Robert Mitchum played the character that Robert De Niro played. It's a very good film and all the better because they achieved the same menace and tension without all the violence and gore of the remake. Oh, and Mitchum is a far better actor in the role.

I really like the new couple. Their observations are intelligent (OK...maybe not the criminalised earlobes - I googled it - it is a theory but seems to be ridiculed).

Yes I also really like the new, intelligent couple but predicted they would be in for some premature, loose cannon bashing.
