Lost respect for the Moffatts, taking the piss out of a classic like Jaws. At least everyone else got into it.

Did anyone else hear Brodie say, "Blow up" at the end of Jaws? I always assumed he was just shooting at the shark and got lucky, hitting the air cannister. Maybe they added it later.

Even when the shark is on-screen looking as fake as anything, the acting, the sounds, the editing, the other special effects, the music etc. totally pull you in.”

The shark looked bad when Spielberg was shooting it so he used the same kind of shots that Ridley Scott used later on Alien. As far as I'm concerned, this was his peak.

Well I guess it depends what kind of film you like...I think Close Encounters Of The Third Kind was far more interesting.

I didn't remember that line either. Perhaps it's just one of those things that just doesn't register because you've seen it so many times.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they added it later on in some director's cut or something.

According to Speilberg the shark also kept breaking down (which is why we see so little of it - which adds to the tention as it becomes more psychological)

A bit harsh and unwarranted....what do you know about his social life? Why do friends have to be the same age anyway? Shows narrow minded thinking.......

The book 'Easy Riders, Riding Bulls' by Peter Biskind goes in to great detail about the difficulties of shooting a film where the 'star' is more temperamental than any actor, due to days off needing maintenance.

Little Moffat is the absolute spit of her Dad, she's a nice little girl.
I would like to shove extra large bungs in the gobs of Mama Tapper and Louis Michaels, it wouldn't be difficult as they're always open wide anyway. Josh's impersonation of her was spot on That screeching is an assault on my ears.

Re the camels in Australia; according to Stephen Fry on an episode
of QI (Terminally repeated on 'Dave') there are now more Camels in
Australia than in Arabia. They were imported as pack animals in the
vast tracts of outback country, and found cheap to maintain (as they
eat virtually any of the vegitation) and therefore economical to use.
There are also apparently, massive herds of wild camels that have
over the years, escaped into the outback, and (like the rabbits) bred
themselves into huge numbers. But I for one, would never kiss one
of the foul breathed beasts!

I believe they export them back to Arabia now. If they can sell camels to the Arabs, maybe they could try selling them sand.

I assume there wasn't much in to last week as there was a lot of chatting about non TV stuff last night between all the families. I'd rather hear their thoughts on the programmes.

Not a fan of the Moffat child, I definitely fall into the children should be seen and not heard camp. no need for her.

Missed the Scottish family too.

Then she is considerate!

I don't mind the young Moffat in small doses...she is quite precocious but I can see that she could be annoying. Also Scarlet looks in danger of being upstaged by her (judging by her facial expressions and body language). I seem to recall Scarlet being corrected by her (last week) - how humiliating is that?

No fans of Chris Tarrant's Extreme Railways on here?
They imported the Camels and the Afghan Cameleers to work them in the days before the Railways.
Instrumental in opening up the interior before the railways, now there's a train called The Ghan, runs along one of the old routes I assume, some descendants of the Cameleers are still about.

Watched a series 2 episode on E4 last night, and it struck me how different the show used to be: there was a lot more opinion instead of staged "funny" conversation, for example Leon used to talk with innuendo a lot more, we used to see them eating, which we never see now, the camera shot was wider, much closer now, and also the whole atmosphere just seemed less commercial and more innocent, now it's starting to seem like they're faking it.

+1

It's implied from conversations between Lee and Jenny that he's always out. He's shown her videos of him meeting randoms on nights out, etc.

So you believe she does not swear in front of her when the cameras are turned off? Really!

I didn't say that - we are talking about the programme itself aren't we?

None of us knows what the reality is off camera.

It does defeat the whole object to some extent. The show was originally billed as ordinary families watching TV and saying what we were all thinking but it's just morphed into another repository for fame-hungry wannabees.”

I wondered why the vicar wasn't on. I'll have to go back for th reasons. Was it because she was so hated? Well not liked.

you should. I don't know how young you are but the producer of this film made something amazing. If you read thew book, it's even scarier.
