Someone in an earlier post said they are filming their own show or something. Hopefully they will be be able to come back like George and his family.

I have no interest in that show but is that person with the long blonde hair a man or a woman
Wish they would stop these awful reality shows as all they do is argue.Enjoyed last night as no drunk posh couple. Jenny and Lee and Giles and Mary are brilliant Chris and Stephen always good value. That's what makes them so good. |

Braveheart? Why are they watching a 20 year old film?
That apparently none had seen previously ![]() Is this the first series of Gogglebox you've watched? They always used to watch old films. So far they've watched: Psycho, Grease, Home Alone, and Basic instinct. I believe all of those titles are older than Braveheart. |

The films are clearly chosen for their emotive effect.
Imagine showing a film which bored everyone! (Although, when Braveheart came on and Leon exclaimed "wonderful", I did see June's eyes roll! Mine would have done so too). |

I loved the comparison between Louis looking up the word piffler online (and siri giving a completely different (rude) answer) followed by Giles looking it up on a massive dictionary which must have been 5" thick.

What's up tonight? Usually, when I come on here, while watching on +1, I have at least 3 pages to read through from the 9pm showing.

I wonder how many people have now just abandoned the site (and forums) due to the disastorous mess they have made of the main site. I've not been on it since, and I used to be on it constantly. Just visit the forums now.

That apparently none had seen previously ![]() I don't get the confusion over this sort of thing, yes there are lots of 'popular' films that huge swathes of people have never seen. The key points/scenes soon end up been discussed or been referenced, jokes made about it. Quote:

Imagine showing a film which bored everyone! (Although, when Braveheart came on and Leon exclaimed "wonderful", I did see June's eyes roll! Mine would have done so too). I'd say most people aren't huge film buffs, no matter how many films they watch and don't remember whole swathes of script or scenes. Unless it's a favourite film they mostly remember a few key scenes or that they had an emotional response to, at the time. They know 'there's a good bit coming up' they can't always remember exactly why it's a good bit even as it's unfolding in front of them. Explains why some of the Goggleboxers get so excitable, as the memories start flooding back, we've all been there. I'd guess with the family's there's the added bonus of the parents telling the children what's going on or winding them up, ready for a key scene and seeing their children responding to it for the first time. |

I think it's time Ch4 and Steph and Dom realised their isn't a format for their 'skills' or they're simply a bit light on talent/charm for it to carry a whole program.
I watched their Farage thing and didn't think it was up to much, others must have thought there was something in it. |

They are to aware of the camera for me. I also can't see why they are so special that they have been given their own show. They were often the most boring people on Gogglebox for me - a real turn off. |

I haven't seen Friday's program, catch the repeat later.
I don't get the confusion over this sort of thing, yes there are lots of 'popular' films that huge swathes of people have never seen. The key points/scenes soon end up been discussed or been referenced, jokes made about it. Like everything else that makes the edit, if there's no response, there's nothing worthy of making the edit. I'd guess with the family's there's the added bonus of the parents telling the children what's going on or winding them up, ready for a key scene and seeing their children responding to it for the first time. The Michaels, hairdressers and Steph and Dom all live within a short distance of each other and the Brixton pair an hour's drive away. So I expect the same crew do their scenes. This week they had that C4 murder two parter, which they saw, before the programme was even broadcast. |
