Sounds like you lapped it up, i bet it wasnt gory enough for ya, i bet you wanted to see it being ripped limb from limb with as much blood as possible.

Just because you love seeing it , doesn't mean others are the same, whether they are meat eaters or not.
It wasn't even in normal light, it was in night vision.

I thought the snakes chasing the new born lizards was worse.

We can't be squimish about animals eating other animals, it's life and it's nature.

Perhaps we should have a meat licence so that you can only eat meat if you are prepared to kill an animal.

I liked that Furry purple jumper wots her name's daughter had on.

Wonder what purple animal that came from.
ooooh yeah , lets do that , i fancy an animal killing spree now you've said that, the more you kill the more you eat, in fact lets do away with all civilised society and just go back to cave man rules

Personally I think people should see the actual effects of killing rather than the sanitised versions they see in films and TV shows.

Perhaps then they'd be against it more.

Although it is satisfying seeing an ISIS fighter get bombed.

I'm a veggie before anyone yells and I don't like scenes like that at all but I can see why they show them, personally I thought better a baby than the mum which would have meant all the babies died.

Its all choice imo , i don't see why the need for people to come on and question the reasons why some of them don't want to watch something like that, it also doesnt mean the program makers shouldnt show it either

Yeah, that was painful product placement.

There was another moment where somebody conspicuously mentioned a brand/product and I thought it sounded like a blatant plug.

Can't remember exactly what product it was though. Which I guess means it can't have been a very effective plug anyway.
During a break there was an advert for Just Eat or one of the other food delivery firms. It showed groups of people, Gogglebox style, sitting around discussing their favourite takeaway, how they liked their burgers built, etc. Back to Gogglebox and the tedious Leeds sisters are droning on about favourite takeaway and how one had a burger yesterday and was going to repeat today. She didn't name the burger chain but went into detail describing her chicken supreme burger . Subliminally I guess viewers might think "mmm I fancy a burger right now" so possibly product placement by suggestion.

Maybe...except that her description had the opposite effect on me - sounded gross!

Me too as it goes, yuck might work on some I suppose. Still with her droning, vacuous delivery her description of chateaubriand or lobster Thermidor would have me reaching for the Rennies

Thank God that series is over. It's gone very stale in the last 12 months. The three brothers weren't featured enough and without Scarlett it's now just a bunch of OAPs being forced to watch Strictly, XF, First Dates etc. every bloody week. Keith Lemon's impressions of some of them summed it up. Leon: "I hate that (insert name, rinse, repeat)". Luckily for me, the Irish version has interesting, new people having some great craic watching a more varied selection of telly programmes.

I question whether you still get the whole family gathered around to watch tv shows anymore. Would those three brothers really sit around watching Strictly every week for example. Most households have more than one tv and the ability to record. I get that the premise of the show was to be a bit like the Royle family. People sitting watching TV, but even at Christmas in our family, the young ones will go off and watch Eastenders and the olduns (us) will sit around chatting. We hardly watch any telly over Christmas.

Just last week myself, husband and eldest daughter watched strictly with our nan, she loves discussing it with visitors and the viewers of goggle box would love her as she comes out with some classic comments.

Unfortunately nan was taken poorly during the week and she's in hospital so missed the final. She just happens to be in a six bed ward with one of the actors from the royle family, their backgrounds and age are very similar and they would have a great chat but it seems that the royle family member is not doing as well as my nan!

Interesting and sad. I hope your nan pulls through...especially at this seasonal time of year. Is she pleased about sharing a room with a celeb?

Certainly gathered in our house for 'big' shows like BGT, XFactor, Strictly and the main soaps, East Enders and Corrie.
Level of interest/concentration seems to got through peaks and troughs, one Daughter is more interested than another, so laptop and or phone might be out at the same time.
Sometimes they're texting/twittering to mate via phone or laptop also watching the same program.
Next week level of interest has flipped to another Daughter or Herself.
I used to poke my head around the door sometimes if I heard a lot of noise or some act like Honey G I'd heard about somewhere, I might flip my TV over in another room to see what all the fuss is about.

Sometimes if something interesting is on, the shout might go out to others to change channel so they can watch/comment on the same program, sometimes that leads everyone to be in the same room watching and commenting, sometimes not, sometimes shouting comments from one room to another.
First Dates, anything in the Black Britain season and Planet Earth would cause shouts to go out 'quick BBC Two, BBC Two'
Always used to be at least 3 TV's on the go in our house, whether they were been watched by everyone present is another matter, could be upto 6 TV's, laptops and phones on the go.

What a fuss they were all making just because the leopard took a baby pig.
rolleyes

It's nature. And most of them eat meat, so it's not like they can say anything.
That was the point Queenie was making about her Pork spare ribs or whatever.
She was getting emotional about the Piglet, but she was sat there with Pork ready to eat.

We've seen this before, if the program was about Leopards and they'd been watching them hunting and failing to eat for days, then they'd be routing for the Leopard, then they'd question why they were routing for the Leopard to kill another animal.

I watched an old (about 20 years ago) wildlife documentary on bbc4. It was watchable because it told the story but didn't show the killing. We all know it happens but don't need to see it. I know murder of humans takes place but don't need to see it to make it true.

We don't need to see anything, but why censor what we do get to see?

We should just see what is filmed, with as little censor ship and editorialising as possible.

I didn't know what this was so had to google it! Very brave!
My first thought was it had something to do with bingo wings (loose arm flesh!)
Forgive me!

Thanks, it is something that I have always wanted to do, and what have I got to lose at my age?

I have done three Tandem parachute jumps, and I loved those, so this is just the next step.
