Error Code IPC 6023
Anyone know what this is? I can get On Demand but not any internet TV channels. Talk Talk customer services have been little help as usual. I have re-booted Fibre Box, Wifi Router and TT box?

I used to get this quite a lot when I used a Huawei box. It only affected the Internet channels. On Demand stuff worked properly. The YouView Forums may be able to help, but I wouldn't hold my breath, if I were you. I switched to the Humax / BT retail box about a month ago and the problem has all but disappeared. Not only does the box update itself to provide all my TalkTalk services, but it is significantly quicker and has a much better remote. There are still issues with the Sky Channels, but these now take the form of momentary pauses, with normal service restoring itself after a second or so. It still happens too frequently for me to consider investing in one of the Boosts, so I only have those channels that are bundled in with the Plus Package.
Someone else may know better than me, but I think it is an issue with the way that TalkTalk streams these channels, and that Humax boxes deal with it better than Huawei. |

Thanks David I did argue with Talk Talk yesterday saying that the box was slow & useless but they wouldn't budge on providing a new one. They have told me to re-boot and do a manual update which I have done and it is up to date. In fact I believe it is the latest update that has given me the error.
My Huawei box is 18 months old but contractually due to the fibre upgrade I am with TT until this December. I have a Panasonic Box which is much faster but not connected to the internet. I will give TT until tomorrow evening and then if the error is still there have another go at them. Luckily I am not subscribing to any boosts at the moment so it is only the free Sky channels have lost. |

A box of eighteen months of age might be a 370T, which is bad news because Netflix has been known to affect recordings made while it is on. The newer 372T boxes, and the Humaxes, do not suffer from this. I realise that this may go against the grain, but I would recommend investing in the BT-branded Humax box instead, which is available from Currys, Amazon etc. for something like £160. Not only does it suffer far less from drop-outs on the Internet channels, but it is faster, has a bigger hard drive (500Gb instead of 320) and a much better remote. It is tiny as well. When you set it up, run a manual software update if it doesn't do it automatically. It will then set itself up as a TalkTalk box, giving you the TalkTalk Player, your Internet channels and so forth. You may need to alter the picture settings on your TV slightly afterwards. I did, but 24 hours later, they were almost back to where they had been on my old Huawei box. I put this down to the new box running itself in. The video performance of the two boxes is more or less identical.

Go to TalkTalk's "Community Forum" (and I really hate that place so this must be a special case )Seriously - there's been a whole lot of people reporting IPC6023 in the last week or two - to the extent that they started a "pinned" thread asking sufferers to post their specs in the hope of spotting commonality. Here's a link to the correct sub-forum - the thread you want is at the top - http://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/P...ls-TV/bd-p/116 Might also be useful to have a search in other threads - there's may be something to help you at least find a temporary bodge. |

In short, don't assume one update will give you the latest software, |

When I got mine, it did an automatic software update during installation. Afterwards, I noticed that the TalkTalk Player wasn't there, so I did a manual one straight away. It provided everything that was missing: TalkTalk Player, Netflix, my Internet channels - the lot.
I have defended the Huawei box in these forums in the past, and I still maintain that it is now a good deal better than it was, but it isn't a patch on the Humax/BT box. |
