EE shop footfall counter stops customers entering store
I was in the local EE shop today. I entered the shop followed by a lady behind me. I heard a kind of muted beep noise but didn't think anything about it. One of the EE staff said to her " We have a footfall counter. Can you wait outside as there's too many people in the shop." I think there were 4 customers in the shop or 5 including me. Its a kind of a narrow shop. The lady didn't look too impressed but waited anyway.
Anyone heard of this before?! |

When my fella worked in an store they had a counter on the door. If 100 people walked in and only 50 people bought they use to get marked down by head office All staff had to use a side entrance. Some stores use to pit blu tac over the counter to cover it but it was a sackable offence! Who thinks these systems up?

Perhaps if other high street shops had a varied range of stock, reasonable prices and decent customer service they'd actually get people to buy something |

People with MBAs and who have no idea about selling anything, normally.

Unacceptable. Contact the exec office to complain if you are a customer.

My company works for some shops on the high st, we sometimes get told to avoid walking into the shop where the footfall sensor is.
Or in DIY chains we get told to use the 'exit door ' to come in to the shop!! |
