Gmail on android phones - showing "me" for all sent box entries
I have a question about how the gmail sent box is set up on my new android phone.
Every email in my sent box is referenced "Me" which is rather useless. I know it was sent BY me as its my email account! Anyone know how I can change it so that the sent mail box displays who the email was sent TO? It would seem to be a fairly basic thing but I can't work out how to do it and its starting to bug me! ![]() Anyone else with a gmail account experienced this issue on their mobile? (When I access my gmail account on my laptop it displays the recipient OK) Thanks for any advice.

If you tap on the email you will see more details

Does anyone else experience this and know a fix. It seems like such a basic thing. |

It would appear to be a "feature" of GMail in Android. And it would appear that no-one at Google appears to be in any hurry to fix it. Have a look at some of the hits on this google search
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=gm...nt+mail+folder and you will see what I mean. Oh and some of the hits may be dated a couple of years ago but if you go in a couple of them you find discussion threads that have lasted through to this year! |

I'm quite astonished that this bug seems to have been around for so long and Google haven't bothered to fix it! ![]() It seems such a basic thing. They've got all this fancy technology that does god knows what and yet can't even be bothered to run a simple fix to display the recipients name next to an email in the sent box which surely must annoy everyone of its millions of customers round the world who uses it! |

It's probably not that urgent because there is a much easier way to find the email. Tap the magnifying glass and start to type the recipient name. You'll see their name / email address. Tap on that and you'll see the messages to from and mentioning them.

Try an app called 'Mailbox', I just tried it and the sent box shows who the mail was sent to. I believe it does push notifications etc like the Gmail app too

Can you explain what "Inbox" is and how I access it. Is it a function/screen on gmail or another app?
Sorry if I'm being dense but this is my first smart phone and its all new to me! http://www.google.com/inbox/ http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/...changes-email/ Mind you won't make a blind bit of difference to the Sent mail folder issue. That's not what this Inbox app is about as far as I can see. |
