Sound bar optical in connection
Phil Owens
22-03-2015
Just bought a cheap and cheerful sound bar from Argos..
Looking at the optical out on my TV (Samsung) http://regmedia.co.uk/2012/02/02/tos...smart_tv_3.jpg the optical in on the sound bar looks different . http://www.grrpicturehosting.co.uk/S.../159360-08.jpg
What lead do I need .

Sorry to be the bearer of 'bad tidings'

The sound bar picture has a blanking plug in it, which needs removing to expose the socket, the TV has a flap which opens when you insert the lead.

They usually fall out, when you pick them up and catch it with your finger

Well, managed to fit the cable and it works.
Bought a "one for all" sound bar to tv bracket but to make it fit I need to take the tv off the cantilever stand. Lots of spare holes in the stand but the bolts that come with the bracket don't come with nuts as they are meant to screw in to the tv.

They are standard metric sizes, so easy enough to buy nuts to fit.

The most common ones are 4mm, 5mm and 6mm.
