Has there ever been a more toe curlingly, embarrassingly awful scene on Corrie than Gail trying to usher Gavin's auntie back into the house on friday night?? I suspect it was meant to have us all falling about laughing, but, like much of Blackburn's 'humour' it failed miserably & left Gail looking like she'd escaped from the nearest mental institution!!
I honestly thought Andrea 'hanging from the Rover's guttering' would never be bettered in terms of shockingly bad, but this surpassed even that I think!!
This has plumbed new depths of Gail being transformed from a normal, if somewhat unlucky family woman, into Corrie's resident Coco the Clown character!!

In the immortal words of our Deirdre "Do something, Blackburn!!! " preferrably resign!!

You're telling me!.

40+ minutes of utter tedium.

No wonder why less than 6 million viewers returned...

The Callum and Chesney scene gives this some competition.

That scene the other day when Callum told Chesney he was going to 'rearrange his face' was laughable for all the wrong reasons...

I admit there was little to choose!! Similarly Bethany's first scene & Owen's little display of 'affection' towards Faye who he's given every impression he considers an irritating nuisance right up to that point!!

Actually yes & it was even more laughable when Chesney 'stared him out' & he left muttering "Whatever.. " or something!!

I'm a Corrie fan through and through but I was cringeing for a lot of it....

I like Bethany just not her dreadful taxi con,
The writing was a subtle as a brick - Hope fully you'll see him soon....cue Michael turns the corner.
Andrea as a whole needs the boot - dreadful character and now 2 hideous scenes - the roof and now the chair....
Gail ushering the Auntie "reverse reverse beep beep beep" - WHAT???
Allotment "fun" with a Nazzzzzzir and Roy. Hopefully the whole family is axed

I have enjoyed many episodes this year - but Friday's double bill was bloody awful.

It really does feel like the show is being written by nursery children

There's no emotion. The storylines are rotten and there's far too much of a focus on the younger lot!

IMO, 2015 has been the shows worst year so far. I know we're only 3 months in, but those 3 months are enough as it is...

I really don't like the Gavin storyline. It feels so forced and Michael is a character not many care about.

There's far too much of a focus on unlikeable characters and lesser characters.

Oh, and the aftermath of the bus crash was just naff!

Also, I agree with the writing, but I think a lot of the writing this year has been piss poor. Especially when it comes to comedy... A lot of people say 2014 was bad, but it had a decent January - June!

I think the scripts are generated by a computer programme called entitled soaps for the very, very dim.

Andrea's husband on the roof of the Rovers was just dreadful.

A character that not one viewer gave a tuppence for threatening to jump if another character no one gives a toss about didn't take him back.

That will take some beating.

You have a got a point there, especially with Les and Cilla's wedding.

I am not watching at present, just waiting. to hear that a competent producer has been appointed. I would guess that the worse scene ever will be Anna's sullen foster daughter having a baby, probably on the floor of the Rovers where most Corrie babies are born; or even on the floor of Roy's cafe, where Anna and Gary were working last time I looked.

Am I thinking right that was when Status Quo made an appearance wearing neck braces?

I never witnessed that. However, the cast was a lot better then, with legends like Deirdre, Blanche, Betty, Jack and Vera, etc... Was Shelley and Charlie's wedding in 2005? I LOVE watching that episode on youtube. IMO, it's everything Corrie should be. Drama, light relief, good writing, likeable characters and a bit camp.
