I've always thought that describing somebody as "socially inept" is a horrible thing to say. And as the Tapper mum found out, there usually can be a reason behind it, which people seem to forget just because it isn't visible. Also felt the Vicar's comment was ill timed but neither Tapper's mum/Vicar's comment were meant in a negative way so I will forgive them.

On the whole, I really enjoyed this episode though
Great to see all of my favourites back, like the Moffats, Jenny and Lee, Siddiquis and pretty much everyone else

She meant 20p in the Pound, which she did try and explain, but only got as far as 'if you earned a pound...' or words to that effect.

I can't see what's wrong with describing someone as socially inept, it's a statement of fact/opinion.
Like anything descriptive or more how it's framed, the context, tall, fat, thin, long hair, we could all put those in a negative context.
I must say it was amusing the way the kids pulled her up, as if it was rude for her to spell out what they all knew.

Amy Tapper has been too quiet for far too long, in the same way Louie and Mum have got quieter, I wonder if Amy and Mum are as quiet when the cameras aren't there.

Ah...missed that. Glad I did though since I had a good laugh!

I noticed with this one how annoying those families are that I don't like. Apart from the daughter I really don't care for anything the Michaels' ever have to say (the daughter had an awesome snap remark about her brother's comments on zoo life/cushty living)... apparently you'll run out of things to do in Amsterdam after two days. The Dad thinks that it's only got brothels and galleries... living up to the stereotypical UKIP'er that he is.

The Tapper mum is annoying as ever, and I thought it was great that her kids basically showed her up for her 'socially inept' comment and how she was having a laugh about it. And the vicar gets more false and frustrating by the series (I didn't mind her at first). The Supervet is definitely an emotionally manipulative show on some level, what with the sad music in the background and everything, but her comments weren't so much offensive as just needlessly callous.

Aside from that, Giles and Mary are superb, the Siddiqui's are always good and I guess it can't hurt to have George back either - his mother is quite funny at times.

Yes, even after she knew the reason for his behaviour she didn't seem to have any regrets about mocking him.

She clearly lacks empathy.

She's a moron. I can't stand her screechy behaviour. Why they've kept that family on for so long is beyond me.

Watched this for the first time since April 2014 today. Found it a tad dull to be honest, the "newer" viewers/families do nothing for me and I much prefer the Tappers, Sandra and Sandy, the Michaels etc.

That said there were some funny moments, and that intense bit in Happy Valley was actually more gripping through Gogglebox than it would otherwise have been IMO.

It's only optional now in the C of E, the only requirement to be a vicar is you must hate the Tories.

You have to give it time with the new families. I used to hate Giles and Mary, I thought they were about as interesting as one of ADP's pro BBC rants, but over time I've come to like them.

Another thank-you from me.

I suspected there was an artistic background. Interesting as you say.

You don't have to be a vicar to do this....just saying!

(They make is so easy to dislike them....unless you are rich of course!)

I am pretty sure she said she felt bad for saying it once she had learned.

Great to see GoggleBox back, wish they'd ditched the stupid vicar though. Tries so hard to be funny and entertaining and falls flat on her face every time. Her comment about the size of the hole for the little dog was as insensitive as it gets.

Great to see the Gilbeys back. The most down to earth and sincere family on there

Fascinating to read that Mary is the 'agony aunt' for the Spectator.

Not that I thought Tories couldn't possibly have personal problems, but that they'd be willing to divulge them!

The family who have the Rottweiler - I don't know their name, but wasn't that a different lad on the sofa?
The one who sits at the end of the sofa near the Father'?

Maybe someone else can tell you. I couldn't say since they really bore me i.e. have
never said anything remotely interesting and are in danger of being upstaged by the dog!

The father always sounds ignorant, or is it an attempt to sound funny?
There should be new families every 6 months because the whole idea is that ordinary families give their opinions, and the existing ones are now celebrities and just play up to the camera
