Giles is so dry.....when he said they should make him (whoever it was) the next bond instead of that Craig David I nearly wet myself. Brilliant with his comments. almost as good as the dry sarcasm of Stephen.

Yes Giles is a character - thought provoking when he doesn't get the wrong name.
Re. the vicar - to me it is clear she is using the programme as a kind of soapbox.
I would be doing the same thing if I were on it, to be fair. Why miss an opportunity to influence the general public?

How is making a sexual comment to his wife seen as 'pervy'? Perhaps inappropriate or risque but no more than that. Yes June's look is lost on him but then he laughs anyway so what good would it do if she said anything? Harmless really.

Just noticed the Tappers are hardly mentioned in either people's top fives or their worst.
IMO they simply represent the average family sitting round watching TV, the young girl used to be a bit shrill, but she has gone quieter, the son seems to be quite intelligent with his comments and the Mum and Dad just seem to be a nice "normal" Mum and Dad. Good luck to them.

They get right on my tits, especially the unbearably loud mother. She's as bad as an American when it comes to talking at a normal volume.
Just looking at the dad annoys me.
The only people that bug on me on this show Bill and Josef. They're yawn-inducing to say the least. I don't mind the other families.

Yes, but that really shouldn't make a difference - C4 said all along it was about 'ordinary people' and when they're deemed 'celebrities' (like George going on CBB) they're no longer what the show's about. What they really mean is 'we don't care if they become 'celebs' as long as they're on C4'!

Exactly right, which is one of the main reasons C4 used in axing George and his family when he went on CBB.
C4 can't have it all ways, or they'll lose the authenticity of the show.

I really like the Tappers. They're clearly a loving family. Never having experienced that myself, I've always wanted to be loved the way the Tapper kids are.

I did not mean "other pervy comments" to mean when he's talking to his wife. I meant in general. I agree with you he's sometimes inappropriate and risqué.

Dull? You mean they are not shouting and overacting? What they say is often intelligent and many here are warming to them.

I don't particularly like S&S these days either but there is a difference between quietly funny and intelligent (the Sidiqquis) and one sentence boring observations (the new ones).
Stephen and Chris are still the best. Stephan is as witty as anyone on TV

Yes - he always does it whenever they show any sexy girl/boy kissing scenes in films. He doesn't want June to ruin his concentration while he's having a "moment" (shudder
). Then he recovers enough, usually to make a suggestive comment to poor June.
Anybody else think they'll eventually do a Children in Need crossover skit with the Goggleboxers sitting on the sofa with real TV characters (maybe as they comment on the shows they're in)? They could have Kim from EastEnders with Sandy and Sandra Who else would work well together?
