Yes I agree

Wednesday is too late for live programming to be included as the show has already gone to edit.

I was being sarcastic as I knew they were teachers but they do not seem to know much. But they could have been PE teachers I suppose.

I am enjoying it more as the drunk couple are not in it. They are to aware of the cameras imo.

I thought last night's show was a bit dull.

What didn't they know?
Teachers can't be expected to know everything.

I thought the selection of programmes was much better last night: no Strictly, X Factor or The Hunt. Good to see the Supervet and that doctor programme included.

Nope, he was History, and she English as I recall.

You know they weren't PE teachers, this humour/sarcasm might come over in your head or with the 10 or so people who watch this live and post one-liners with you as it airs, but it doesn't work outside that narrow frame.
Another FM is now asking what you're referring to.

For the sake of clarity for those who don't know.
Leon, 79, taught history at Dingle Vale Secondary Modern, Gateacre Comprehensive, Yew Tree Comprehensive in Dovecot, Croxteth Comprehensive and Clubmoor Comprehensive, and June, 76, taught English at Gateacre Comprehensive for 26 years.

They met at Alsager teacher training college (Leon is from Liverpool while June comes from Tredegar in South Wales) and have been married for 53 years.

Pretty sure Leon was a Head master at some point, one of his ex pupils commented on it in one of the news paper articles.
It got a mention and linky in the original Gogglebox thread.

Now I didnt know that. She's obviously lived in the North-west for a long time because I can't detect a hint of Welsh there.... and Tredegar is proper valleys - either Rhumney or Sirhowy, I can't remember.

Well that's a shallow comment.

Welsh-lad can't detect welsh accent shocker!

Really? Even us North-Easterners (Teessiders, if you will) got that from June's accent,

"Isn't it Mary?" (Is my default addendum to anything I say to OH these days)

They'll be back! The finals of both shows are only a few weeks away, so no doubt we'll be treated to the Goggleboxers watching excitedly and pretending they don't already know who won from the original broadcast a few days beforehand.

I believe Mary is a columnist on one of the broadsheet newspapers. Very intelligent.

Haha

Re. June - I only pick up Liverpool from her, though some aspects of that accent are quite similar.
I know what you mean though - my gran thought that Huw Edwards sounded very posh and English, though he has an obvious (if softened) Welsh accent.

I'm generally pretty good at spotting it.

Yes - her intelligence is evident. I think the remark was directed at Giles for daring to mention his wife's name (shaking my head). I really like them.

I'm afraid your information is wrong, Prince. Leon and June tweeted that they have recently celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary.

It's not 'my information', it's in italics because it's a cut n paste from an old newspaper article.
I assumed everyone copped on that it was a cut n paste, maybe I should have thrown the link in, to make that clearer, but I didn't think anyone would be interested in the article as it's old news.

One of the annoying things about Gogglebox. This week their showreel had a 1pm weekday news bulletin, that everyone was supposed to be watching live!!

That's odd as most teachers think they do know it all.

I've always assumed that the programme makers send them a DVD with this weeks shows on.......because they always appear to express surprise at what comes on......

Like Leon saying that the Viking show was the thing he'd been watching.........'oh, it's that show I've been watching'

Or the Hull woman will say 'whats this'? and Mavis Riley will say 'I dern't know'

So they obviously are not watching live TV or they'd know what they were tuning in to
