I noticed the difference too. It doesn't look like a home anymore. It looks like something stark and minimalized for the TV.
It might well be just them changing their taste too though I suppose.

My favourite living room is Giles and Mary's. It's so quirky and cluttered.
Also tickles me that she sits in a low armchair with a footstool and he seems to perch on a high seat above her!

A lot of the families have had new sofas/armchairs in the last few series. Nothing to do with the show being sponsored by a sofa company, I suppose?

Apparently they don't actually all sit in those actual chairs when normally watching the telly. Some just don't both fit into the camera angle when sitting in their normal spaces. Apparently normally June sits on the couch and Leon has a big armchair. They're probably on two different sides of the room though and it doesn't work.

I think its pretty obvious they asked Giles to shove his chair in there as he looks bloody awkward. There's no way he sits there normally. Mary does though I bet. She looks like she's grown roots there!

Mary looks as though she'd bang her head on the cupboard above if she ever stood up!

The position of the Moffatt's sofas looks contrived too, as though they're blocking the doorway.

...and Scarlett is always perched right on the edge of her seat.
Thinking about it now, perhaps Dad Malone had to drag his seat forward at the 'request' of the Producers...

Brighton is the best city in the UK. The fact they've got a Green MP says it all.
