The hospital scenes made me laugh tonight! Not the bit where he died of course but the bits where the old man kept butting in. When he was reading his novel and Stan said 'if he's that fantastic, shut up and get back into reading it!' And something about the treacle tart..'Im not at a table'. Stan was brilliant at being funny too

Anyone else like these scenes tonight?

I loved Cyril's scenes (not the last, obviously). They made me smile

Really like Andrew Sachs' short appearance. Such a sad way to write him out. He was so lovely. He reminds me of some of the elderly neigbhours on my road. Always so warm and kind. The Thomas Hardy line was funny. I assume Cyril's family is a lot different to the Carters.

I hope June Whitfield's guest appearance is this enjoyable.

Cyril's death shocked me! It was so haunting and really put life into perspective - you don't know when your time is up. Very dark. Well done DL!

Agreed, Cyril was better than Ramsay, just a shame Andrew Sachs and Cyril couldn't of appeared in a few more episodes, was great at showing how you never know when your times up though.

There are two rules for hospital friends in soaps. They are always chirpy and they always die!

I was convinced the whole time that he was going to convince Stan to see the error of his ways, the fact he didn't really made me laugh even more, like said above they were a great contrast. I wish Cyril hadn't died though. He was lovely and gee that scene was dark

Was it a heart attack that killed him?

Cyril was the greatest EE character that never was. He had a lot of with and seemed interesting. At least he went in a happy mood

"Do I look like Lassie?" was the best line in the show.

No love you look like a Doctor Who monster!

What made me laugh about his death was that he just died there and then and the nurses didn't even know. Babe had to go tell a nurse that one of their patients has just died.
