Hi Everyone,

Thought I would do a good deed, I recently enquired with EE about Pay As You Go Packages as I found the 1000 talk minutes not enough for me on the £25.00 package. So after some heated chats, I came of the phone and was sent a text from EE giving me a code to text for the following package:

£10 Top Up (Last 1 month)
Unlimited Talk Mins
Unlimited Texts
Plus for the next 12 months get 1GB free!

I have an I Phone so need more data, I then put some Data Add Ons which cost me the following:

2GB - £5.

TOTAL £15

Just Text: 30DAYEE to 150 (Note: This didn't work for me so had to call them, it's a new price plan thats not advertised so it may take a minute or two for EE to find the deal)

If true, the cat is well and truly among the GiffGaff pigeons!

Interesting times ahead!

Many of us don't do a lot of calling or texting, but data is the needed thing nowadays.

So Three's unlimited data is the thing to beat and seems that (sadly) no other company goes anywhere near that.

Does sound like spam. Unless its someone on a "dan and phil" or other promotional plan.

Why is the 1GB allowance only showing as valid for 2 days if it's a 30 day add-on? (In the second image).

That's really bad, no capital letter to start a sentence and no apostrophe on I've either. Sounds like spam or a mock up, I doubt EE wouldn't send text messages out so badly written.

I suspect they are fakes or mocked up messages, no wonder the codes didn't work. It is easy to 'spoof' text messages from any number or make the message appear to come from EE.

I actually spoke to a lady on the EE Disability Care number 0808 121 1122 (yes I am disabled) who had a Newcastle accent. Often I get personal messages from them, once I've been in touch on the phone. All I asked was I didn't feel the 1000 talk mins was enough for me & spending even more than the top PAYG package of £25 was far too much. Then 3 mins after the call I got the EE text, so she obviously looked carefully at other packages after my call. I then called back and spoke to somebody else who could see the text that had been sent & added the package to my number, as sending the short code to 150 hadn't worked.

You can also make £7.50 for ordering a free PAYG SIM card from Quidco. I know people who order 5-20 to choose a good number.

It looks like they're unlimited calls to EE/Orange/Tmobile numbers only. Still, that's a big proportion of UK mobile numbers.

Nope they aren't.

Giffgaff users get severely throttled on data speed, Tesco mobile doesn't seem to be the case in my experience

Yep they have 2 call centres up here (2 separate buildings next to each other) whenever I call I always seem to get through to them (I'm sure it's a coincidence and not cause I'm calling from Newcastle) and they always seem helpful and know what they're talking about.

I think they have a call centre in Darlington too, I know they have offices elsewhere but not sure about call centres

EE and T-Mobile support seems to be UK based; Orange is still in India but if you call up and pretend to be an EE customer the UK team will still talk to you about your Orange account.

This is a 30 day add on which gives unlimited calls and texts to EE/T-Mobile/Orange numbers. Any other calls will be billed via your PAYG allowance or through available minutes in your EE pack.

I can assure you that this is not the case!

Have you got the package yourself? I've used over 3500 minutes and called various networks including Vodafone, O2 and Three. Plus 0207, 0203, 01, 0345, 0300, 07 numbers and my credit has been £0.00 since the 30 day plan commenced.

And it's not an add on! It's a price plan which you can only choose by speaking with EE you cannot simply go online or via the app and simple add on..

I sent 30DAYEE to 150. £10 was deducted from my balance and the add on I mentioned was activated on my account. That's why I wrote what I did in my reply. If your saying that they can put you on a new price plan by calling them then that is different. I'm sure you can understand my misunderstanding.
