Sad but unsurprising. Classical music and jazz are slowly dying art forms. Blame the iPhone generation and the ruthless moneymaking machine that is the music industry today..
CDs will soon become obsolete, and now that downloading (legal and illegal) has become the mainstay of listening to largely contemporary pop by a young audience that has little appreciation of any musical worth and scant regard for the past, how many of them are going to take the time and trouble to sit down and listen to any quality music? It's just aural wallpaper, there to fill a vacuum on their iPhones whilst commuting or to stave off boredom.
