EastEnders - Tina is a great addition to the show!
I really like Tina and I think she is much more do an engaging and relatable character than overused Linda.
I quite like Sonia and Tina's friendship and I also think they should explore her relationship with Shirley a lot more, as it seems to have been dropped, as more and more Carters have came flooding in... I just think she's a classic, old school EastEnders character and I could see her fitting into any era the show has been through. I didn't think that Luisa Bradshaw White was a great actress at first, but she has really grown on me and I really like Tina now. Another thing I think would be great for her character is if she connected more with other characters, especially through her job at the cafe. Tina doesn't seem to be involved with that many characters ATM, whereas when she first joined the show, she was always going on nights out and helping out characters like Cindy. Her rushed pairing with Tosh and the mess what was their domestic abuse storyline (Which I think was actually quite insulting to victims of domestic abuse, the way it was suddenly just dropped, never the less, Tosh really did need to go tbf!). I think now Tosh is out of the way, Tina has been able to flourish as a character again... Anyone else loving Tina? A very likeable character IMO! .

Although her dress sense makes my eye twitch, I do genuinely like Tina as a character. She reminds me a lot of Little Mo Slater, and I mean that in a good way. There’s often a person like that in a family – kind, sweet-natured, always wants the family to get along, yet often taken advantage of for their sweetness. I thought the domestic abuse storyline was a great idea but poorly executed (no fault of the actresses involved, just clunky writing), but I do like Tina’s closeness with the rest of her family. She seems to be the one member of the Carters whom everyone finds at least somewhat approachable and trustworthy.
Tina is one of the better integrated members of the family to the Square, save Shirley. She seems to fit in at the café and has had good interaction with the Jackson wing of the Brannings. I also like her relationship with Sonia, as they seem to hit it off as friends first. I would like to see her make some more friends outside of that group, though. I think Tina and Donna would probably make a good duo. |

Yep, I love Tina. She has a warm heart and is always there for her friends and family.
I don't like Sonia though. She always thinks she knows what's best when most of time it's not the case and when she's jealous she doesn't like anybody else to be happy. I'm enjoyng Rebbecca giving Sonia hard time

I like Tina but am not keen on pairing her up with Sonia. I would have preferred to see them remain friends and Sonia work things out with Martin. They've gone to the trouble of recasting it so why not establish a strong family unit with that little family?

Tina's really grown on me. I didn't buy her character at first; and initially felt they would have been better with the original character outline (an overweight, past-it fifty year old) but her kookiness, vulnerability, humour and capacity for empathy is a complete breath of fresh air.
Sonia/Tina is actually a partnership I buy. I can see what the two characters see in each other. Does more for me than Sonia/Martin (an arrangement of convenience at best), and they've avoided the hideous pratfalls and writing that befell the character last time they paired Sonia with a woman. |

Tina is a great character, I really like her pairing with Sonia, it's been handled much better than the Naomi storyline. (Disagree that she's more engaging/relatable than Linda though, I love Linda and think she's the most layered of the Carters and the one I care about the most.)

I like her. Also like the pairing now Sonia's "turned Jackson" again (as Pauline once put it).

I love Tina always have. The character got pulled down with all the Tosh stuff as that relationship was never believable for me. You knew Tina and Sonia were going to get together and it works on screen. The actress is good and her scenes with Tim West are excellent. Shame he is going cantankerous old sod.

I like her although I have a feeling she'll eventually become a background character like Billy or Patrick for example when the Carters all begin leaving over the course of the next few years. I think she'll be one of those characters that sort of fades into the background until she's inevitably axed or leaves of her own accord - although I could be wrong and Luisa could quit if she is not given enough stories or she could become a major player in a few years time.

I'm curious as to why everything has to be a choice on this forum. To like Tina, you must hate Linda/Shirley/both. To like the Carters, you must dislike the rest of the cast, or vice versa. To like the older cast, you must dislike the younger cast. It's rare to see people just praising things without them slagging another part of the show off as well. It's same for the soap forum in general, you can't praise one soap without criticising another. This is at its worse when they have similar storylines, you can't just compare and contrast them, picking out the good and bad points of each and having an interesting discussion, it's always "x really showed y up" or similar. (Bit of a tangent, but there's quite a few of these comments in this thread and it got me thinking. )Quote:
I disagree as I think the Tina/Sonia relationship will be very popular with viewers. There are all sorts to keep these two in the show with links across Carters / Fowlers / Brannings.
