Monday 1st June 7:30

Naila arrives on the street to report on the fire. However she tries to question Tyrone as heads to the cafe for breakfast. He is keen to avoid it, but they both stop in the moment when they see Leanne laying flowers and getting upset. Naila questions Tyrone off the record and he notices how startled she is by the revelation that Kal has passed. He takes her inside, helps her to calm down and stays with her until Dawud arrives to meet her.

Leanne is concerned that Simon has locked himself away in his room. While at the Nazir's, it is very quiet. Zeedan, Sharif and Alya say nothing as Yasmeen fusses around and begins making all the plans for the funeral.

Tracy is hiding away from the locals after the events of last week which leaves Danny growing concerned for her. Nick helps Carla return home to Roy's, and helps her settle in. Heading to the Platt's to check in, Nick is glad to find David home alone and confides in him his excitement to become a dad. The moment is interrupted when Sarah returns home, David spurred on by Nick's happiness, tells Sarah to up her game because he wants his family back together.

Kevin has made the decision not to go to the police. He and Rita have spent the night trying to get in touch with Jenny. Maddie is furious by the decision and wants to call the police, but Sophie stands by her dad which clearly upsets Maddie. But there is relief when they find the address of the property that Jenny was escaping too...

Gary, Todd and Jason return home after being out all night following Todd's suicide attempt. They bump into a shaken Liz, who realises that Gary doesn't know and breaks the news about Kal leaving Gary broken. Todd tries to support Gary but he brushes it off and heads home. Eileen is glad to have her boys home, but is later concerned when Jason passes comment on Liz's reaction.

Monday 1st June 8:30

Concerned for Simon, Leanne forces her way into his bedroom where she finds Simon clearly upset, he tries to push her away but Leanne is insistent and wants to comfort her son but he lashes out, pushing her hard which knocks her to the floor and she hits her head. Leanne backs off, clearly shaken by the incident. Simon later comes out of the room and apologises, and cuddles up with Leanne on the sofa who accepts his apology and is just clearly glad to have some comfort back.

At the Nazir's, Naila and Dawud arrive to pay their respects. It's clearly awkward between them all, Zeedan escapes to the garden and Naila follows and tries to awkwardly say nice things about Kal. In the moment Zeedan leans in to kiss her but she pushes him away and heads back in, and he follows her. Inside Yasmeen loses her cool with a comment that Dawud makes and she lashes out asking if her and her family are just a freak show and Dawud and Naila make a quick escape. Realising that Dawud was insensitive, Naila lays into her brother, causing him to storm off and Tyrone is left trying to calm down Naila after they bump into each other.

Carla arrives to see Tracy sending Danny out so they can speak alone. Carla confronts Tracy about the events of last week. Carla laughs at Tracy's guilt, telling her this isn't the first time she has had blood on her hands. Carla stands by and watches as Tracy pleads with her not to tell anyone what she did, promising that she is going to change. Carla startles Tracy by telling her that her baby is okay. Taken aback by that comment, Carla agrees to keep her secret as long as this is an end to their feud. Tracy agrees and shakes on it, just as a confused and suspicious Danny arrives home.

Kevin, Rita, Maddie and Sophie all go together in the car to track down Jenny and Jack. Maddie and Sophie start bickering so Kevin tells them to wait in the car and with Rita he heads up to find Jenny and Jack. Kevin can't believe his luck when he finds the door unlocked and heads into the flat and startles Jenny who instantly grabs Jack and rushes out onto the balcony. Kevin and Rita slowly follow her, speaking with, trying to be understanding. Downstairs, Maddie and Sophie are discussing how different their outlooks on life clearly are with Maddie pointing out that they maybe don't know each other as well as they think they did. Hurt Sophie gets out of the car to hide her tears and Maddie makes a call. Kevin and Rita manage to talk Jenny down and convince her to hand over Jack, and at that moment the police burst in and arrest a gutted Jenny. Kevin is horrified.

Eileen is startled when Todd apologises to her for everything that has happened before heading out. Todd drops in on Gary, finding him home alone, he offers him support and Gary opens up to Todd about being in the army with Kal. While Eileen gets Liz over for a drink and Liz cracks and admits to Eileen she thinks she has lost everything and can't feel sorry for Kal because he used her, like Tony did.

Wednesday 3rd June

Sophie wakes up in Jack's bed. Kevin has gone. Concerned Sophie calls Sally who is shocked to hear what happened the night before. Sally then sees Tyrone going to open up the garage and rushes to see if he has heard from Kevin, they then find him curled up in the garage in a state. Kevin doesn't know how to feel and Sally and Tyrone try to get through to him. It's Tyrone who really hits a nerve when he makes Kevin realise he should be focusing on his love for Jack and Kevin heads home to be with his son.

Maddie escapes the house and confides in Tim she called the police and is concerned that Kevin is blaming Sophie for it. Urged on by Tim, Maddie heads home and admits the truth to Sophie, Kevin and Sally. Sophie is furious, but Kevin is thankful as Jenny is now getting the help she needs.

Startled by Sophie's reaction, Maddie goes upstairs and packs her things, and slips out the door when no one is looking. However Sally soon realises what is going on when Tim calls her after seeing Maddie in the street and she rushes to stop Maddie. Sally tries to convince Maddie to fight for Sophie but Maddie tells Sally they are from different worlds and it shows now, but tells her to thank Sophie for making her a better person. Maddie gets on the bus and leaves Weatherfield behind...

Rita is startled by the events with Jenny. She escapes to Emily's looking for sympathy, Norris is his usual self at first but after Emily gives him a telling off in the kitchen he soon becomes very supportive and Rita ends up breaking down.

Leanne pays the Nazir's a visit. It's awkward between them all. Zeedan shows concern for Leanne which startles her. Liz gears up to confront the Nazir's but loses her bottle when she sees an upset Leanne leaving.

Danny convinces Tracy to go for lunch with him and they head to the cafe. Gary is struggling to handle his grief and when he spots Danny being cheeky to Todd, he sits down at the table with Danny and Tracy and puts him in his place telling Danny how his actions led to Todd nearly killing himself. Tracy is horrified and is unable to look at Todd while a mortified Danny rushes out. Sarah is in the cafe with Callum and is suspicious by his reaction to a phone call and how he disappears soon after...

Friday 5th June 7:30

It's the morning of Kal's funeral. The Nazir's are sombre as they try to process their grief. Dev arrives back from India ahead of the funeral and is clearly tired and emotional, as Julie and Mary try to greet him. Julie is clearly concerned by the frosty reaction he gives her. The kids are delighted to see their father again.

Carla and Nick turn out to support Simon and Leanne for the funeral, Gary, Roy, Naila and Dawud also turn out alongside Dev and Julie to say their goodbyes to Kal. Liz watches in the distance and Carla notices her anger towards the funeral. Carla follows Liz into the Rovers and spots her downing a drink, and orders her in the back to talk.

Carla pushes Liz to talk over the Rovers back table, Liz admits that Kal used her to save his business and now she is going to be ruined if she doesn't get her money back. Carla tries to calm an angry Liz and reminds her that if she tells the family the truth then it will tarnish their last memories of him. Liz is left thinking, and Carla suggests that she speak with Dev in regards to the business.

As the family gather back at the house for the wake, Zeedan picks up on a comment that Naila makes and forces her to reveal that the fire investigation things that this could be an insurance job... and they think Kal started the fire. Zeedan furious, chucks everyone out of the house, Yasmeen and Sharif try to calm him and Alya just watches on as her brother breaks down in tears.

Tracy pays Todd a visit at the Grimshaws and apologises for what Danny did to him, and what is pushed him too. Todd tells Tracy for once it's not her fault, those words really hit home with Tracy and she later heads home and has words with Danny about his behaviour. Danny defends himself and is angry that Tracy apologised for him, he just treated Todd like he has been treating people. It was about time he had a taste of his own medicine. Danny refuses to back down, and picking up on Tracy's comments pushes her into admitting her concern that the fire was her fault. Horrified Danny convinces Tracy she needs to go and face the Nazir's...

Sally is concerned how she is going to break the news to Sophie about Maddie's departure. Tim supports her and they head over to Kevin's. Sophie questions where Maddie is, and Sally has to be honest with her daughter. Sophie is clearly startled by the revelation, and Kevin ends up later comforting his daughter when he finds her upset on her bed.

Sarah follows Callum to his local but soon realises after checking his phone that he has no idea where Kylie is, but Gemma catches her checking his phone and confronting her, ends up admitting to Sarah that Kylie is living with her...

Friday 5th June 8:30

Zeedan refuses to believe what he has just been told at the funeral. Yasmeen and Sharif are clearly concerned by the news. Alya questions why they would think that it was an insurance job that went wrong. Noticing Sharif's reaction, Alya and Zeedan push him into admitting that he had asked for the money he invested in the gym back so that he and Yasmeen could retire in France. Yasmeen is concerned as Zeedan lunges for his grandfather. Alya manages to calm Zeedan, and he storms out of the house after warning Sharif he will never forgive him if it turns out he is to blame for Kal's death.

Liz arrives at Dev's asking to talk, Mary watches as Dev sends Julie to collect the children and asks Mary to start dinner as he sits down to talk with Liz. Liz explains the situation with Kal and the gym to Dev and he is startled to discover how bad things got in his absence. Dev agrees with Carla that telling the Nazirs won't help matter and explains to Liz they have just discovered that the investigation has concluded that it was an insurance job that caused the fire. Once Liz has gone, Mary has a word with Dev about the way he is treating Julie and Dev admits to Mary he has decided he needs to end their relationship. Mary is uncomfortable when Julie returns with the children and Dev plays happy families with them.

Tracy is preparing to go and admit her guilt, spurred on by Danny and opens the door to find Carla about to knock. Carla tells Tracy it looks like she is in the clear, Kal is the baddie in this situation. Tracy and Danny are confused as Carla reveals that the investigation has concluded that it was a failed insurance attempt. Once Carla has gone, Tracy breaks down at the relief that the fire was not her fault and Danny is left comforting her.

Kevin is spurred on by Sophie's comment that she is unable to get closure because of the way Maddie has fled, and heads out. Heading to the hospital, he comes face-to-face with Jenny. He tells Jenny he is glad she is getting the help she needs but they are finished now. Kevin leaves, feeling better.

Sarah follows Gemma home and confronts Kylie. Kylie isn't startled by Sarah and argues back, until Sarah stuns her by revealing that Callum is trying to take Max from David and asks who she would rather he was with. Kylie then agrees to meet with David to discuss the children...

Monday 8th June 7:30

Sarah turns up at the Salon and tells David they need to go, David refuses to walk out of work until Sarah tells him she has found Kylie and they need to go and meet her. David is quick to drop everything, which leaves Maria annoyed and she warns him she has an appointment later so he needs to be back by then. David and Sarah head off and it's tense as Kylie and David are reunited, the pair come to blows but soon end up laughing at their insults to each other. David admits to Kylie that he needs her help to keep the kids. Kylie tells him she will do whatever it takes. While Gail decides to plan a family dinner after a chat with Yasmeen over the garden fence and tells Michael that they all take family for granted sometimes, which is a comment that clearly upsets Michael.

Leanne drops in to see the Nazirs and informs them that Zeedan is staying with him. Alya is keen to talk to him but Leanne advises that he just needs time to get his head around things and he will calm down. Sharif awkwardly asks Leanne if she thinks he is to blame, and Leanne reminds him that Kal had his own mind. While Simon is delighted to have Zeedan living with them, and Zeedan distracts himself by playing computer games with Si.

Mary is angry at Dev for stringing Julie along, as she continues to be oblivious and excitedly prepares for a dinner date with Dev later that evening. Dev has other things on his mind as he tries to sort out the mess that Kal and Liz have created, however after meeting with his solicitor he returns to the Rovers with bad news for Liz, the insurance won't pay out due to Kal starting the fire... so he can't get her money back until they manage to sell the gym off...

Faye has a meeting with the social work to discuss putting Miley up for adoption. Tim, Sally, Gary and Anna are all present. It's clear Anna has her doubts and Faye is very aware of them due to the atmosphere during the meeting. Faye shocks everyone by telling the social worker that she wants her to take Miley into care until they find someone to adopt her. She can't bare to be around her any longer...

Monday 8th June 8:30

Gail's family dinner is beginning to fall into place. But David is missing, Sarah keeps her information to herself as Gail frantically tries to call him. Audrey eventually convinces Gail to dish up dinner and David can heat his up when he arrives. Just as Gail, Michael, Sarah, Bethany, Nick, Audrey, Max and Lily sit down to eat, David walks into the house with Kylie...

Their is a startled reaction, while Max runs to his mum, delighted to see her. Kylie takes Max and Lily upstairs knowing things are going to kick off. Gail and Nick lay into David for the stunt he has just pulled. David tells his family that he and Kylie are back together. Gail really loses it when Kylie comes back downstairs and tries to find drugs in her handbag. Kylie tells David's family that she is clean and she is back to fight for her son and to fix things with them. She knows she let them down. Gail tells Kylie that no apology will make up for the mess she has left things in.

David stands up to his mother and tells her to go and calm down. Heading out, Michael follows Gail to the Rovers and really lays into her for her behaviour with Kylie reminding her what she did to him. She is worse because he couldn't get to say goodbye to his family. Gail is taken aback.

Maria shuts up the Salon early as David hasn't returned. She pops into the cafe and hears from Roy that Carla isn't doing as well as she is making out and then heads to the Prison. Maria tells Anne about the fire and the last thing she needs is her bringing up the past. Maria tells Anne she will visit her if that helps her lay the past to rest but she can't get Carla to see her. Anne startles Maria by revealing that she doesn't have long left as she has a brain tumour.

Anna is furious with Faye after the social worker leaves and warns her that if she does this then she will never forgive her. Gary and Tim are horrified and force Anna to leave. Faye is adamant it's her decision and she is doing what is best. Angry at his mum Gary heads to the Bistro for a drink.

Dev has taken Julie to the Bistro for dinner, and Julie asks Eileen and Adrian to join them as they are on a date. Dev is annoyed as he clearly wants to talk to Julie, but the dinner date falls apart when Gary asks how Todd is and Eileen realising something is wrong pushes him into telling him about Todd's suicide attempt on canal street. Eileen is horrified and rushes home but as Todd is sleeping on the sofa, she can't bring herself to wake him and say anything. Left alone, Dev breaks Julie's heart by ending their relationship, admitting he thinks they both deserve better than settling for each other.

Liz is concerned at the Rovers and speaks with Steve and Michelle, she tells them she has taken a loan out against her share of the Rovers but has realised she can't afford the first payment yet as her new investment hasn't cashed in yet and asks for their help to pay it. Steve agrees to see if he can borrow the money from Streetcars but is clearly concerned that Liz isn't telling him the full story.

Wednesday 10th June

Gail returns after spending the night at Audrey's and licking her wounds she apologises to Kylie telling her that she is a hypocrite and has done worse in her time away from the street, David is surprised by the U-turn and heads off to work. Michael is sitting at the table during this and later loses his cool with Gail, he knows that whole performance with Kylie was for his benefit and not for David and Kylie. Michael tells Gail he doesn't think he can do this any longer and tells her that their marriage is over, walking out...

It's awkward in the Grimshaw household over breakfast, Julie is heartbroken, Todd is oblivious and Eileen is deeply concerned about her son. Eileen later meets Adrian and breaks off their relationship telling him she needs to focus on her family just now. Mary is annoyed with Dev for lying to the children when they ask after Julie before school and warns him that it will be better coming from him than someone else. After school, Dev breaks the news of their split to the children and they are clearly disappointed. Gary later lets slip to Todd that Eileen knows about his suicide attempt, although originally annoyed at Gary for telling his mother, Todd softens when he realises Gary was just showing concern for him. Todd heads home and awkwardly talks to Eileen about what happened but it leads to a fight and Eileen walks out. Bumping into Michael in the Rovers the pair drown their sorrows together and go back to Eileen's where they share a drunken and clumsy kiss on the sofa but both realise it's not right and Eileen goes to bed alone.

Gary warns Anna that she was vile to Faye yesterday and that she will loose her if she doesn't support her.

Steve speaks with Lloyd who agrees to loan Liz the money for the loan repayment and Liz is thankful.

Maria is uncomfortable when Michelle offers up her flat for a girls night with Carla and Leanne tomorrow.

Friday 12th June 7:30

Eileen has dragged Julie out to the Rovers to try and cheer her up, they have a gossip by the bar with Liz. Audrey, Gail and Sarah arrive for a drink and sit in a booth, completely oblivious to the fact Michael spent the night at Eileen's. Eileen is uncomfortable with their arrival which Julie and Liz pick up on and admits that she and Michael kissed the night before. Liz and Julie wind Eileen up about it but it's awkward when Gail interrupts the conversation to order a round of drinks.

At the table, Gail, Audrey and Sarah discuss Kylie's return, and eventually begin to discuss Callum. Sarah admits she is going to break it off with Callum and is looking forward to giving him a showing up as she is only still with him for David's sake. Gail is impressed by her daughter's loyalty.

Mary arrives in the Rovers and awkwardly drinks alone, trying not to get eye contact with Julie. Liz and Eileen pick up on the awkward tension and urge Julie to go and talk to her. Julie approaches Mary whom instantly apologises for the situation with Dev. Julie realises that Mary knew but understands when she explains how she urged him to be honest quicker. Julie is emotional when she learns of the twins reaction to their split and thanks Mary for being a good friend. Julie then joins Mary for a drink, leaving Eileen and Liz to talk.

Eileen tells Liz their was lots of whispers in the cab office this week and questions whether she should be worried. Liz assures her not to be, and explains that she had to borrow money. Eileen tells Liz not to let her money worries get on top of her, assuming it's to do with Tony's departure which leaves Liz thinking.

Across the street, Tim calls Gary and Anna to the house as the social work have arrived to take Miley into care. Anna is devastated by the situation, Faye is clearly relieved as she hands over the child and Anna and Tim both say an emotional goodbye to the child. Anna can't bare to look at Faye once the social worker has taken Miley away in the car, and Sally suggests they go for a drink in the Rovers.

At the Rovers they join Gail and co in the booth. It's awkward at the table as everyone gives their apologises to Anna for the situation and Anna returns the favour in regards to Gail's split from Michael. Gail questions how she knows and Anna admits she saw Michael leaving Eileen's this morning. As Eileen sits talking to Liz at the bar, Gail appears out of nowhere and pours a drink over her and calling her a slut.

At Maria's flat, Leanne, Michelle and Carla all arrive for the girls night. It's awkward at first but the tension is broken when Beth arrives, gate crashing the event with a bottle of cider. Maria is relieved as she is clearly feeling uncomfortable around Carla. The girls decide to get the night under way with a drink game but I have never only ends up in an argument between Leanne and Carla as old tensions rise to the surface. Beth loves the drama and it's left to Michelle to try and calm the situation as Maria escapes to the bathroom, to take a call from Anne...

David and Kylie have a family night in with the kids. As they play with Max, he is clearly delighted to have his mum back. Kylie puts the kids to bed and comes downstairs and joins David on the sofa with a glass of wine, as they laugh about Max and Lily, Kylie tries to kiss David but he pushes her away, horrified and reminds her that they are only pretending to be back together so they can keep Max...

Friday 12th June 8:30

It all kicks off between Eileen and Gail in the Rovers. As insults are thrown, Eileen is amused when Gail reveals her fling with Michael, and Eileen laughs at her that nothing happened and that he slept on the sofa. Mortified Gail turns to leave only to find Michael standing in the doorway. Michael is disgusted and walks out. Gail heads into the bathroom to pull herself together and is followed by Eileen who has gone to wash her face after the drink. Eileen and Gail surprisingly have a moment of compassion as they discuss the situation. Eileen urges Gail to go and speak to Michael, and Gail tells Eileen that she is surprisingly supportive.

Gail heads back to the house where she finds David and Kylie confused as Michael is packing up his things. David and Kylie escape upstairs to let them talk, Gail and Michael go over the bones of their relationship and Michael admits he is done trying, the Gail he just saw in the Rovers isn't the same understanding and loving Gail he fell in love with last year and he doesn't love this version. Gail urges him to see what Andy has done to them, but Michael points out Gail has her own mind and he can't forget what has happened. Michael tells Gail he is leaving for good and tells her he will contact his solicitor for a divorce, he kisses her goodbye and walks out of the Platt house for good. Kylie later finds Gail sobbing at the dinning table and comforts her...

With Gail's words ringing in her ears, Eileen heads home and speaks with Todd, Todd gets emotional as Eileen tells him how much she loves him and wants him to be happy, and he eventually seeks comfort from Eileen who hugs her son as he sobs.

Liz sneaks out of the Rovers, and knocks on the Nazir's door. Sharif is surprised to find her and she tells him she needs to speak to him and asks him to meet her in the kebab shop. Liz waits on Sharif, who is eventually startled as Liz explains the situation to him. Sharif is relieved that he isn't the reason of his sons money worries and Liz tells him she doesn't want to tell the rest of the Nazirs but she won't let Kal ruin everything for her, so he needs to help her resolve the loan issue. Sharif agrees to see what he can do for her.

Anna is struggling with her emotions, as she and Sally leave the Rovers, Anna questions Sally if she thinks she is a monster. Sally tells Anna she can be abrupt but she understands her anger and pain but reminds her that Faye is a vulnerable child trying her best to survive. Anna is left feeling guilty.

At the flat, Maria returns to the party and lightens the mood and it's not long before the women are laughing and joking again. As they all leave one by one, Carla is the last to leave and she thanks Maria for such a good night as she hasn't had this much fun in a long time. Maria is left feeling guilty.

Les Dennis' time on Coronation Street came to a sudden end last night as viewers said goodbye to his character Michael Rodwell.

After trying to resolve his marriage woes following the reveal that son Gavin was actually a conman pretending to be his son, Michael finally gave up on it this week and walked out on his wife Gail, played by Helen Worth.

Michael later shared a moment with Gail's sworn enemy Eileen (Sue Clever) where they almost slept together however when Gail caught on to the almost affair she confronted enemy Eileen in the Rovers Return. However Michael overseen the whole charade and decided enough was enough and left Weatherfield after a final confrontation with his wife.

New producer Chrissy 2005 confirmed that Dennis' contract was a casualty of his new reign and explained the reasons behind his sudden departure; "Sadly I felt like Michael's story had came to an end with the conclusion of the Gavin/Andy story. Gail is going to go off in a different direction this year and Michael doesn't fit in with that new vision so it was time to say goodbye to the character. We decided to keep it a secret from the audience as Les Dennis is quite a big name for the show and we wanted to bring back surprises to the show. I'd like to thank Les for his hard work in creating a believable character in Michael."

Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7:30pm on ITV.

Monday 15th June 7:30

Gail comes downstairs to find Kylie, David and Sarah plotting around the table, she tells them she doesn't need their help as she is fine. Sarah tells her that is just as well as they aren't plotting for her. Sarah then heads off out. Soon after Callum arrives to collect Max and Kylie hides out of sight. Callum puts his foot in it by asking where Michael is which upsets Gail who is struggling to hold it together. Callum heads out with Max for the day, when Kylie re-enters Gail questions what they are upto and David just smirks.

Nick later checks in on Gail and is concerned about her. Heading back out, he seeks out Sally and sends her over with a bottle of wine to offer Gail support. Gail and Sally get tipsy mid-afternoon and Gail is cheered up by her friends support.

Later Callum is dropping Max back off, and he is clearly horrified when Kylie walks in and kisses David on the cheek all for his benefit...

Sally and Tim are on edge around Faye. Faye is being particularly difficult after the events of last week. She refuses to go to school, she refuses to help Tim tidy up, she refuses to go out with Craig when he pops over to check on her and when she refuses to eat her dinner, Sophie snaps having witnessed this all day long. Sophie stands up to Faye and points out how selfish and spoilt she is behaving. Sophie tells Faye she understands she is finding things difficult but she needs to realise what her behaviour is doing to others. Her and Maddie's issues started over Faye, Anna lost Owen over Faye, and everyone has lost Miley because of her. She needs to grow up, and take some responsibility for her actions and stop acting like a child. Faye is startled by Sophie's words and runs out in tears, Sally demands Sophie apologise to Tim for the outburst but Tim surprises them by admitting she needed telling.

While Anna is struggling to get her head around things. Gary is concerned about his mother and her relationship with Faye, after a brief chat with Roy about letting go, Anna decides to visit her brother and have a few days away to try and get her head around events.

Eileen is smothering Todd in her concern for him. Although he originally laps up her running around after him, by lunch time it has become too much. While Julie's heartbreak continues when she bumps into Dev and the twins and they get upset at seeing her. After this, Julie asks Eileen to go out for a drink later, Eileen turns her down to look after Todd but he insists that Julie needs her support too.

Alya is keen to resolve her family issues and approaches Zeedan about returning home but Zeedan brushes it off leaving Alya upset. Later when a business lunch goes wrong, Alya is thankful when Jason steps in to offer her support and gets rid of the difficult client. While Sharif is open with Yasmeen about what Liz has told him in regards to Kal and they agree to give her Kal's life insurance money when it comes through.

Monday 15th June 8:30

Callum is horrified that Kylie is back and confronts her about her return. He is smarmy about it but David and Kylie can see they have wiped the smile off his face. Callum is fuming as he leaves the Platts and heads straight to the Rovers to meet Sarah. Sarah is having a drink at the bar with Audrey and Nick when Callum bursts in. He confronts her asking why she didn't tell him that Kylie was back. Sarah tells him it's none of his business. Callum rages that he had a right to know. Sarah tells him it's family business, her family's business. Kylie and David walk in and order a drink at the bar, so Callum tries to regain his cool, order him and Sarah a drink also.

Sarah then takes the drink he has ordered for her and throws it in his face. Sarah tells him, he can have everything he gave her back because like she said, this is her family's business and she won't let him muscle in on that. As a furious Callum goes to leave, Sarah clarifies that she is dumping him just in case he never grasped that, Callum warns Sarah that she will regret messing with him, he warns Kylie and David he will see them in court and storms out...

Impressed with her granddaughters performance, Audrey slips out of the pub and goes to find Gail. However she finds Gail struggling with her emotions as she frantically cleans the kitchen, concerned, Audrey steps in and holds her daughter as Gail cracks and breaks down.

Having escaped the house, Faye tracks down Craig in his back yard and seeks comfort from him. Craig is honest with Faye and admits that he thinks Sophie does have a point but she was clearly very harsh as she has upset her. As Craig talks her through his thought process Faye admits she hadn't even realised Owen left because of the Miley/Faye situation. Realising why Anna is finding the whole situation very difficult, Faye rushes to make amends only to see Anna getting in a taxi and leaving the street...

Eileen and Julie go for a drink in the Rovers, while Todd enjoys his space back at the house. Alya is also feeling swamped by Sharif and Yasmeen as they distract themselves by fussing around her.

Wednesday 17th June

It's Sinead's first day back at the factory. Chesney is concerned that she is pushing herself too much but Beth assures him that she will keep an eye on her. Carla is glad to see Sinead back and urges her to speak with her if she needs any support. Alya is clearly still struggling with her grief which Sinead picks up on. Alya uses Sinead's return to make plans for the evening suggesting they go for celebratory drinks in the Bistro. Feeling Alya's pain, Sinead agrees even though she is already tired. Izzy, Sally, Beth and Julie tag along.

In the Bistro, Gary and Jason are also having a drink. Alya gets the first round in, and downs her drink which shocks the girls as they realise she is drinking alcohol. The girls don't say anything, as Alya heads to the bar to get her and Beth another drink. However Gary pipes up, concerned for his ex he warns her against drowning her sorrows in a bottle but Alya turns on Gary telling him that he caused trouble between her and her dad in his last few months meaning she has bad memories of him and he wasn't that concerned for her then. Gary is furious and storms out leaving Jason to join the girls who are all uncomfortable. Beth eventually realises she needs to take Sinead home, and all the girls begin to tail off leaving a drunk Alya with Jason.

Realising he needs to do something, he takes Alya back to the house to sober up. Jason takes good care of her as she gets upset, Jason compares his own loneliness to loosing Eva as Alya opens up about how isolated she feels, in the moment they share a passionate kiss and things escalate and they end up going upstairs together...

When Julie slips away from the Bistro, she is startled when she comes face-to-face with Brian. Unable to handle the situation, she runs away...

Gary pops in to see Faye and informs her and Tim that Anna has gone to visit her brother, Tim is concerned about Faye who seems quite down again but she makes peace with Sophie when she apologises.

Gail approaches Sarah and Bethany and comments that she hears congratulations is in order as she put on quite a show. Bethany questions what Gail is talking about and Sarah informs her that it's over between her and Callum. Bethany wants more answers but Sarah brushes it off telling her she doesn't need to know the details. While on a break from the Bistro, Steph pops over to see Gail and over a cup of tea she offers her sympathy in regards to Michael's departure. Gail appreciates the gesture and assures Steph she doesn't hold any grudge with her over the situation.

When Eileen turns down doing an extra shift for Lloyd to spend more time with Todd, Todd gets Sean and Billy caught up in a lie that they are having a night out to find Todd a new man so that she will do the shift. Once Eileen agrees to do the shift, Todd then convinces Billy and Sean that they do need to go out as Billy is a vicar and can't lie...

Friday 19th June 7:30

Alya wakes up next to Jason and instantly regrets their night together. Jason is uncomfortable at her horrified reaction as she scurries out of the Grimshaw house, she is seconds away from being caught by Sean and Billy. As she tries to rush home, she bumps into Chesney who lays into her for making Sinead over do it the day before. Chesney points out that Sinead is now in pain due to Alya's drinks idea. Alya distracted brushes it off as she looks for her keys. She manages to sneak into the house without Yasmeen and Sharif realising that she has been out all night.

When she gets into her room and begins to get change, the reality of what she has done hits her and she breaks down while looking in the mirror. She pulls herself together and heads into work. When she gets into the office, Carla is waiting for her. Carla has had a call from the difficult client she met on Monday and wants to know what happened. Alya tries to defend herself, Carla reminds her that she warned her but she was insistent that she would be able to cope but instead she has lost them a very important contract. Alya bites back, being rude to Carla and putting her in her place. Carla tells Alya she is lucky that she isn't firing her and sends her home to calm down. Outside she bumps into Jason and as she ignores him it is clear she is letting things get too much for her.

At the Grimshaws a guilty Jason comes down for breakfast but his guilt is oblivious in the chaotic house. Sean and Billy are snipping about their night bring crashed by Todd when Eileen comes downstairs and is keen to know how the night went, while Todd joins and tells a story about a man who was giving him the eye from across the bar. Julie then crashes in with the news about Brian's return and how he has sent her a text asking to meet up today. Eileen and Sean convince Julie to hear Brian out because it could be in regards to the flat rather than looking for a reunion.

Jason escapes to work, where his mind is elsewhere. He feels guilty when he bumps into Gary, and avoids a conversation with his friend. Julie later meets with Brian for lunch and is surprised when he tells her about the round the world trip they have won, and Brian wants them to go together. Julie is taken aback. Eileen pushes Sean about his night out and Sean makes a comment which leaves Eileen questioning what happened just as Julie bursts in with the news about the world trip. Eileen is left trying to help Julie get her head together and make a decision.

Roy is concerned when he hasn't heard from Cathy once again, after her run in with Alya, Carla agrees to run him to her house and they find themselves in the centre of a situation as the bailiffs are trying to force access to her house. Roy offers to pay them, but Cathy relents and lets them in. However the bailiffs leave empty handed. Roy and Carla are confused until Cathy shows them inside, she is a hoarder...

Friday 19th June 8:30

Leanne and Zeedan are leaving the flat when they notice a for sale sign going up outside the gym, Zeedan confronts Dev who admits it's the only option they have now. Zeedan refuses to accept that and storms over to the Nazir household followed by a concerned Leanne. Alya returns home just as Zeedan is kicking off about Sharif agreeing with Dev to sell the gym. Zeedan tells Sharif that he wants Kal's life insurance money to rebuild the gym. Yasmeen and Sharif are startled and end up agreeing. Leanne is concerned about Alya who is clearly distressed as she lashes out at them all for the bickering before walking out again.

Alya is startled when she then runs into Gary, Leanne watches from a distance as they share an awkward exchange after the events of last night. Alya apologises for her cold words and Gary agrees to forget what was said. Alya then rushes off and Leanne follows, she takes her to flat to chat and Alya opens up to Leanne about sleeping with Jason. Leanne assures Alya that Jason is a decent lad and urges her to speak with him. Alya seeks Jason out at the yard and they agree to forget their night together and keep it a secret. Alya is then clearly relieved...

Julie meets with Brian again and agrees to travel the world with him, however warns him that it is just as friends, as she has only just had her heart broken and he did that once too. They then excitedly plan their trip together...

Eileen can't let go of Sean's comment from early and confronts him about it. Sean is forced to admit that they night out only happened because she has been smothering Todd. Eileen speaks with Todd about it and Todd admits that he has been having a tough time but he needs to get over it in his own way and asks Eileen to back off, he will come to her if he needs her. Eileen apologises, telling Todd she loves him and hates to see him so low.

Carla can't believe what she is seeing. For Roy everything begins to make sense and he promises to help Cathy overcome this and get her home back. Later Carla airs her concerns to Tyrone about the situation and he decides to call Fiz home...

Monday 22nd June 7:30

Brian and Julie are preparing to leave Weatherfield behind. Julie tells Mary about her upcoming departure as she is collecting a few things from the shop and startled Mary rushes to tell Dev. Dev gets a shock also, and rushes to see Julie and begs her not to leave. Julie asks why she should stay and Dev tells her that he still wants her to be part of the children's lives. Julie tells Dev he is cruel to use the children against her happiness. Dev relents when she explains that she and Brian aren't back together, and he leaves feeling guilty for the way he has treated her.

Eileen turns up to help Julie pack for the trip and over their heart-to-heart, Eileen makes Julie consider her future with Brian pointing out how fate has brought them back together. Considering her options, Julie heads to the factory and hands in her notice and then says an emotional goodbye to her work mates.

Fiz arrives back in a rant about Cilla. She has just discovered that Cilla has been lying for weeks and her condition had improved, she just didn't want to be alone again. Ty is glad to see her and welcomes her back into the house. Ty explains to Fiz what has happened with Cathy, and Fiz agrees to sort it out but says there is something she needs to do first and drops in on Sinead and Chesney. She apologises to Sinead for not being around for her, and checks to see how Chesney is coping, Fiz is surprised when Chesney gets emotional as he has been holding it together for so long.

After this visit she heads to the cafe to find Roy is out. Getting the address from Carla, Fiz heads to Cathy's where Roy is helping her sort through things. Roy is surprised to find Fiz on the doorstep and invites her in but Roy soon picks up on the negative atmosphere between Fiz and Cathy and suggest they call things a day...

Dev pays Sharif a visit and asks about Zeedan's claims that they are going to use the life insurance money to rebuild the gym. Sharif asks Dev to keep it to himself but he is keen to sell it off so that he can resolve things with Liz but asks him to humour Zeedan for the time being while they figure out the best way to resolve things, and asks him to keep the gym on the market but remove the sign outside. Dev agrees, offering to help in any way he can. Zeedan is full of ideas and Leanne is glad to see the sparkle back in his eye. While thinking it's the best way forward Yasmeen puts pressure on Alya to object to the money being used for the gym but is disappointed when she agrees to it.

Monday 22nd June 8:30

After saying goodbye to her work mates Julie heads to Dev's to say goodbye to the Twins only to discover they are out. Mary is uncomfortable as she watches the awkward exchange between Dev and Julie. Leaving the house, disappointed that she didn't get to say goodbye, Julie bumps into Brian and they talk on the bench outside the salon.

Julie explains how she feels about how things went between them and how things have went with Dev, Julie tells Brian that she wants to see how things go between them before they make any decision for the future but doesn't object to the idea of reuniting which clearly delights him, and they share a small kiss.

Collecting the rest of her things, Julie says goodbye to her flat before heading to the Grimshaws where Brian is packing up Lloyd's taxi. Eileen, Todd, Jason, Sean and Billy all turn out to say goodbye. Mary appears and she and Julie share a hug with Julie telling Mary to look after the Twins for her. Just as Lloyd is about to drive off, Dev arrives with the Twins and Julie gets to say goodbye to them before getting into the cab, holding Brian's hand and heading off on the adventure of a life time...

Roy heads back to the cafe with Fiz where Carla and Tyrone are waiting on them. Roy wants to know what Fiz's issue with Cathy is, and Fiz admits her concerns that she is using him. Roy is furious and rages at Fiz to stay out of his business as she has no idea what has been going on. Fiz looks to Carla and Tyrone for back up, but even they admit that Fiz has the wrong idea. Roy asks Fiz to leave the cafe and she heads home with Ty and is clearly annoyed at him as she has misunderstood what he has been trying to say to her.

Sharif and Yasmeen are concerned about Zeedan's plans to reopen the gym and come to the conclusion that he will realise the enormity of the idea and be put off.

Wednesday 24th June

Danny is amused by Tracy being ill assuming it's hangover from drinking all the wine that was in the fridge. Keen to get rid of her, he convinces her to go to the Rovers for an heir of the dog. However when Tracy finds herself spotting Carla necking a glass of wine she can't help but pipe up that she shouldn't be drinking. Overhearing Michelle realises what Tracy means and orders Carla in the back to talk.

Tracy then begins to freak out and leaves the pub and runs directly into Andrea. Andrea realises that Tracy isn't looking too good and concerned for her she follows her to the shop where Tracy reveals what is on her mind by buying a pregnancy test. Andrea tells Tracy she doesn't need to do this alone and instead of going into the Barlows they go back to her flat.

At the flat, Tracy takes the test and waits anxiously on the results, when it comes back positive, Andrea asks what she is going to do and Tracy tells her that she has already lost children, she can't loose another. When Andrea asks about the fire, Tracy looks startled and comments that it's complicated.

In the back room of the Rovers Michelle asks Carla how long she has known she is pregnant and Carla admits since the fire. Michelle rages at Carla that she has been drinking since then, and Carla admits she doesn't know if she wants to keep the baby and hasn't been able to give up the drink yet. Michelle tells Carla she needs to get her head together and make a decision.

As Carla leaves the pub she runs into Nick, and it's awkward between them which Nick picks up on. Returning to the cafe, Carla looks at herself in the mirror and makes her decision clear by pouring the wine in the fridge down the sink...

Danny has Dawud over and they spend the afternoon together, Danny assures Dawud that he is going to get what he is owed from Ken and will get them a flat together so they can start their life together properly.

Luke and Tyrone are annoyed when they spot Maria and Fiz snipping at one another as they pass each other in the street. Luke tells Tyrone it's time they helped them put the past to rest, realising they need a neutral ground to help them make peace, they call out to Beth who is passing the garage for help... while Fiz wants to make amends with Roy but Ty advises her to give him some space.

Roy returns to Cathy's and apologises for Fiz's attitude the day before, Cathy is concerned that she is coming between Roy and his friends, but he distracts them both by setting a goal to clear enough space for Cathy to sit down.

Friday 26th June 7:30

Tracy is ill again, and Danny shows a bit more concern in regards to her drinking but when she gets herself together Tracy admits to Danny that she is pregnant. Danny is surprisingly supportive and offers to go to the doctors with Tracy to confirm it. At the surgery, Tracy is clearly uncomfortable when they bump into Liz but Danny covers saying he has the appointment.

Tracy is startled when the doctor confirms her pregnancy, and as they leave the surgery they run into Andrea who once again offers her support. Tracy then heads to the Rovers to collect Amy, she finds Steve alone in the back room and considers telling him the truth but Michelle and Carla interrupt and Carla reveals her decision to keep the baby. Uncomfortable Tracy makes a swift exit which Carla notices.

Beth is excited about Ty and Luke's plan and prepares for the couples BBQ at her house. Kirk, Sinead and Chesney also get into the spirit of things. Fiz and Tyrone arrive first and Fiz enjoys catching up with her friends but the atmosphere changes when Maria and Luke arrive. Kirk and Beth both speak up urging the two old friends to lay the past to rest but Fiz is reluctant and annoyed at her friends and family rushes upstairs to the bathroom. Maria follows her upstairs and sits outside the bathroom talking to Fiz. Maria explains why she did what she did, and honestly apologises for letting Fiz and Ty down, Fiz can't help but be moved by Maria's honesty and opens the bathroom and agrees to make peace, and they shake hands on it before returning to the BBQ and enjoying the rest of the party.

After achieving their goal yesterday, Roy is keen to take bigger steps to improve Cathy's living environment but Cathy decides it's time she returned the favour and helps Roy to book in his driving test...

Friday 26th June 8:30

Carla arrives at the Barlows to see Tracy just as Danny is heading out. Carla confronts Tracy about her reaction to her pregnancy news last night, using her own insecurities to explain Tracy's reaction by asking if she thinks she is going to be a bad mother. Tracy reacts by telling Carla she can't judge anyone’s parenting skills leaving Carla confused. Tracy admits she has just discovered she is pregnant. Putting the pieces together, Carla assumes Tony is the father and advises her to speak with Liz if she ever wants to make peace with her. Tracy is startled by Carla's thoughts as to who the father is by can't bring herself to correct her.

Concerned by what Carla has commented on, Tracy heads out looking for Danny as she wants to speak with him but finds him in a secret tryst with Dawud assuring him that he understands it's difficult but they need to play the long game to get what they want from Ken. Tracy is furious and returns home alone.

Maria is visiting Anne again, Maria speaks with Anne about how being honest with one of her old friends last night has helped rebuild their friendship so she has decided to be honest with Carla. Anne tells Maria that is for the best because she is being released as the end of next month. Startled by the revelation, Maria heads back to the street.

After her chat with Tracy, Carla seeks out Nick and asks him to meet her back at the cafe, Nick and Carla make awkward chit chat but it's clear Carla is preparing to be honest with Nick but the moment is interrupted when Maria arrives insisting to speak with Carla. Nick leaves them to it, and Carla is annoyed that she is interrupted, leaving Maria to question her relationship with Nick but Carla brushes it off as them discussing the rebuild of Victoria Court.

Maria then tells Carla to sit down as she has some news for her. She explains to a bemused Carla that she has been to visit Anne following the letter than Sally received on Michelle's wedding day. Carla is angry that they have kept this from her but that all fades when Maria reveals that Anne is being released next month and wants to make amends. Carla tells Maria she can't face this and asks her to leave. Alone in the cafe, Carla breaks down unable to handle everything any longer...

Fiz invites Roy and Cathy over for dinner and is glad when they both attend. Fiz makes a real effort which Tyrone is impressed with. It's awkward at first but they all settle and enjoy the night. Once Roy and Cathy go to leave, Fiz apologises for the previous events admits she just cares about Roy. Roy and Cathy accept her apology.

Gary is chatting away with Roy on the street when he suddenly realises which day it is and that he needs to collect Jake, as he dashes off down the street he bumps into Emily sending her shopping all over the street and leaves her to pick it up alone. Feeling guilty, he later drops in to see Emily with Jake. Norris is rude, but Emily sends him to the Rovers to let them talk. Gary apologises, explaining to Emily that he had forgot to collect Jake with everything that has happened with Kal and baby Miley he is loosing track of everything. Realising how Gary is struggling, Emily accepts his apology and asks for his help in fixing a dodgy table leg, which distracts him from his thoughts.

Coronation Street producers have announced today the departure of five main characters from the serial over the Summer months. Chesney Brown, Sinead Tinker, Sophie Webster, Izzy Armstrong and Callum Logan are the five named casualties.

Young couple Chesney and Sinead will depart in the coming weeks as Sinead's disability story comes to ahead. Chesney played by fan favorite Sam Aston has been with the show since 2003 when he was introduced as a child character. Over the years Chesney has been involved with many major stories, usually involving his difficult mother but in later years his relationships with Katie Armstrong and Sinead Tinker have seen him develop into a mature young lad, however it was the lads friendship with his dog Schemichael for which he will always be remembered. Sinead is a relative newcomer to the show, but niece to regular character Beth Tinker, her departure will have an effect on those left behind.

Sophie Webster played by Brooke Vincent has grown up on the show. The character of Sophie has been in the show since birth, however Brooke took over the role in 2004 and has carried the character through her most harrowing storylines which include coming out to her family, being left paralyzed for a short period of time and her difficult relationship with recent departee Maddie. Brooke is a fan favorite, and also popular within the media so this departure will come as a shock to fans of the show.

Izzy Armstrong played by Cherylee Houston is the shows first main disabled character and was part of the Armstrong/Windass clan which has recently been disbanded by the departure of her father Owen and sister Katie. Izzy also has a son, Jake with main character Gary Windass (Mikey North) who will stay on in the show.

The final departure is newcomer Callum Logan played by Sean Ward. Callum is the ex of regular Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) and has been embroiled in a court battle with son Max's stepdad David Platt (Jack P Shepard) for custody of the child. As this story comes to ahead later in the Summer, the bad boy character will depart but will it be with or without his son Max?

In more positive news, recent axed character Zeedan Nazir has been given a reprieve by the show and actor Qasim Akhtar has signed a new contract. However the rest of his family, grandparents Sharif and Yasmeen, and sister Alya will still continue to depart the program. This is followed by a recent wave of departures which includes Les Dennis as Michael Rodwell, his fake son Gavin/Andy played by Oliver Farnworth, Claire King as Erika Holroyd, Jimi Mistry as Kal Nazir, Amy Kelly as Maddie Heath and Katy Cavanagh as Julie Carp.

A Coronation Street spokesman refused to comment on the departures but did confirm that the named characters are due to make their departure from the street.

Monday 29th June 7:30

Maria is keen to talk to Carla after the events the other day and is knocking on the cafe door first thing. Carla refuses to let Roy open the door until she has gone, and Roy airs his concerns as to the state of Carla's life once again. Carla brushes it off and gets ready to head to work. As she heads down the street, Maria pounces from the Salon trying to talk to Carla. Michelle and Steve are packing up the car ahead of their trip to Ireland, and Carla warns Michelle to get Maria away from her before she does something she regrets. Michelle directs Maria back inside and is startled to learn she has been to see Anne, while Carla heads off to the factory.

Sally is getting on Carla's nerves at the factory and she ends up snapping, confronting her about the letter that Anne sent her. Sally is taken aback and is honest with Carla about what Anne had written to her. Unable to deal with the situation, Carla escapes the factory and runs straight into Nick and Leanne who can see she is distressed.

Leanne takes her back to the flat for a cuppa and a chat, while Nick heads back to the Bistro promising to catch up with Carla later, reminding her that she wanted to talk on Friday but Maria interrupted. Carla opens up to Leanne about her feelings in regards to Frank and the rape being re-awoken after all this time thanks to Maria. Carla explains to Leanne the mess her life was at the time and apologises for hurting Leanne by the affair being revealed at the trial and admits if it wasn't for Peter she wouldn't have made it through that period. Leanne takes Carla's hand and reminds her that is all in the past, and she needs to look to her future. Carla leaves the flat, and it is clear she has something on her mind.

While Tracy is disappointed as she sees Michelle and Steve happy as they head off to visit her parents in Ireland, and she gives Danny the cold shoulder after what she overheard on Friday.

Callum arrives to collect Max, David and Kylie are still feeling a little smug after embarrassing him in the Rovers. As Callum leaves the Platts he is startled to find his brother Barry waiting for him on the street, in his fancy sports car and is keen to take his brother and nephew for a spin. Callum is clearly anxious as he introduces Max to his uncle. Later as they stop off at the park, Callum ends up opening up to Barry about the way David and Kylie got one up on him and reminds him Max is his priority...

Norris is concerned when he notices a leak in the bathroom but tries to disguise it from Emily. Heading off to work, he is clearly concerned about his finances and starts to organise a Summer Sale in the Kabin to Rita and Mary's amusement as business is always slower in the Summer. Later at home, Emily notices Norris' attempts to cover up the leak and as she tries to investigate only makes the situation worse...

Monday 29th June 8:30

Carla heads from Leanne's to the Bistro, wanting to talk to Nick, he is busy so keeps trying to grab a moment with her to talk. But each time, he gets dragged away by staff or customers so Carla can't get to say what she wants to say. When Barry Logan drops in to check out the place, and starts flirting with Carla, Nick gets jealous and interrupts taking Carla into the office so they can talk alone. Nick is started by the revelation that Carla is pregnant, and less than impressed by his reaction, she leaves to give him time to get his head around things.

Sally drops in on Maria and confronts her as to what she was thinking visiting Anne herself. Maria admits she feels a sense of responsibility for the events all those years ago as he first tried to force himself on her. Sally reminds Maria that the only guilty party in that situation was Frank, but he has gone now and no point dragging it back up. After her chat with Nick, Carla drops in on Maria herself and tells her to visit Anne and warn her to stay away from her as she is looking to the future, not her past.

Barry swans into the Platt's with Max instead of Callum which really rocks Kylie who is startled to see him again after all these years. David notices Kylie's reaction to Barry who introduces himself as Callum's brother and warns David that he never gives up. Once Barry has gone, David wants to know everything about him from Kylie but she is very quiet on the subject and just admits that if David thinks Callum is bad, then Barry is much, much worse.

Norris heads home after work to find Emily trying to attend to the leak and realising it's much worse that he thought, calls Jason to have a look at it. Jason turns off he water, and quotes Norris a price but admits he won't be able to get to it until later in the week. Emily has an idea and gives Gary a call and he offers to do it cheaper and instantly which leaves Norris relieved, and thankful.

Wednesday 1st July

Nick is useless at the Bistro, his mind is clearly elsewhere and it takes for Leanne to step up and telling him to go home for him to realise. Leanne is startled when Nick asks her if he thinks he will be a good dad and Leanne comments that he is fantastic with Simon which makes Nick smile. David interrupts, keen to escape the house so Nick joins his brother for a drink. David moans about how odd Kylie has been since Barry made his appearance but Nick is still lost in thought which leads David to question him as to what is wrong.

David is clearly cheerful when Nick admits about Carla's pregnancy but soon realises that Nick is having doubts about the situation. Nick admits he is concerned over his brain damage and where he is at in his life, worried he will not make for a good father. David tells Nick their will never be a good time and he is looking for excuses. Nick realises David is correct and also comments that it is good to see him and Kylie back together, David surprises Nick by being honest that he and Kylie are pretending to be together so they can keep Max. Nick tells David by the time it gets to court they will have sorted things out. David is left thinking, while Nick goes off to find Carla.

Nick finds Carla at Roy's and is open with her about his concerns about himself, but tells Carla he will support her through this and can't wait to be a dad. Carla is delighted and tells Nick that they have the first scan on Friday.

Liz is working in the Rovers. Jason is having a drink after work when Gary arrives. Gary tells him he has been skipping having a drink for his birthday last week with him so won't let him go home until he has had a drink with him. Gary is clearly feeling guilty about stealing Norris' job from Jason and is honest with him about it. Jason laughs it off, but takes on board when Gary admits missing the build trade. Jason offers him a job, but Gary realises he won't be able to work at the cafe any longer but comments he may need to find a night job to earn extra pennies which Liz overhears. As the night goes on, Jason's guilt becomes too much for him and he admits his one night stand with Alya to Gary. Jason apologises and explains the situation, Gary is surprisingly understanding and realising Alya is ashamed, agrees to keep it to himself. Relieved, Jason heads home and Liz grabs Gary and offers to train him for a job behind the bar. Gary is delighted.

Norris is also having a drink in the Rovers, clearly having had a bad day as Rita and Mary have been laughing at his attempts of a sale in the Kabin. Liz is forced to listen to him whine as he gets drunk. Barry arrives, and questions the locals about Kylie but everyone says very little until he asks Norris who is quite happy to fill him in, for a drink. Kylie later drops in, looking for David and is concerned to see Barry mixing with the locals. He follows her out and comments that he has heard all about her antics. Commenting on swapping brothers, he adds that it isn't the first time she has had both brothers and asks how David would react if he discovered it wasn't only just Lily's parentage that was questioned, and asks if she has ever doubted her decision that Callum was the dad of Max. Refusing to listen to any more, she runs off home.

Luke, Kevin and Ty are also having a drink and a game of darts in the Rovers. Kevin's mind is still elsewhere and when his phone rings he rushes to grab it, knocking a pint all over Luke. It is a sales call and Kevin apologises, but Luke bites his head off telling Kevin he needs to get his act together. Since Jenny he is either distracted, moody or just doesn't turn up for work at all. Annoyed Luke heads home to get changed and Ty listens to Kevin as he opens up about his concerns for Jack, admitting that his lad isn't sleeping very well since the balcony incident.

Friday 3rd July 7:30

Nick and Carla are both nervous as they wait at the hospital for the first scan, they go in together and Nick holds Carla's hand. Carla airs her concerns to the midwife due to her drinking and her previous miscarriage and both Carla and Nick are clearly moved when they see their baby for the first time and it appears healthy. Delighted the pair head back to the street together and Carla agrees that Nick can tell his family now that they have had the scan and Carla suggests she break the news to Leanne now they are repairing their friendship.

Kevin heads to the garage and apologises to Luke for the night before and tells him he is correct he needs to get his head together so is going to take some time off to do that. Kevin heads home to spend the day with Jack and he decides to take him to the Kabin for sweets. Sophie is working away in the shop, with Dev in the office and Mary pops in spotting Sophie on her laptop questions her and Sophie admits she is applying for last minute Uni courses. However this moment is interrpted as outside Kevin panics thinking he has spotted Jenny at the end of the street and grabs Jack off the street and rushes into the shop and cowers in the corner trying to protect him. Sophie, Mary and Dev are startled. Dev rushes out to see if he can see Jenny, while Mary rushes to get Rita who is at the Kabin with a hungover Norris. Sophie manages to calm Kevin down and she with Rita takes a distressed Kevin home and he breaks down in Rita's arms.

Kylie heads to Callum's local and waits until he has gone out before entering to speak with Barry. In the back room Kylie tells Barry that they still didn't sleep together that night. Barry makes it clear he still doesn't believe Kylie's story but she fights back reminding him that he won't tell David anything anyway because he doesn't want the repercussions within his own family. Barry agrees but warns Kylie not to stop Callum getting access to his son. Kylie agrees to support access but not Callum keeping Max full time.

Gary hands his notice in at Roy's and is thankful for all the help and support he has given him but Roy understands that he wants to return to his trade.

Friday 3rd July 8:30

Nick has gathered his family at the Platt house to break the news about Carla. He is clearly very nervous about sharing the news, but surprisingly all the Platts are very supportive except Bethany who doesn't really seem bothered until the pub is mentioned only for Sarah to send her to do her homework! The Platts head to the Rovers to celebrate the news, with Gail telling Nick she is proud that he is going to stand by Carla, when Carla later joins them she is overwhelmed by the support.

Carla heads to the Bistro and catches Leanne as she finishes shift, she tells Leanne about Nick and the baby and Leanne thanks her for being honest with her. Leanne tells Carla that she will tell Simon as she isn't sure how he will take the news. Leanne tells Simon when she gets back at the flat, Simon clearly finds the news uncomfortable and insults Leanne by commenting that she couldn't make Nick or Peter happy so they both had to go elsewhere. Leanne is hurt by the comment especially when Simon tells her she is a disappointment as a mother.

Having calmed down, Kevin is relieved when Sophie confirms with the hospital that Jenny is still with them. Rita urges Kevin to unwind so he escapes to the Rovers for a few drinks after settling Jack and leaving Sophie to look after him. Mary approaches Kevin and joins him for a drink, concerned after the events earlier. The pair end up enjoying each others company and end up drunk together, as they walk home, Kevin suggests a night cap and Mary agrees. As they have a drink, the atmosphere changes and Kevin kisses Mary, startled she kisses him back and he leads her upstairs. The night is interrupted when Jack starts having night terrors and Kevin leaps out of bed to comfort him, Sophie is concerned that he has wet the bed as Kevin cuddles his son and Mary hides in Kevin's bedroom clearly ashamed...

Gary arrives at the Rovers for his first shift, Sean is put out that Liz has taken on another man part time and makes his first shift difficult but Liz is impressed with the way he handles things, especially when the Platts arrive on mass to celebrate Nick's news.

Monday 6th July 7:30

Kevin has had a long weekend as Jack has been difficult. He calls into the garage and tells Tyrone and Luke that he needs to take the day off. Sophie is concerned when a tired Kevin returns home and is left running around after her brother. When Sophie airs her concerns, the moment is ruined as Jack throws a massive stop throwing his dinner all over the living room. Kevin disciplines his son and puts him to his bed. He leaves Sophie looking after him while he slips out to the shop to get something to clean up the mess. Mary is in the shop chatting away to Dev and she soon panics when she spots Kevin enter. Mary makes her excuses and leaves, trying to hurry away in shame but she runs directly into Norris who stops her for a chat as Mary desperately tries to get away but she has little luck and Kevin awkwardly catches up with her. An exhausted Kevin kindly brushes off their night together but it is clear Mary is crushed and mortified.

Back at the house Kevin is clearly struggling, and after cleaning up the mess Jack made with his food, he is then concerned to discover that Jack has wet the bed again. While Mary escapes to the Rovers, she ends up loosing her cool with Norris when he rants on about the younger generations loose morals and upset by her rude behaviour he leaves. Liz overseeing the exchange offers a few words of support to Mary and she soon bursts into tears. Concerned Liz offers her a shoulder to cry on and Mary opens up about her one night stand with a friend, Liz assures her that is nothing to worry about in this day in age but it soon becomes apparent that it was Mary's first time. Liz is surprisingly quite a support for Mary and she thanks her for her kind words.

Michelle and Steve arrive back from Ireland, Carla arranges for them to have dinner with her and Nick in the Bistro, and Michelle being Michelle invites Maria and Luke along in the hope of making peace following the Anne incident. Leanne is working at the Bistro and is clearly less than impressed when the crowd arrive and it is clear that Carla is less than impressed to be facing Maria. While things get more awkward when Andrea and Tracy arrive for a drink...

With Tracy out for the night, Danny invites Dawud over and is clearly delighted to spend time with him, however Todd is startled when he sees them kissing on the doorstep. After calming down, Todd turns up on the Barlows doorstep under the guise of looking for Tracy and invites himself in leaving Dawud hiding upstairs as Todd decides to wait on Tracy coming home.

Monday 6th July 8:30

When Liz mentions being hungry, keen to thank her for her supportive words Mary insists making her something to eat and impressed by her meal, the conversation leads to Liz agreeing to try Mary as the Rovers cook and to start a new menu, alongside the faithful hotpot of course.

At the Bistro there is clearly an atmosphere between Carla and Maria. Luke, Nick and Steve try to lighten the mood. But Michelle puts her foot down and warns the pair to stop being so stubborn leaving Carla to loose her cool and lay into Maria for her betrayal. Maria is quick to bite back and it escalates with Carla clearly being hurt when Maria reminds her that she never listened to her about Frank in the first place. Realising she has gone to far, Maria makes a hasty exit leaving Luke to follow her back to the flat. While Andrea and Tracy both watch the awkward dinner party and end up bitching about Michelle as they are both clearly jealous of her happy marriage to Steve.

Back at the flat, Luke's attempts to support Maria fall apart when he comments that Carla isn't as bad as she makes her out to be. Maria questions his comment, pushing him into admitting that he once nearly had a one night stand with her. Horrified Maria tells Luke to get out and is left sitting alone and she looks at a visiting order from Anne...

Danny awkwardly makes conversation with Todd as he waits on Tracy coming home. Eventually having enough, Danny awkwardly admits he has someone in the house and Todd admits that he knew. Todd asks Danny how long it took him to move on after him and from Danny's awkward reaction Todd realises he never moved on. Hurt, Todd escapes leaving Danny feeling even more guilty. Tracy is confused as Todd bumps into her on her way home, and is disappointed in Danny as she tries to have a go at him the moment is interrupted by a phone call from Ken. He will be home tomorrow and Tracy is excited about her parents return.

Wednesday 8th July

Tracy is delighted that her parents are returning today. Not even Danny's drama can bring her down today, she has arranged for Audrey to drop in and sort her hair, while Liz is arranging a surprise party for Deirdre's birthday at the Rovers.

As Audrey is trying to do her hair, Todd arrives and informs her about Danny's secret boyfriend Tracy awkwardly admits she knew and warned Danny when she discovered to let him down gently but she never expected it to escalate to him attempting to kill himself, both Danny and Tracy apologise for what happened but Todd is too upset to accept and walks out.

Tracy sits back down to finish getting her hair done, when Ken arrives home with Bev instead of Deirdre. It all sinks into place as Ken reveals that Deirdre passed away last night. Tracy is heartbroken, Danny disappears into the background and Audrey is very apologetic to Ken for his loss.

As the news sinks in and Tracy starts looking for answers, a crowd has begun to gather at the Rovers. Liz has asked Mary to prepare food and Steve and Michelle are helping behind the bar. Rita, Norris and Emily have arrived, Eileen is joined by Jason, Llod and Andrea while Dev, Roy and Nick also put in an appearance as Nick waits on Carla joining him. While at the flat Leanne is trying to convince a moody Simon to attend the party.

Realising she is invading a private moment, Audrey offers to pass the news on to the party at the Rovers and Ken thanks her for her assistance. Ken tries to gently explain to Tracy that Deirdre has been ill for awhile and didn't want to burden Tracy with her sickness, Tracy begins to get erratic and it is left to Danny to calm her down. Bev's gentle words about Deirdre's illness and passing eventually appease her but it is clearly she is disappointed that she wasn't informed. When Bev puts Deirdre's glasses on the dinning table, Ken and Tracy both fall apart.

While Audrey arrives at the Rovers and breaks the news to the crowd that has gathered. Liz especially takes the news badly and has to escape to the smoking area with her thoughts. Emily is very upset and is led home by a concerned Norris and Rita while Roy and Nick head off to inform Carla and Leanne. Roy finds Carla in the cafe preparing to head to the party and is startled by the news while Leanne although is upset is more concerned with telling Simon who has shut himself away in his room.

Friday 10th July 7:30

It's the morning after, as the news about Deirdre's passing begins to sink in.

Liz arrives at the Barlows to pay her respects. She apologises for not coming sooner but she didn't want to invade last night, Ken gently tells Liz she is always welcome in his home as she was Deirdre's best friend. Liz awkwardly passes her condolences to Tracy before commenting that Steve has waited to tell Amy in case she wanted to be there. This sets Tracy off as she gets upset at the thought of Amy's reaction, she pulls herself together and heads next door leaving Ken, Bev and Liz to discuss Deirdre and her death.

In the Rovers, Steve and Michelle pay their respects to Tracy before offering to join her in speaking to Amy but Tracy decides she needs to do this alone and step up as a mother as Deirdre would've done it for her. Tracy joins Amy in the living room and breaks the news and cradles her daughter as she gets upset after asking some difficult questions.

Danny escapes the house and hides out at the cafe instead where an awkward Todd comes across him. Todd realises he is hiding, and puts him in his place telling him this is his time to step up, get to know his father and be there for him and not waste this chance as he wished he even had an idea who his father was. Danny is left thinking and returns home, finding Ken alone he offers him a shoulder of support and makes him a cup of tea and it's an upsetting moment for Ken as Danny uses Deirdre's mug.

Tracy returns home from telling Amy and is clearly emotional but is glad to see that Danny and Ken seem to be bonding, the moment between all three is broken as Carla drops in to pay her respects. Ken and Tracy both appreciate the gesture, but as they discuss Deirdre it becomes too much for Ken who escapes to the ginnel for air where Steve finds him and he breaks down in Steve's arms.

Having heard the news, Zeedan drops in to see how Simon has taken the news but Leanne still hasn't brought herself to tell him. Zeedan supports her as she breaks the news and Simon locks himself in his room. Zeedan manages to talk him out and he seeks support from him.

Norris is concerned about Emily who hasn't slept well, Emily is clearly upset and when he bumps into Gary asks him to pay her a visit, Gary manages to get through to Emily and she seeks comfort from her new friend.

As the news sinks in, Eileen is clearly upset that she won't see her friend again, however she is touched when Gail puts their history behind them and offers her some words of support, knowing how close she was to Deirdre.

Friday 10th July 8:30

As Deirdre was ill she has made most of the plans for her funeral herself. Emily arrives with Billy to organise the service and it soon becomes clear that Tracy is struggling with her resentment towards Ken that he got to be with Deirdre in the end. Ken gets frustrated when Tracy is being difficult with the preparations, and storms out of the room and is followed by Bev.

Ken and Bev have a conversation which reveals why Deirdre didn't want Tracy by her bedside, she knew that Tracy was selfish and as much as she loved her, her death would have became another drama, and she was angry with her for hurting Liz.

After calming Ken down, Bev brings him back into the living room and they continue with the wedding plans while Tracy's idea for music at the funeral surprisingly brings her and Ken together as they discuss old memories of Deirdre. Once everyone has gone, Tracy admits to her dad that she is scared Deirdre had given up on her and Ken assures her that Deirdre will never give up on her.

Danny escapes the meeting to meet up with Dawud, Danny shocks Dawud with the news of Deirdre's death and tells him that the plan is off, he can't con his dad anymore. Not now he is at his lowest and Dawud is surprisingly understanding and reminds Danny he just wants to be with him. Danny ends up cracking as well as the stress of the week becomes too much and Dawud supports him.

Leanne tries to be understanding to Simon but he rejects her attempts at supporting him and turns on her, he lashes out knocking Leanne over and she bashes her face off the wall as she walls and is clearly distressed and shaken by what Simon has done. As Leanne cowers from her son, he is clearly shaken by his own reaction and locks himself back in his room.

Liz arrives at the cab office where Eileen, Steve, Andrea and Lloyd are discussing Deirdre, she joins them and it's not long before Andrea has got the wine down from the flat upstairs. As they all get drunk and relive old memories, it is clear that Liz is struggling with the passing of her best friend but she is startled when a drunk Andrea lets slip to her that Tracy is pregnant...

Monday 13th July 7:30

It's the morning of Deirdre's funeral. As Tracy fuses around trying to make sure everything is going to go perfect, Ken fades into the background. Amy is getting dressed, Danny is tasked with trying to contact Peter and Tracy is trying to convince Ken to write a speech. It all becomes too much for Ken who looks in the mirror and escapes the house by commenting that his hair isn't right leaving Tracy startled as he disappears.

Ken heads over to the salon, where David is working alone, he is looking for Audrey but David offers to sort out his hair. As David tidies up Ken's hair for him, he gently brings up the funeral and Ken finds himself opening up to David that Tracy was going on about his speech but he is completely at a loss as to what to say. David admits he doesn't know how Ken can do it, admitting he was a mess when Kylie left him, let alone passed, but he tells Ken that it's human nature to be honest at a difficult time and urges him to speak his truth. Spurred on, Ken leaves the salon only to be greeted by the arrival of the hearse.

The locals gather to see Deirdre off, Emily and Rita notice Robert Preston lurking in the background with Emily commenting that he seems familiar. Liz leaves Michelle and Mary in charge at the Rovers to prepare for the wake and is clearly startled when she comes face-to-face with Tracy, a concerned Andrea asks if she said too much the other night but Liz assures her not to worry today is about Deirdre, not Tracy for once. Beth makes it clear to a quiet Tracy that she is there for her, while as Carla and Roy prepare to head to the funeral, Carla overhears Simon comment on his excitement to see his father today and she changes her mind, telling Roy to go on without her. Ken makes the decision to head on as he Peter may meet them at the church.

At the church, Deirdre has received a good turn out. Ken, Tracy, Steve, Amy, Liz, Audrey, Bev, Emily, Rita, Norris, Robert, Leanne, Simon, Danny, Dawud, Maria, Gail, Dev, Roy, Eileen, Todd, Jason, Beth, Kirk, Kevin, Tim, Sally, Andrea and Lloyd all turn out as Billy prepares to lead the service. As they wait around on Peter, Billy prompts Ken to get the service started.

Kirk, Dev, Kevin, Danny and Steve all step up to carry the coffin, with Peter's place free many offer their services, Jason, Tim and Lloyd, however Ken agrees to let Liz do it. Inside Todd tells Dawud to sit with him, Eileen and Jason clearly showing a truce. Robert sneaks in at the back, hiding from Tracy. Roy and Dev clearly remember their loved ones. Leanne is overcome with emotion also when Maria comments that it seems so soon after Kal's passing.

The episode comes to a close as Ken follows the coffin in alongside Tracy, Amy and Simon...

Monday 13th July 8:30

As Billy begins to lead the service it is clearly emotional as Deirdre's loved ones say goodbye to her. Ken gets up and gives an emotional eulogy which clearly impresses a delighted Tracy as he speaks from the heart, as he returns to his seat the moment shifts when Tracy discovers that after them discussing music and songs the other day, Ken has chosen a different song, when Tracy confronts Ken he admits that Deirdre had already chosen her funeral songs and realising just how pushed out of the whole thing she has been, walks out and is followed by a concerned Robert...

Outside by Deirdre's grave, Tracy is startled in her grief to be reunited by Robert who can't help but reach out and comfort his ex as she admits she never got her chance to say goodbye, or sorry for letting Deirdre down over all the years. The moment is interrupted when Steve arrives to check on Tracy and she introduces both of her former partners.

At the graveside, Ken and Tracy are brought back together as they say a final goodbye to Deirdre as she is lowered into the ground.

Back at the Rovers, Deirdre's friends and family gather for the wake. Simon is in a strop that Peter never turned up and Tracy expresses her own disappointment. Bev begins snipping at Audrey commenting that she will soon be making a move on Ken, Liz startles Steve by pointing out that Tracy is avoiding alcohol for a reason, Dev and Roy share a tender moment of respect with Ken as they express how you move on from your grief which he appreciates. Emily has a little moment as she shares a hug with a clearly lost Tracy. Danny avoids Dawud so that his father doesn't get suspicious and eventually tells him to go home. Kevin admits his concerns to Tim and Sally about leaving Jack with Sophie as he is struggling, while Tim can't help but comment that he barely knows Deirdre. Maria and Michelle notice that Carla is missing, while Leanne notices Carla lingering outside as she escapes for air and calls out to her that Peter isn't around which causes Carla to go inside and pay her respects.

Watching Carla and Ken talk, an upset Tracy escapes home. Robert sees her heading home, and rushes over. Keen to catch up Tracy invites him inside. They have a brief catch up and Tracy finds herself opening up to Robert about her loss once again, and in the moment the former couple find themselves sharing a kiss. Next door, Ken follows Liz out into the yard as she is having a smoke and he admits it reminds him of Deirdre. Liz tells Ken that no one would think less of him if he wanted to escape now, and Ken decides to head home, walking in on Tracy and Roberts kiss and is less than impressed.

Heading back inside Liz bumps into Steve who checks that she is okay and Liz admits she just can't believe Tony is behind Deirdre's next grandchild which leaves Steve relieved. As Carla checks on Simon, the Rovers door opens to reveal a late arrival in Peter who is full of excuses but Simon is just relieved to see him while Carla disappears. Danny leads Peter back to the house to see Ken and Tracy and the pair walk in on the middle of a row after Ken has chucked Robert out...

Wednesday 15th July

Peter and Danny's interruption has stopped Ken and Tracy's argument in it's tracks and Peter is keen to get to the bottom of what the issue is, pushing for answers but Ken distracts him from it by questioning him about where he has been. As Ken is just glad to see Peter after his excuses, Tracy can't help but make snide comments clearly jealous. Danny watches in surprise as Ken bites back at Tracy, telling her she is nothing but a pathetic drama queen.

As Tracy tries to brush off the insult, Ken really lays down the law by revealing that the real reason she wasn't involved in Deirdre's illness and death was because Deirdre knew Tracy would make it all about her. She is selfish, and Deirdre wouldn't have had the attention she deserved. Tracy is clearly startled as Ken admits those were Deirdre's own thoughts. Danny tries to stick up for Tracy but Peter tells him to butt out as Tracy needs to hear this.

Ken continues more gently by revealing that Deirdre was too embarrassed to spend her dying days at home due to the way Tracy treated her best friend Liz with her affair with Tony. Tracy bites back that both Deirdre and Ken are hypocrites for judging her for affairs. And it's not long before Peter finds himself back in the firing line when he tries to defend Ken.

Backed into a corner, as always Tracy comes out fighting and really lays into Ken about his disappointment as a man, a husband and as a father. Realising just how hard Ken is taking Tracy's words, Danny spurs into action and defends Ken warning Tracy to back off which leads to Tracy turning on her younger brother. Tracy reveals how much Danny really cares about Ken, by explaining his secret plot with his boyfriend Dawud to get Ken to stump up for a flat.

Ken is broken by the revelation and walks out of the house, escaping to the street for air leaving Peter, Tracy and Danny battling out the revelation about Danny's plot, with Danny defending his actions by reminding them they had a father for all these years whether they wanted him or not, he has had nothing and feels like he deserves an apology.

As Ken re-enters the room hearing this, he tells Danny this is their chance to make up for that lost time, and he will give him a home, him and Dawud can live at number 1, that is all they are getting from him. Danny is startled by the offer and agrees to consider it. Ken tells Tracy that she has just proved Deirdre correct tonight with her performance.

Peter sits down and tells Tracy that she needs to change, an honest exchange between the siblings sees Peter admit he is concerned for the way that Amy will turn out if Tracy continues to be a bad influence on her. The Barlows are silenced when an emotional Tracy reveals her pregnancy and admits she wants to change.

As the Barlows agree to try and make more of an effort, Ken is left alone to lock up. As he turns the lights off in the living room, he looks at a photo of Deirdre which the camera lingers on.

Also at the Rovers, only Steve, Liz, Eileen, Norris, Emily, Rita, Audrey and Bev are left behind. They discuss Deirdre, her life, her loves, her daughter, her friendships, her cigarettes and her laugh but things get awkward when Bev hurls an insult Audrey's way as it is clear she is still hurt following Fred's death.

Audrey follows Bev to the toilets and the pair find themselves finally laying the past to rest with Bev admitting it's what Deirdre had requested. Eileen and Liz share a moment over a glass of wine as they remember how it is only just the two of them now and how the three of them had many of laughs together. As Bev decides it's time to head home, Liz brings the wake to a close with a toast to Deirdre.

Friday 17th July 7:30

Ken tells his family he wants to meet for a family lunch in the Rovers as they sit around the breakfast table after a newly reformed Tracy makes them breakfast and it becomes clear what an effort she is making.

Peter has things to sort and pays a visit to Leanne and Simon. Peter tells Leanne that he has made lots of mistakes and apologises for the way that he hurt her in the past. Simon is delighted to see his dad but takes the news that he is going off shore to work badly. Simon convinces himself that he can go with Peter but Peter lets him down gently telling him that he needs to stay with his mum, and Peter is surprised when Simon addresses Leanne “she isn't my mum” but Leanne brushes it off. Peter also shares an awkward exchange from across the street with Carla, he calls out asking how she is but she blanks him and he stops her in her tracks when he calls out that he is “sorry”, but she soon quickly heads off. Maria oversees the exchange and later drops in to check on Carla only for Carla to take her frustrations out on her which leaves Maria angry.

Tracy also has things to sort out. She collects Amy and over a milkshake, Tracy reveals her pregnancy news to her daughter promising that from now on she is going to prove how much she loves her. As Tracy returns Amy, she has a run in with Liz which leaves Liz clearly frustrated.

Danny meets with Dawud and informs him of Ken's surprising offer. Dawud is unsure as they weren't planning on staying in Weatherfield but Danny reminds him of his plans to resume Uni in September and how living with Ken rent free could help them save up for a deposit on their own flat but it becomes clear Danny is just craving the chance to get to know his father and Dawud realising this, and seeing the lost little child in Danny agrees to consider the offer and agrees to meet with the Barlows for lunch.

In the Rovers, Ken, Tracy, Peter, Danny and Dawud arrive to have lunch. As they skim the new Rovers menu, Tracy admits she told Amy about the pregnancy news which an annoyed Liz overhears. When Tracy heads to the bar to make the order, Liz can't help but be snide to Tracy which leads to her defending herself. Eileen, Jason and Todd are having a drink as are Lloyd and Andrea, and when Jason pipes up in defence of Liz, Tracy is rude back to him which leads to Liz snapping and revealing that she is carrying his sibling. Tracy is caught on the spot and ends up confirming the news... and horrified she glares at a guilty Andrea.

Tracy returns to the lunch after regaining her composure and the family continue like nothing has happened. Dawud gets to know the family and introduces himself to Ken who shows an interest in his sons partner. Peter reveals the news about his new job and Tracy tries to blank out the gossip as Jason tries to take in the surprising news and Liz begins to feel ashamed of her actions. When Jason comes over to question Tracy, she escapes to the bathrooms and is followed by a guilty Andrea who tries to apologise for letting slip to Liz which leads to Tracy confirming what they both know, Tony isn't the father but Steve is...

Friday 17th July 8:30

Having had enough of the embarrassment Tracy calls time on the family lunch and heads out where she bumps into Robert who convinces her to join him at the Bistro for food. As they have dinner together, Robert is surprised when Tracy admits she is pregnant and the mess she has found her life in. Robert tells Tracy he wants to protect her but she can't understand why when he hurt her, he admits their have been others but no one has ever matched her. He still loves her. Tracy is clearly smitten and the pair share a passionate kiss after dinner.

Ken heads back home and Dawud soon arrives with his things, keen to settle into his new life on the street with Danny. Danny is clearly delighted and suggests he nip out and get them a take away, once he has gone Ken warns Dawud that he has just lost his wife, he isn't going to loose his son again so if he isn't serious about this set up he should say now. Dawud is left thinking.

At the flat, Leanne is concerned about Simon and tries to talk to him about Peter's departure as he angrily plays a violent computer game which makes her very uncomfortable. Peter arrives to say goodbye and Simon's mood only gets worse when he leaves, he kicks off, slamming Leanne hands in he door, blaming her for Peter not living on the street any more and eventually raising his hand and slapping her when she tries to calm him down. Simon is startled when he realises that Peter is standing in the doorway as he has left his mobile behind. Simon locks himself in his room as Peter rushes to Leanne's aid, the pair sit and talk on the kitchen floor about Simon's mental state and how angry he is, realising that Leanne can't control Simon any more Peter decides not to go off on the off shore job but tells Leanne it's time for Simon to join him in Portsmouth. Although initially reluctant, Peter makes Leanne realise it's for the best but she asks to tell him. A guilty Simon lets Leanne into his room, as he apologises, an emotional Leanne tells Simon he needs to pack his things as he can't be with her any more. Simon agrees and packs his things. Leanne is devastated as Simon leaves the street behind in a cab with Peter... but not before assuring him that she will always be his mother.

Angry at Carla, Maria betrays her once again by visiting Anne and lies to her and admits that Carla is considering meeting with her. Delighted Anne turns her attentions to finding a home when she is released at the end of the month and Maria agrees that she can stay with her at the flat...

Lloyd is disappointed when he realises that Andrea knew about Tracy's pregnancy and finds himself questioning with Eileen and Liz what other secrets she could be keeping from him but they assure him he is being paranoid.

Alex Bain made a shock exit from Coronation Street last night as his characters Simon Barlow's domestic abuse story against his step mother Leanne (Jane Danson) finally came to ahead.

Over the past few weeks after a hoard of bad news, Simon has became very angry and bitter towards the world and has taken his frustrations out on his loving mother Leanne. However last night after jamming her hand in the door, verbally insulting her and slapping her across the face, the truth finally came out as he was caught by his father Peter Barlow played by returning guest actor Chris Gascoyne.

It was then decided that as Leanne was unable to handle Simon he would make a sudden departure with Peter to Portsmouth. This now leaves Leanne with questions to answer as those nearest to her and Simon, in particular his grandfather Ken, her former step son Zeedan and his former step mother Carla begin to ask questions about Leanne's bruises and where Simon has gone too. Will Leanne be able to face the truth that she was unable to look after her son?

The story and exit came at the climax of a big week for the Barlow family who said a final goodbye to Deirdre Barlow played by Anne Kirkbride who passed away earlier this year, it also saw the Barlows left behind vow to a new start as Tracy Barlow played by Kate Ford promised to change her ways and Danny Barlow played by Elliot Tittensor formed a new found understanding with his father Ken played by Coronation Street legend Bill Roache.

Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7:30 as Leanne is left to face the music following Simon's sudden departure.

Monday 20th July 7:30

Leanne is startled to find Ken on her doorstep first thing in the morning wanting to see Simon. Leanne surprises Ken with the news that Peter has taken him to Portsmouth but Leanne covers by saying that Peter turned down the job because he realised that Simon needed him and his support through his grief but took him to Portsmouth as he didn't want to face Carla. Ken accepts this excuse and leaves.

However later, Zeedan notices how hurt Leanne appears to be as she tries to hand over change in the cafe, and concerned suggests he join her to A+E to get it checked out, Leanne tries to brush it off but Zeedan is insistant. At A+E, Leanne's lies begin to trip her up as her story about how she hurt her hand doesn't add up and Zeedan begins to get suspicious.

Tracy prepares for her date with Robert later and is clearly nervous, but excited like a giddy school child. However she takes time out her preparations to visit Todd, and warns him that Dawud is now living at the Barlows which he appreciates. Todd later returns the favour when Jason becomes determined that Tony should know about the baby and makes him realise that it's Tracy's decision for him to be involved. Tracy tells Jason she doesn't want Tony back in her life so he agrees to leave it which leaves her relieved.

Sharif and Yasmeen receive the life insurance money via cheque in the post. It clearly startles both of them and they hide it from Zeedan. Sharif and Yasmeen realise that they need to quash Zeedan's dream about the gym and are concerned as to how they do it. Yasmeen shares a moment with Ken when she pays her respects for his loss which he appreciates.

Callum and Barry arrive to take Max out for the day, and Barry soon spots Leanne and is clearly interested.

Gary gives all his wages to Izzy for Jake as he needs a new buggy. Izzy is thankful for Gary's support. But this leaves Gary in a difficult situation when Tracy reveals that Anna was behind on her rent before she disappeared and none has been paid since. Gary is left concerned about the growing debt balance.

Sinead, Alya and Izzy prepare to put their business proposition to Carla but are clearly nervous and Luke plans to see a racing car he spots in the paper later that night.

Monday 20th July 8:30

Zeedan's suspicions are raised as he and Leanne return to the street and she continues to brush off her broken hand. After later bumping into Ken and discovering Simon's departure from the street, Zeedan puts the pieces together and heads to the flat to confront Leanne. Zeedan is surprisingly smart, calm and understanding as he tells Leanne that he understands grief more than most, and how anger builds up. Leanne is startled as Zeedan hits the nail on the head and asks her out right if it was Simon that hurt her.

Leanne being Leanne, refuses to admit the truth and kicks off instead and has a massive argument with Zeedan leading to her storming out of the flat and straight to the Rovers where she runs straight into Barry who is keen to buy her a drink.

Barry is soon a great distraction and Leanne enjoys his charming nature. Zeedan returns home to find an apprehensive Yasmeen waiting on him but after discovering about his row with Leanne, Yasmeen urges Zeedan not to leave things on bad terms. Heading over to the flat to apologise, Zeedan finds the front door open and walks in on Leanne in bed with Barry and is less than impressed...

Tracy has her date with Robert, but is concerned about Ken who seems really down so decides to stay home. She is delighted when Robert is really understanding and turns up and makes dinner for her and Ken at the house. Ken ends up enjoying the evening and gives Tracy and Robert his blessing which leaves Tracy beaming.

Gary tries to contact Anna about the flat but she ignores his calls leaving him concerned as to what to do.

Alya, Izzy and Sinead offer Carla their business plan to expand their brand, Carla is clearly unsure that investing is a good idea but realising how much Alya has invested in it and how she is distracting herself from her grief, Carla can't bring herself to turn down the idea.

When Maria's babysitter falls through and she has plans to visit Anne, she convinces Luke to look after Liam leaving him to miss out on the racing car.

Wednesday 22nd July

Leanne is clearly ashamed after the events of last night. Zeedan is still angry which startles Yasmeen and Sharif when he loses his cool at breakfast when she questions how things went with Leanne. Alya interrupts the scene and warns Zeedan to calm down. Zeedan refuses to talk about it and heads out to investigate the state of the gym which leaves Sharif and Yasmeen feeling guilty.

As Zeedan heads into the gym, Leanne spots him and follows him inside. It is clearly emotional for Zeedan as he faces the wreckage of his father's gym and when he realises Leanne is watching him crumble, he begins to take his frustrations out on her. As she stands and takes his insults, he sees the pain in her eyes and startles her by asking “Is that how you look at Simon?”. Caught up in the moment, Leanne finds herself admitting to Zeedan that she was scared of Simon.

When Zeedan begins to push further asking about her far things went between her and Simon, and how violent he was towards her, Leanne clams up again and tells Zeedan that Simon would never hurt her before rushing off.

While Barry is chuffed about his night with Leanne and can't help but brag to Callum who warns his brother that this better not effect his relationship with Max.

Gary leaves Anna a very frantic voice mail urging her to call him back instantly because he needs to know what is happening. As he sits waiting on the phone to ring, Tim comes across him and the pair talk and Gary admits he doesn't think his mum is coming back. Tim agrees to speak with Sally in regards to looking after Faye long term. Tim heads home and speaks with Sally who assures him that Faye is more than welcome to stay.

When Steve assures Liz that they have raised this months repayment, she decides to celebrate by organising a big night to launch Mary's new menu... on Friday. As they begin to prepare and get excited, Billy notices that Sean is feeling pushed out at the Rovers and advises him that he should speak to Liz about it.

Tyrone puts his foot in it by revealing to Maria that Luke was intending on seeing the car, and realising Luke missed out on the car for him she confronts him about it and realises he did it because he cares. Maria is also surprised to discover that he used to race race cars when he was younger.

Friday 24th July 7:30

Concerned that he hasn't heard from Leanne, Barry seeks her out and she is clearly sheepish and reluctant to speak to him. Barry keeps a close eye on Leanne all day, and watches as Zeedan seeks her out. Zeedan asks Leanne to meet him later at the gym and she agrees.

Later when she turns up at the gym, Zeedan hands Leanne a photo of her and Kal that he found in the rubble. Leanne is clearly startled, Zeedan reminds Leanne that Kal cared for her and he is now there for her due to that. Leanne finds herself finally opening up to Zeedan about the extent of Simon's behaviour but his startled reaction to Leanne's revelation makes her rush off upset.

As Leanne rushes out of the gym, we see that Barry has been listening in on the whole conversation. While Sharif and Yasmeen prepare to tell Zeedan that he can't get the life insurance money for the gym, and are startled when Liz asks them to have dinner at the Rovers event later.

Tim tells Gary that Sally has agreed to looking after Faye long term. Emily overhears this conversation and Gary admits to her that he is having to give up the flat. Emily asks Norris if Gary can rent their spare room but Norris refuses.

At the Rovers, Liz and Mary are busy preparing for the event later. Sean arrives late and wants to discuss feeling under appreciated by Liz. Liz brushes him off, and after another pep talk from Billy about making the right decisions in life, Sean decides to walk out mid shift after a run in with Mary.

Left in a state, Gary and Norris muck in to help Mary out, while Liz is left to seek out Sean who admits he thinks it's time he made some life changes and wants to start by leaving the Rovers, Liz asks him to finish his shift so they don't part on bad terms and Sean agrees. When Gary defends Mary by insulting Sean on his return, Norris is left impressed.

Luke asks Maria to join her at the Rovers later for dinner and she appreciates the sweet gesture.

Friday 24th July 8:30

It's the big launch night at the Rovers for the new menu. Mary is clearly nervous as the locals begin to arrive, while Liz is delighted to see how busy the bar is. Sean is also feeling emotional as it is now his last shift at the Rovers which Billy is surprised to learn.

Sharif, Yasmeen, Alya and Zeedan arrive for dinner, and spot Leanne by the bar drinking. They ask her to join them but she turns down the offer and continues to get drunk. Zeedan but can't help but keep an eye on Leanne all night, and when Barry arrives and joins her, he loses his cool and tries to interrupt which leads to his grandparents taking him. Both are surprised by his emotional reaction to the situation and it becomes clear his grief is coming out as he is loosing control. He rushes upstairs to avoid breaking down in front of his grandparents and Sharif and Yasmeen make the decision to hide the insurance cheque for the time being. While at the Rovers, Barry seeks information from a drunken Norris about Leanne. Kylie and David arrive for dinner and Kylie can't help but warn Leanne about Barry after she sees them together, and sees Zeedan's concerned outburst. Kylie's warning, spurs Leanne on and she leads Barry outside. However, Leanne snaps back to reality when Barry admits he has been learning about her tonight and offers her a bag of cocaine...

Norris gets drunk after being offered free drinks for helping Mary out earlier and surprises Gary by telling him he can rent the spare room after all. Tracy, Robert, Kirk and Beth arrive for a double date, and Gary tells Tracy he will be out of the flat by the end of the month. Sophie overhears this exchange and urges Tim, who has taken Faye, Sally and Sophie for dinner to be honest with his daughter. After the meal, Sophie drags Sally to the bar and leaves Tim to admit to Faye that Gary doubts that Anna will return to the Street which clearly leaves her hurt and she slopes off to visit Craig.

Luke and Maria go for dinner, when David passes comment about Maria having Monday off, Luke suggests they should do something together and he will take the day off but seeing Maria's reaction, Luke realises something is wrong. Pushing Maria, she admits that she has done something bad and really needs to be honest with Carla but is scared of her reaction. Luke assures Maria that Carla isn't as bad as she makes her out to be.

With the night looking like a success minus a few blips, Liz is startled when she turns to find Tony standing at the bar and he comments that it looks good to see the place busy. Tracy tells Robert they need to leave instantly and she sneaks out before he sees her which leaves Robert questioning who Tony is which leaves Tracy with some difficult questions to answer. Tony tells Liz he wants to talk to her in the back. Liz agrees, but as soon as she gets him in the back, she lashes out at him as her anger towards him comes flooding out. Liz is left startled when Tony coldly tells her, he wants her back but if she turns him down, then he wants a clean break from her and that includes getting his money back that he saved the Rovers with following Steve's depression...

Monday 27th July 7:30

Maria is nervous of the day ahead as Anne is due to be released. Maria admits over breakfast with Luke that she is nervous of facing Carla, but as he tries to cheer her up and distract her they end up getting intimate, as they lie on the sofa in each others arms, Luke tells Maria that she is too hard on Carla and she isn't as bad as she makes her out to be. Maria is a bit taken aback by his statement and questions how well he knows Carla, she stole her husband which led to him being murdered by her crazy fiancé who then ended up engaged to her so Maria knows her pretty well but Luke ends up tripping himself up and Maria pushes him to reveal that he nearly slept with Carla following her break up with Peter. Maria is completely gob smacked and asks Luke to leave, Luke tries to defend himself but realising Maria doesn't want to here him out, he leaves.

Shaken by the revelation about Luke and Carla, Maria seeks out Kirk, wanting him to collect Liam from school. She ends up opening up to her brother over a cup of tea at Number 5, revealing the truth about Anne's release. Kirk advises Maria that she knows what she needs to do for the best and Maria heads off...

Carla is exhausted with Alya at the factory, and convinces Michelle to go shopping with her as she is also keen to escape the Tony drama at the Rovers. In town, Carla and Michelle let their hair down as they do some shopping, with Carla even buying her first baby grow. Over lunch, they joke about Carla and Nick with Michelle letting some secrets slip about her and Steve's honeymoon.

Sally has the day off from the factory, and keen to give Faye and Tim some space she offers to look after Jack for a concerned Kevin who has to return to work due to Luke's day off. Sally has a good day with Jack, and assures Kevin that Jack has been fine which leaves him relieved. However during an afternoon nap, his night terrors begin again and as Sally tries to wake him up, Jack ends up hitting her which leaves Sally shaken.

As Michelle and Carla arrive back on the street, Sally comes out of Kevin's and calls at him from the garage. As Kevin heads across the street to Sally, Carla and Michelle make small chat with the pair but they all fall silent when Maria steps out of a cab with Anne Foster...

Barry sees Leanne, early morning speaking with Kylie. She is just booking in for a nail appointment later as she has decided to get her life back together. Barry however keeps a close eye on her all day. Leanne makes peace with Zeedan and promises to stay away from Barry from now on. Leanne is startled when Barry later storms into the flat, he pins her against the wall and warns her that he won't let her ruin things for Callum with Max. Leanne is confused and realises that the drugs came from Callum. Leanne refuses to be bullied, and Barry warns her that if she doesn't keep her mouth shut then he will quite happily call social services about her precious, mother beating son of hers. Leanne is horrified as she realises Barry has been spying on her. He gives her an option, to forget everything and disappear to New York to visit her sister, or tell Kylie and the police about the drugs and see social services tear Simon apart...

Steve and Liz are concerned about Tony's offer on Friday. Steve checks that Liz doesn't still have feelings for Tony but she is adamant she will not be going back there. Tracy drops in to see what Tony wanted which leaves Liz frustrated but Steve tells Tracy the truth. Tracy urges them to pay Tony because she doesn't want him knowing about the baby, Liz reminds her that she will need to keep Jason quiet about that and Tracy rushes off to the Grimshaws. Jason and Todd are shocked by the news that Tony has turned up but Jason reluctantly agrees not to say anything. However when Tony walks into the cab office, Eileen lays into him for disappearing, the way he treated Liz and getting Tracy pregnant...

Gary moves into Norris' with very little help from Norris.

Monday 27th July 8:30

Carla can't believe that Anne is standing in front of her on the street, she grabs her things and dashes off. Anne tries to stop her as she passes her by, Michelle gives Maria a cold glare as she chases after Carla. Kevin ushers Sally into the house, so Maria helps Anne and her things into the flat.

Back at Roy's, Carla is freaking out. Michelle and Roy try to calm her but as she puts the pieces together, Carla realises that Anne has come to stay at Maria's. Realising that she can't face Anne every day, Carla decides to escape to LA and rushes to pack a bag. Roy and Michelle can do nothing but watch as Carla flees the street due to Anne's return.

Sally is also freaking out, she tells Kevin about what happened with Jack leaving him more concerned with his son after he reminds her that Frank is in her past. Sally waits until Kevin's back is turned before slipping out and heads straight to Maria's.

Maria lets Sally into the flat and it is not long before Sally flies off the handle, insulting Anne and making it clear to Maria how disapproving she is of her actions. Sally reminds them that Anne murdered her own son. Maria reminds Sally that Frank was dangerous and Anne did what she did to stop him from hurting anyone like he hurt Carla. Sally is silenced by Maria's firm words and leaves, warning Anne not to cause any more trouble for Carla.

As Kylie waits on her last appointment for the day in Leanne, she sends David off to the pub early where he finds a downbeat Luke. David gives Luke advice in how to deal with Maria which he has picked up from working with her and urges him not to give up so easy as Maria isn't all that bad deep down, Luke begins to form a plan.

Kylie has enough of waiting on Leanne and as she locks up she calls out to Nick asking if Leanne is at the Bistro, Zeedan overhears and concerned he convinces Nick to check the flat with him. When they get no answer, Nick has a spare and they let themselves in only to find the flat empty. As the pair leave, we see Barry grinning as he watches from afar...

Steve is feeling guilty about the situation with Tony and tells Liz that he has decided to ask Lloyd to buy him out of Streetcars, as the Rovers is there home as well as a business plus it's down to him that they owe Tony the money. While Tony turns up on Tracy's doorstep, under the guise of wanting to talk about the pawn shop, as they agree to shut the shop and call it quits on their working relationship, Tony startles her by asking about his baby. Tracy can't answer him and orders him to leave and he warns Tracy that he will leave her house, but he is going no where now he knows he is going to be a dad again. Tracy is clearly petrified.

While Norris lays down the rules to a bemused Gary...

Wednesday 29th July

Maria is touched by the gently way that Liam takes to Anne and how she is clearly delighted to entertain the young lad. As heads off to work, Audrey, David and Kylie are oblivious to her decision until Michelle bursts into the Salon demanding to talk to Maria about how stupid she is and it all comes out. Audrey defends Maria's decision, reminding Michelle that Maria is the mother of her nephew which makes Michelle back down and leave.

Audrey later heads upstairs and has a chat with Anne, reminding her of the drama she is causing and requests if her presence is really needed and if it will be worthwhile. Anne surprises Audrey by revealing that she is dying and she wants to make peace with Carla before she goes, putting her sons mistakes to rest. Audrey respects that and backs off.

At the factory, Sally is very vocal about Maria's decision which leaves, Izzy, Sean and even Fiz gossiping about Maria with Fiz commenting how she has made some awful decisions in recent years. Beth and Kirk jump to Maria's defence when they overhear but Maria is later hurt when she overhears Beth commenting that inviting a killer into her home when she has a young child is irresponsible but Maria snaps, surprising Kirk and Beth that she has overheard and reminds Beth she is best friends with a killer in Tracy so she is a hypocrite which leaves Beth feeling guilty.

After a long day Maria heads home, and is touched once again when Anne apologises for all the pain she is causing her. Maria tells Anne that people have surprised her today.

Steph becomes aware that Luke is planning a romantic surprise to win back Maria, but tells him that he should maybe have just been there for her today as she has heard she has had a tough day which leaves Luke doubting his plan.

Steve surprises Lloyd and Eileen at the cab office as Steve asks Lloyd to buy him out, instead of discussing the offer the three end up discussing the fun times they have had working together. While Tony finally faces Jason as he turns up at the yard. Jason dismisses his dad, so he starts helping him in the yard which frustrates Jason. Tony asks him if he knew about the baby and Jason tells him he didn't want him to be a pathetic let down to another kid so kept it from him which clearly hurts Tony causing him to walk out, which leaves Jason feeling bad.

Gary is concerned about Faye, so takes her for a bag of chips and assures her that even if Anna doesn't come back she does love Faye and that is why Miley's departure hurt her so bad. Faye is left feeling a bit better.

Nick is gutted when he discovers from Roy that Carla has gone, leaving him to dismiss Zeedan's concerns about Leanne commenting that she will probably have gone to visit Simon which Zeedan accepts knowing that they have been discussing Simon and Leanne's relationship lately. While Barry admits to Callum that Leanne almost caused him a problem with the drugs but he has dealt with, concerned Callum tells Barry they are going to have to have a back up and they spot an innocent Bethany walking down the street...

Friday 31st July 7:30

Concerned by the trouble she has caused Anne decides to stay in doors again which Maria feels guilty about. At the salon, Maria airs this concern to Audrey but the moment is interrupted when Luke arrives wanting to make his grand gesture. Luke tries to surprise Maria with a two week holiday to Kavos, for tonight. Maria soon realises that Luke has forgotten Liam and agrees to meet him on her lunch break to talk. David and Kylie soon realise that Maria is going to break things off and David urges Maria to be gentle about it because she has made enough enemies this week.

Maria later meets with Luke at the cafe where she gently points out to him that they are at completely different stages in their life, they don't really know one another and it's maybe for the best to end things now. Maria tells Luke that she does like him, but they both know deep down it isn't going to work out. Luke is gutted, and Steph is left trying to cheer him up and ends up agreeing to go on holiday with him.

Fiz apologises to Kirk and Beth for being involved in the incident in the factory after being spurred on by Tyrone. Beth assures Fiz not to worry about it as she put her own foot in it last night. Fiz remins Beth that she is Maria's family and stuck up for her before hand so Maria will understand.

Lloyd speaks with Andrea about Steve's offer, and seeing it as a chance of a clean break, Andrea agrees to help raise the cash to buy Steve out.

Jason finds himself apologising to Tony for his harsh words the night before but warns his dad that he hasn't forgiven him for his behaviour.

Feeling a bit better following Gary's pep talk, Faye makes lunch for Tim which leaves him chuffed that she is making an effort again but as he returns to washing the windows on the street he is surprised to see Anna arriving back...

Bethany is excited when Callum flirts with her, and suggests they should hang out next week...

Friday 31st July 8:30

Audrey, David, Kylie and Maria go for a drink after work to try and cheer Maria up following her split from Luke. Kylie tells them that as part of her commitment to proving how much she has changed, she wants the Platts to join her at her drugs counselling meeting on Monday and David is clearly proud of how far Kylie has come. With Maria's words on her mind, Audrey heads to see Anne. Audrey tells Anne that if she doesn't have long left of her life then she shouldn't be hiding away in the flat. While Beth approaches Maria in the Rovers and apologises, explaining how her and Kirk stuck up for her in the factory but were just concerned about her. Maria thanks Beth and tells her to forget about it, it's good to know she cares.

However the pub falls silent when Audrey walks in with Anne. Anne joins David, Kylie and Maria as Audrey buys her a drink. Michelle refuses to serve her, while Sally expresses her disappointment in Audrey. Audrey calmly states that Anne has served her time, and is due to live the rest of her life so Steve steps in and serves Audrey which leaves Michelle furious. Anne is nervous expecting Sally or Michelle to kick off, however Audrey is startled when Nick arrives and rages at them for drinking with Anne when she has driven Carla out of town. Anne is shocked to discover that Carla is pregnant with Nick's baby and makes a hasty exit as she doesn't want to cause Audrey any trouble.

Steph and Luke head off on their trip to Kavos with Steph assuring Luke he might find someone out there to help him get over Maria.

Lloyd and Andrea inform Steve and Liz of their plans to buy Steve out of streetcars which leaves Steve uncomfortable as he clearly doesn't trust Andrea. But Liz can't help but taking delight in telling Tony that he will be getting his money back.

Tim approaches Anna who is surprised to discover she has no home. Tim takes her back to Sally's which causes Sally to head to the Rovers. Faye is startled when she comes face-to-face with Anna. Anna isn't surprised by Faye's cold reaction and assures her she has come back to make amends for the way she reacted. Anna then heads to Norris' to find Gary, Gary is angry at his mum as she hasn't been in touch and Anna apologises to her son but it becomes clear he is glad to see her back as he hugs her.

Monday 3rd August 7:30

The Platts have all agreed to go to Kylie's counselling session. Keen to meet up with Callum instead, Bethany looks for any excuse and David eventually agrees that she shouldn't attend. The Platts head off for the session which starts well as Kylie opens up to the family about how she feels welcome and supported back with them, and David admits he can see how much progress she has made but ends up descending into a family row as Nick is clearly still angry with Audrey for supporting Maria and Anne. Gail is mortified and spends the whole meeting calling out the names of the family members who say something inappropriate in front of the counsellor but the end result is that Nick and Audrey seem to come to an understanding.

Escaping the session, Bethany is delighted when Callum picks her up and flirts with her. He convinces her to deliver a package for him and gets photographic evidence of her with the drugs. He later drops her off, and she leans in to kiss him but he laughs in her face leaving her hurt.

Steve is concerned about Lloyd's decision to go into business with Andrea. As Andrea goes off to try and raise the funds, Steve tries to put doubts into Lloyd's mind which does leave him concerned about the idea. Andrea is annoyed when she returns to have to assure Lloyd's doubts and discovers that Steve is behind it.

Anna has spent the night at Sally's and thanks her by making breakfast. Faye is still uncomfortable around Anna. Tim and Sally head out leaving Anna to try and make amends with Faye but Faye tries to avoid speaking with her, until Anna confronts her and it leads to a row between the pair which causes Faye to snap that she would rather she just disappeared again...

Cathy is surprised when Roy is off with her. Concerned she has done something to upset him, she later tries to speak to him. Roy apologises for his earlier behaviour and admits his concerns about Carla and Anne. Cathy suggests that Roy should speak with Anne himself. Roy is left torn.

Fiz and Tyrone arrange a night out on the town as they haven't been out together for ages.

Monday 3rd August 8:30

Back at the house following the counselling session, David finds himself being surprisingly honest for Kylie. He admits he loves her, and wants them to be a proper family again but is scared she will let him down again. Kylie promises David she is going to try her best, and that is enough for David to cave and kiss her passionately.

Annoyed about what happened earlier with Callum, Bethany ends up confiding in Sarah about Callum getting her to deal drugs. Furious, Sarah tracks Callum down and confronts him, threatening him with the police but he stops her in her tracks by casually revealing the photographic evidence which would put Bethany inside, not Callum. Sarah is left fuming and storms off.

Andrea confronts Steve about putting doubts in Lloyd's mind and they end up bickering about their kiss with Steve admitting he is concerned Andrea doesn't love Lloyd. Tony has overheard the whole conversation and goes straight to Lloyd to break the news, Lloyd refuses to believe Tony so Tony tells him to ask Andrea...

Anna escapes to the Rovers where she finds herself surprised to discover Gary and Mary now work there. Kevin arrives for some time out as Sophie is looking after Jack and they end up having a drink together, and as they relax into each others company they end up talking about their difficult relationships with their children Jack and Faye. As the pair seem to be getting on well, Mary can't help but get jealous from a distance.

Cathy supports Roy as he makes the decision to visit Anne. Maria is surprised to have Cathy and Roy on her doorstep and lets them in. Roy is very considerate and understanding to Anne's return, unlike others but gently requests that she reconsider as Carla has had a very difficult time and deserves to enjoy her pregnancy without any more pain. Anne tells Roy that she can't leave now due to the restrictions of release. Roy leaves, disappointed that he was unable to help Carla.

Tyrone and Fiz head into town for the dinner, they are surprised when the waitress Eliza recognises Fiz and enjoys up joining them for a catch up. Fiz barely remembers Eliza, but Eliza claims she always admired Fiz at school because she was so confident and ambitious. As Tyrone and Fiz leave, they find Eliza being sacked and chucked out of the flat above the restaurant. Feeling guilty as she admits it was because she took her break early to talk to them, Fiz offers her a bed for the night...

Wednesday 5th August

Lloyd is anxious around Andrea, and brings the subject of their relationship over lunch, questioning if their has ever been anyone else and Andrea assures Lloyd he is the one she loves. Lloyd is satisfied with the answer and decides to leave his concerns.

Tony throws an extra grenade when he drops into conversation with Liz about Lloyd knowing about Steve and Andrea's kiss. Liz realises Tony was behind his discovery, and questions why and Tony admits he is going to do whatever he can not to let go off Liz which secretly leaves her flattered. Liz warns Steve, and realising he needs to speak to Michelle sits her down and explains about Andrea's kiss. Michelle is annoyed that Steve never told her sooner and he explains his reasons, they had no time, it was his stag and ultimately it was nothing. Michelle understands but tells Steve she will be laying into Andrea when she sees her.

Callum approaches Sarah to assure her answer and Sarah tells him she won't get her daughter in trouble. When Callum then tries to come onto her Sarah laughs at him before walking off, Jason misreads the situation as he sees it from a distance and later lays into Sarah for going back to Callum but she sets him straight that he was trying to get Bethany into trouble leaving Jason annoyed.

Anna decides she needs to get her life back together, she goes to see Roy and question whether she still has a job. Roy is understanding and assures Anna her job has been waiting for her. Later Sally overhears Mary questioning Anna about her drinks with Kevin, Sally gets an idea and convinces Kevin to ask Anna to take on his spare room. Later Kevin suggests to Anna that his spare room is available if she wants to give Faye some space. Sally is left delighted and Tim realises that she is behind the decision.

Eliza has spent the night at Ty and Fiz's. Sinead and Ches drop in and are surprised to be introduced to the newcomer, Ches enjoys heading the stories from Fiz's childhood but Sinead picks up on Fiz's lack of memory and comments that it is odd that Eliza remembers so much but Fiz doesn't.

Friday 7th August 7:30

Michelle is gunning for Andrea but keeps missing her every where she goes by seconds. Eventually she comes face-to-face with her at the cab office and in front of Eileen and Lloyd, Michelle slaps Andrea and warns her to stay away from Steve.

Lloyd is shaken and realising Michelle's reaction is the confirmation he needs, he walks out. Andrea is left looking for Lloyd who seeks out Michelle. Michelle relays Steve's story, which confirms what Tony told Lloyd and he is left disappointed.

Lloyd faces Andrea, and she admits she did share a kiss with Steve. It was a mistake, she is human and asks him not to hold it against her. Lloyd tells Andrea that without trust, relationships do not work.

Jason is less than impressed when he spots Callum sweet talking Bethany and warns him to back off which Callum doesn't take well.

Anna moves her things into Kevin's, which Mary is secretly jealous of from afar. While Tim realises that Sally is feeling under appreciated and comes up with a plan...

Fiz gently tells Eliza she has enough time now to get herself together so she wants her out tonight. Eliza assures Fiz that is fine and thanks her for her goodwill, which leaves Fiz feeling guilty. Later Ty is disappointed that Fiz has asked Eliza to go and offers to help her find some work once she has finished work.

Friday 7th August 8:30

Realising that Lloyd is breaking up with her, Andrea decides to collect her things and visit her sister. She tries one last time to convince Lloyd to forgive her but he tells her to go. Andrea is fuming that Steve has ruined her relationship and seeks him out in the Rovers smoking yard. Andrea gives a piece of her mind to Steve, calling him a hypocrite by revealing that she knows how unfaithful he really was on his stag night, Steve brushes off her claims and Andrea bites back that she knows Tracy isn't a liar because she is carrying his baby. Steve is left gob smacked...

Jason later sees Bethany sneaking off in Callum's car. Jason tracks her down, after following Callum in his works van and drags her back to the street. Bethany is mortified and less than impressed when Jason returns Bethany to Sarah leaving her in trouble.

Tim makes a grand proposal to Sally on the street in front of their friends and family, Sally can't here what he is saying over the music that he has blaring and is too busy talking to her friends but when she realises she is completely startled. Sally is overjoyed and rushes into Tim's arms, and they head home with a bag of chips to celebrate in front of the sofa!

Tyrone helps Eliza get secure a job at the Rovers, while Rita is left startled when she reveals her second name is Tanner. When she questions if she is any relation to Dennis or Elsie, she reveals Dennis is her dad leaving Rita dumbfounded. Keen to keep Eliza around to get to know her, Rita offers Eliza her spare room. Rita doesn't reveal Dennis is her husband however.

Karen Hassan joins Coronation Street as Eliza Tanner!

Ex Hollyoaks actress Karen Hassan made her first appearance in Coronation Street on Monday night as an old school friend of Fiz Stape (Jennie McApline). We were introduced to Hassan's character Eliza, as Fiz and her partner Tyrone (Alan Halsall) had a night out in Manchester which ended with the old school friend needing a place to stay.

Coronation Street bosses kept Hassan's casting and arrival a secret from viewers as they wanted to keep the characters true identity a secret until it was revealed on screen. In tonight's episode, Tyrone tried to help Eliza secure a job on the street only for her to introduce herself as Eliza Tanner to Rovers landlady Liz McDonald (Beverly Callard) which was overheard by Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) who questioned if she was a relative of original characters Dennis (Philip Lowrie) and Elsie Tanner (Pat Phoneix), which Eliza confirmed. She is Dennis' daughter, making Rita her step mother!

Rita kept that final bit of information to herself, as she offered homeless Eliza a place to stay, keen to get to know the young girl a bit better. The character is expected to reveal a raft of secrets and surprises as it becomes apparent she has a few links to Weatherfield present, past and future.

Producer *Betty* said the following of Hassan's casting, "The casting of Karen is the icing of the cake for this very special character. The daughter of original troublesome son Dennis, granddaughter of every woman Elsie, she has to be unique. Eliza's favorite story growing up was Robin Hood, and that has a major influence on her characterization in adult hood. She favors good over evil, but crosses the line herself. Elsie and Dennis aren't her only links to Weatherfield, she has a history with Fiz and some future arrivals will also have had run ins with our Eliza. She has many stories, waiting to be told."

Hassan was said to be delighted to join Coronation Street and to be playing part of such a legendary Soap family. Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7:30.
