What do people think of Rebecca's new goth look? Personally I thought she looked better for it. Thoughts?

I loved it. I am partial to the goth style though so maybe biased.

I liked it, I hope they keep it but maybe tone it down a bit and make it a bit more modern like a bit dark/emo rather than full on early noughties goth

What were the costume designers thinking?

Goths these days mainly go for black hair and black lipstick look. This is an awful 90's stereotype.

They could have at least made it a little more gradual, such as Rebecca buying hair dye or gothy earrings and slowly starting to transfigure.

Also, sorry to be all Katie Hopkins, but what sort of a name is "Star"?

At least they're doing something with the character. Goths exist now, but nice how they made her look like a 90s goth.

People don't just do all of that to themselves overnight. Like the poster above said, they start with more piercings, lip or nose .. then do something to their hair, few more piercings, start wearing different clothes etc etc.. it's a gradual process.

It was embarrassing. Truly. It's like a cliché just vomited loads of little tiny clichés all over her till all we were left with was this caricature of a 'teenager from recently broken home' saga of nothingness. I'm all for the goth look, and she looked pretty good. But the whole execution and reasoning is just awful.

I quite liked her new look, maybe she has been doing it gradually we haven't seen her on screen for a while, Sonia hasnt saw her and Martin looks like he's preoccupied with his troubles.

It's a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning. Like all names and you'd be lucky to know someone called Star. Nobody should be forgiven for likening themselves to Katie Hopkins. So apology denied.

I liked her new look. It must have set her back a bit financially to change her style overnight. I bet Sonia will mention the money. I hope she stays goth and it's not a one off shocker.

That's the way I saw it too. We don't have to see everything happen on screen.

Yeah - she hasn't been onscreen for ages and Sonia has made it clear she hasn't seen her in a while. She's also been away at school so I don't think its that unreasonable to guess this wasn't just done that day.

I hope EE doesn't go into the dangerous territory of making out that Rebecca's appearance is the 'wrong' way to look. They're already passing judgement on people named Star.

She looks great. Love that look. They should have more 'alternative' characters.

Turning a teenage character into dressing as differently as Rebecca did would probably be an excellent way to cover up a recast! Personally I think Rebecca looks well dressed in that way but I doubt itll last long for her. Even Martin quite clearly didn't condone how she was made up
