The record producers cashed in on the whole 'Neighbours' thing.

It charted in 1988 actually in December and missed out on the Christmas No.1 to Cliff Richard's Misteltoe & Wine but eventually got to No.1 the following month.

I loved Kylie's early years and I was a huge Neighbours fan at the time so this duet to me was the greatest thing since sliced bread having Scott & Charlene singing together on a record. Now in hindsight the song is a bit sugary sweet for my liking but I will still always love Kylie's SAW era. Kylie's debut album was the first album I ever bought.

Especially for You has just recently been certified as a UK million seller

Not one I can listen to much if I am honest

It was the biggest-selling single from 1986-89. At no 15 in the chart of the 80s, it was the only song above no 20 from that 4-year time span. I understand it was the biggest seller between Jennifer Rush's Power of Love in 1985 and Bryan Adams' Everything I Do in 1991.

It's sickly sweet but it sure brings back loads of childhood memories.

I was 7 when this was in the charts and everyone my age loved Neighbours. I know S/A/W aren't fondly remembered but when it came to Kylie & Jason they got it spot on.
