Thanks for the heads up. For those with itvEncore ep's 1 and 2 are repeated on Saturday evening.
And every episode is available now on catch up, and (at least episode one) without any interruption. Not even a trailer before or after the episode.

At the start of tonight's episode of Beck there was a trailer for show that will be shown in the Saturday night slot this Autumn. One of them was Beck and the others were The Code and Modus

I'm assuming The Code is the second series of this Australian show which started over there on Friday

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Code_(2014_TV_series)

Modus is based on a series of books written by former Norwegian politician Anne Holt. The lead character is played by Melinda Kinnaman, half-sister of Joel Kinnaman who appeared in the US remake of The Killing. Krister "Wallander" Henriksson also appears

Oh, is Beck on again after the Olympics? I never did get round to watching the first three - will have to have a look in iPlayer. How high would you rate it?

Thanks also for the heads-up about The Code and Modus, which I have never heard of but will check out.

Beck isn't up to the standard of The Killing, The Bridge or Wallander but I find it enjoyable enough

Any idea if More 4 have something new to replace The Outlaws when it finishes? (Another excellent series).

Outlaws is excellent. Sad that so few of the Saturday night BBC 4 crowd don't pop over to More4 on Fridays.

I'm lucky to have Sky, so get HD and the ad free on demand versions.

When is Spiral back eh eh?
https://thekillingtimestv.wordpress....is-next-month/

Since starting Spiral, Proust has managed to fit in half a dozen stage roles, alongside the movie and TV appearances. It takes between seven and nine months to film a season and the episodes are often shot in two or three batches to accommodate late changes to the scripts, which are inspired by real cases. The showrunner, Anne Landois, consults the police, prosecutors, lawyers and a judge while researching the series. “The sixth season,” says Proust, “will be about corruption” – in the law, the police and in the characters’ personal lives. “We will start shooting in May so you have to be patient.” This means UK audiences are unlikely to see it until 2017. At the end of season five, the pregnant Berthaud suffers a severe stab wound. Is she going to be OK? “What do you think she could be?” laughs Proust. “You think that she could be happy? You think we are going to tell a story about, ‘Oh, everything is nice in our nice world, our pink world’? … It’s not possible.”

Thanks for the All 4 info Verence. Fingers crossed some of them make a broadcast appearance rather than only online.

Would also love to know if the current tactic of showing the first episode on Ch4 and the rest online (Locked Up for example) drives more to watch the whole box set or not. I'd prefer the whole series on old school TV but I guess the ratings just don't stack up.

I doubt I am a typical viewer to be considered representative, but although I have at least tried all the foreign language series broadcast on Channel 4 or More4, I have not watched any of those episodes. There would be no point if I am not going to be watching any more of the series.

Also, none of those All4 series will be broadcast as they are stated as online exclusives. They probably only bought the rights to show them that way, although in doing so also mean no other broadcast would want to buy the rights to show them.

That's true but not unusual.. after all there's a gap of two years between each series of Spiral

Thank u Verence this news has made my morning u r excellent at finding out what's coming up from Europe. Why, you could be a part time Scandi detective!
2018 for Icelandic transmission so realistically could be later here. Let's hope BBC 4 buy it (they could use the cash they are saving on Bake Off)

That's great news, but why, since it's mainly been seen in Europe, is the article aimed at the Americans?

The second season is expected to premiere on RÚV, the Icelandic national broadcaster, in the fall of 2018.
The series premieres on ZDF in Germany this fall.

Although she's Icelandic the author of the article has spent most of her adult in the States so its likely she's picked up the American versions of various words

Yes, it's good news about Trapped, I really enjoyed it. Talking of Icelandic snows and saving cash on Bake Off, they could use some of the money to repeat Naeturvaktin and also show Dagvaktin (The Day Shift) and Fangavaktin (The Prison Shift) too so we can see what happened to Georg and the gang at the petrol station

Not to mention the spin-off film Bjarnfreðarson

Speaking of Icelandic films this one regularly crops up on the Horror Channel
