That Giles has got to be the most boring man on the planet Every time he opens his mouth it starts with Mary this...and Mary that. What with the vile wallpaper and Mary's dire fashion taste. They just need to be gotten rid of
No! They are great!

We say BLEEP for "couldn't" up here take my word for it.

Don't know where the two girls are from but I'm from Yorkshire.
Those two girls are very boring. And the trendy vicar with the henpecked husband has gone past her sell by date.
The new Welsh couple are horrendous.

That's my view ! Lol

I must say I do like Mary and Giles, the two Hull friends in the caravan, and I used to work with two black women who were just like Sandy and Sandra ! The posh pair play up to the camera all the time, the posh gay guys couple are hardly ever in it ( one of them always has a shocked expression in his face, like he's just been goosed lol ) and I wish the hairdresser would put some bloody socks on!

Met Dom on his doorstep in Sandwich & it was a big thrill for me! He was so warm, friendly, interested & interesting--no wonder he's been a success in life.

Yes - her intelligence is evident. I think the remark was directed at Giles for daring to mention his wife's name (shaking my head). I really like them.
I love them, they come across as proper old English eccentrics.

I believe Mary is a columnist on one of the broadsheet newspapers. Very intelligent.
She's Mary Killen.
Published lots of 'dear Mary' type books giving advice on etiquette etc. like her columns.

I think she's Irish aristocracy. Not sure though.

I love her and Miles. They are eccentric and lovely.

I also like the two in the Hull caravan.
They make me laugh.

Thanks, Chita! Did a little research....no wonder I like Giles & Mary; both interesting characters in their own right.

Yes this shines through. The quality of the programme improved when they joined - their comments are interesting.

I've always assumed that the programme makers send them a DVD with this weeks shows on.......because they always appear to express surprise at what comes on......

Like Leon saying that the Viking show was the thing he'd been watching.........'oh, it's that show I've been watching'

Or the Hull woman will say 'whats this'? and Mavis Riley will say 'I dern't know'

So they obviously are not watching live TV or they'd know what they were tuning in to
That's a good point. I've always wondered why they squeal with excitement and say "Oh it's Downton" or "Ohh it's that movie Billy Elliot" when the programmes start.

Braveheart? Why are they watching a 20 year old film?

That apparently none had seen previously

What's up tonight? Usually, when I come on here, while watching on +1, I have at least 3 pages to read through from the 9pm showing.

Really enjoyed tonight's edition - quite a few chuckles.

A very pleasant, cosy way of spending an hour.

The thread started to turn a little too unpleasant for me to frequent much any more.

The downside of that though is hardly anyone puts context to their one-liners or emote-faces, so the majority of readers don't have a clue what on earth people are going on about. I tended to skip those 3 or 4 pages because of it and just jump to the post-show comments.
They'd be a lot more enjoyable to read if the as-live comments had just a couple or even a few words in context.

I have no interest in that show but is that person with the long blonde hair a man or a woman Wish they would stop these awful reality shows as all they do is argue.

Enjoyed last night as no drunk posh couple.

Jenny and Lee and Giles and Mary are brilliant Chris and Stephen always good value.
