Samsung Smart TV set up
I have a new 40" Samsung Smart TV and on trying to set up the internet connection the signal from my wireless computer was too week to secure a permanent connection. The computer is in the opposite side of the house. I set up a wired connection through a TP-Link operating through the house ring main, and this immediately gave me the connection I needed using 'Anylink'. A couple of days later I attempted to operate the TV hub to view catch up TV and the connection was lost. Going back through the setup procedure the TV would only default to its WIFI connection and ignored the wired connection. No amount of me fiddling about with Internet settings seems to work and I'm sure there must be a way to permanently fix the problem but I can't find it! Very frustrating. There is no fault on the TP-Link as it works when connected to my Humax Fox T2 HDR recorder, though I can only get BBC iplayer on this. I need my smart tv to be smart!!!

Welcome to DS!
You could try resetting to factory defaults and start the process again. If it refuses to use a wired connection, do what you did before and setup wireless first, and then switch to wired. What is the exact model number? |

They should automatically switch between wifi and wired connection, when the network cable is plugged into the LAN socket.
Those TVs can also act as a wireless access point if you enable that facility and the LAN is connected. |

Stig - the model is UE40H6400 3D LED TV. I'll try to reset to factory defaults if I can find out how to do it.

Problem now solved. Samsung replace one of the circuit boards under warranty.

A further problem has arisen. For some unknown reason I cannot no longer access the Demand 5 app on my UE40h6400 in the Smart Hub. Are there any downloads to correct this?

If you can't see the app from the smart hub, then I'm afraid it has gone.
There are a number of apps that I can recall have disappeared over the last few years. Sometimes they come back in another version eg catch up for channel 4 (whatever it might be called now), otherwise they are no longer supported by Samsung and are removed. Check out a few threads here for alternatives such as android boxes, roku, chromecast. |

Problem now solved. Samsung temporarily removed Demand5 at the beginning of November but it has now re-appeared. I had to re-set my Smart Hub first but now OK.
