sony xperia question

i got a question on my mobile phone. how do i STOP the so called notifications of emails to my mobile phone? the only thing i want is just texts how can i sort this out?

Looks like you have to go into the app settings/your account and "tap the word notification, not the icon next to it"

i have looked at this & the sudgestions sound good but for a novis like me i need the big words & pictures. i haddened plan to but i may take it to my nearest phone shop & ask within.

You need to go into the email app's settings and disable notifications.

Depending on your version of Android (The phone's operating system), it should be this....

1. Go into your email app (to view your email).
2. Tap the Menu button (bottom right, next to your home button).
3. Tap Settings.
4 Tap General Preferences.
You should see the email notifications option if you scroll down.
5.Tap to to uncheck it.

I just turn off sync, that's assuming the email is a google account

i dicided today to cut through the red tape & go to the local phone shop & get it sorted
