Do viewers here sit together with their partner like Dom and Steph, or in separate chairs like Leon and June?

My partner and I sit on the same sofa

The new posh family seemed to be a replacement for Steph and Dom (even down to the yellow sofas haha) but they weren't cutting it for me and I will miss seeing Steph and Dom's wee sausage dog.

I wish they had more variety of where there families are from. Have a Scottish family (actually living in scotland) and a Northern Irish family. I wouldn't mind volunteering for a Scottish family as I really don't have much of an accent however my partner and I go on too many tangents I think and laugh at the silliest things

Overall it was ok. Miss Steph and Dom though

There was a Scottish family in one episode but then they just disappeared.

I, like the Googleboxers, didn't at all understand what was going on with the Hunted programme. Why didn't they just go up to them in the restaurant like they said?

The one on the left hardly ever faced the screen, and just yabbered on about scratchcards and suchlike. Don't see them lasting on the programme, even if some people here seemed to actually enjoy them. The brothers are the most likely of the newcomers to stay the course I'd say.

You mean "multelcultchel"? He really struggled with that word...

I'm surprised he wasn't picked up on it.

I never understood a word they said.

This seemed to be a common experience (not one that I had though) with the Scottish family and may make sense into why they were dropped....if they have been!

The cast is now so large that they don't all appear in any one episode so.....!

If that's the plan, I actually think it's quite a good idea. The same families every week had become very samey.

Personally I'd change the cast entirely every two or three series but if they're going to mix it up a bit so they'e not all on every single week, then it's probably a sensible compromise. Something needs/needed to be done to freshen the show up a little.

I can't say im keen on the new posh family. They're usually so separated from reality their opinions are just annoying. I'm ready to be proven wrong though. Love Steph and Dom who are equally as posh but that might just be because they're always p1ssed!

Scarlett has lost SO much weight (as has the redhead from the family with the german husband). Shes starting to look gaunt. Im assuming there will be a bargain bin workout dvd before Christmas.

Glad that the Scottish family didn't make an appearance this episode. You know when you have to put subtitles in, that they might not be a great idea for the show!

I don't think you can be as drastic as to change the entire lot. People have a hard time accepting newcomers as it is without taking away all of their favourites.

This thread is an indicator of the fact that not all of the regulars are universally liked (or disliked), but for the most part it's what people keep tuning in for. Personally, when I started watching the programme I found many of the people annoying, dozy, stupid or irritating but over time I've developed an affection (or at least a tolerance) for pretty much everyone who has stayed the course.

If you say it very fast, it can be all one word. But why that phrase?

It's something the Sisters said at one point, discussing their Mam's cooking, chip pan chips vs oven chips IIRC.
I'm guessing it's a 'in' joke, but I think the FM is having a bit of a stretch expecting people to remember the discussion and get whatever the joke is.

Maybe the years of watching Take the High Road has somehow trained me, a lifelong Londoner to tune in to Scottish accents, but I didn't have a problem with the Scottish family.
They haven't been seen for a couple of series though have they?

I could understand them too - we might be in the minority though!

They only appeared in the last series (series 7) so they could yet return. I highly doubt it though!

Rab C Nesbitt played well down south, had a lot of fans so we can't be in the minority, probably only this thread, but you're talking about a minuscule sample of people on this thread anyway.

I couldn't understand them. Glad they're gone.

Now get rid of hippie family and we'll be alright.

I enjoyed Friday's ep, great to have the show back. However, I'm disappointed that there wasn't any Steph & Dom , Leon & June or Sandy & Sandra, hopefully they appear in next week.
