I've always dismissed Self as a morose, droning, pseudo intellectual bore. Sorry, Will. I've misjudged you.

I've just started following Lee & Jenny, and the Siddiquis on Twitter.

Lee & Jenny replied to a Christmas Greeting from Leon & June, wishing them...and partners....a very happy Christmas.

So I don't know what to think, now....I'd be slightly disappointed to think that Lee & Jenny had significant others, waiting in the wings. Obviously, I didn't think L&J were a couple, but there was something very sweet about these two individuals, sitting in a caravan, of an evening, to watch 'telly. I used to assume that one of them lived in an adjacent mobile home, and came to visit.

This needs a new broom to keep it fresh, but I don't think it will happen.
Sandy & Sandra offer nothing apart from soundbites 'Ya get me Bro...Braaap, braap', Leon is a complete twazzock who I fecking despise, the two sisters from Leeds are thicker than mince.
The vicar comes across as charitable and Christian as Martin Shkreli & Dave is just taking the piss!

It says at the beginning Jenny and Lee are best friends. maybe they grew up together and always remained friends.

OK so maybe it is overly obvious in pulling heart strings etc.

I only saw it once but preferred Richard Curtis' 4 Weddings & A Funeral (just about bearable though with Andie MacDowell...cringe).

I watched that once and that was enough.

Yes, thanks, I've <employed the services of the world's favourite search-engine> and now know that you're quite correct.

I also learned that the filming takes place in Jenny's holiday home in the caravan park. And filming took place last winter/spring when the caravan park was closed. I'd prefer if things could be as authentic as possible.

I saw another <160-character Social Media post> where someone asked 'Which is your real accent, Jenny, the one on Gogglebox, or the posh one you use in real life?', and they also asked Lee which was the real him - the likeable one on the telly, or the snooty one in real life. BUT in their defence, accents can seem more pronounced on television - well, I'm assuming that's the case. I remember when my father read a reading at church in the 1970's, and sounded just like the notorious Rev Ian Paisley, when 'in real life', we barely detected a Belfast accent.

Interesting that neither of the live in caravan?

I doubt ALL the filming took place last winter, as they watch and discuss topical real world stories.

Sid's family don't film in his house any more, they use one of the Son's houses.
I'm guessing Sid's Missus wanted her house back, maybe Jenny or Lee's partners didn't want their houses taken over at all.

As for whoever texted (I assume) about Lee been 'likable', I'm assuming they met Lee and expected him to be friendly and chatter to some random in the street, the got the hump when Lee wouldn't play.
He might be likable to his mate Jenny, that doesn't translate to every random punter going.
I don't know about anyone else on here, but Lee isn't one of the Goggleboxers I'd expect to be a chatty Cathy if you spotted them in the street.
I wouldn't expect more than a nod and a wan smile from someone like Lee.

No one watching Gogglesprogs

Not impressed as children that age would not sit and watch the news or the whole of GBBO.

Feel a bit weird watching children watching adult programmes tbh.

Filming takes place a couple of days before transmission. They discuss current news events etc

Yes I watched it and found it delightful, i.e. entertaining/amusing! Lots of unintentionally funny remarks. I started a thread on it.

You can't compare it to Gogglebox because of the age factor - it works perfectly fine as presented - others have been enjoying it judging by some of the comments on my thread. I guess it may depend on whether you are interested in children though.
