Nice to see the show getting a ratings boost from the final episode of Letterman. 4 million viewers, the largest audience for any Late Late show apparently and its best 18-49 rating since December 2005.
I think Corden is taking his first break next week, which seems like a good time to do it (what with Letterman now off the air). It's going to be a long, tough, summer for Corden though with no lead-in. |

He had Halle Berry on the other night. If he keeps getting A-list names he should do alright.
I watched the carpool karaoke with him and Justin Bieber. Bieber is still a dick and it shows. |

The Bieber video is on 14.2 million hits now. In 4 days.. not bad.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dx06c0ZEBMk I thought he JB came across fairly OK. Certainly didn't come across as an arse or someone who couldn't be bothered with it. He genuinely seemed to be having fun. James is doing ok for himself. I think a lot of people hoped he would flop but he seems to have something and the celebrities appear to like him too which is important. I think his young age is helping him too. Someone like Justin can probably be more relaxed with him which he probably couldn't do with the older chat show hosts. |

I love James Corden.
I haven't had to chance to watch his show yet, is it worth staying up and watching? Does he get many worthwhile guests on? |

Sky One sign a deal to show a weekly one hour compilation Quote:
He said: “What is going to happen is that Sky will take it and do an hour-long show, showing the best bits. The pre-recorded parts and any relevant interviews should be shown in the UK. http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/j...e-show-5794095“It won’t feature the American stars who aren’t known in Britain, you know, the people on CSI here in America, but the things relevant to the UK will go in. “It’s really exciting for us, I am so happy that people will be able to see it in Britain. Let’s see how it goes, I am not taking any of this for granted at all but this is great news for us.” Bit insulting to the UK audience though, assuming the likes of the stars of CSI won't be known over here. |

Well I made a similar point earlier on. I'm an avid tv watcher but some of the names appearing on the show I could only think would be of interest to US viewers, and a specific target audience at that.
I also made the point about Norton being shown on BBC America. I can only imagine many US viewers thinking 'Who the hell is that?' at many of the British guests he has on, some not really household names over here. |

So Sky1 landed the rights to his show even if it is 1hr worth of weekly highlights. Interesting.

Depends on who you think is wothwhile. He gets some A-listers but even that depends if you're interested in them and their project.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/j...e-show-5794095 Bit insulting to the UK audience though, assuming the likes of the stars of CSI won't be known over here. Of the late night talk shows I watch Conan, Fallon, Corden and The Daily Show, I have to admit it’s quite gruelling to watch so many shows every week, so I like the idea of a weekly ‘highlights’ show. I know one person’s highlights aren’t another’s, but I still like the idea. I also watch Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, but that’s easier to keep up with as it’s only one a week. There was talk of Conan doing similar and producing a weekly ‘highlights’ show for international broadcasters and local syndicate networks in the US when he joined TBS, but it never happened. I think the bit about UK viewers not knowing who ‘XYZ’ is in CSI is just a poor choice of example as CSI is relatively well know over here, but it’s a valid point, there are going to be lots of guests most UK viewers won’t have heard of. So Sky showing a weekly ‘highlights’ show has a much better chance of success than Sky showing all the daily shows. Quote:
Oh I didn't know that. Is it the same with all the big chat shows over there? Jimmy fallon hasn't had any updates to his channel eother

Added to my previous post and the following I also think that UK viewers aren't used to or fond of nightly chat shows.
It's been tried in the past or 3 night shows and some worked for a while whilst others failed miserably. A highlights show on Sky1, where Corden already has a presence could work. It's not going to get great ratings I don't think, for several reasons as i've mentioned previously. |

Last week I received my ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ mug that I ordered online from the CBS store.
The reason I mention this is that under the logo is says ‘The Late Late Show is a trademark of World Wide Pants – which most people will probably know is David Letterman’s production company. This surprised me, as I thought David Letterman no longer had any connection with ‘The Late Late Show’. I know under previous hosts the programme has been produced by World Wide Pants, but as far as I’m aware Corden’s show has no connection. So why is ‘The Late Late Show’ name still a trademark of World Wide Pants? I assumed CBS would have bought the name from Letterman’s production company now? It’s a really geeky question, I know, but I was wondering if anyone knew the answer? |

What else can you buy online from the CBS store? How much did the mug cost?

http://www.cbsstore.com/the-late-lat...helatelateshow The mugs aren’t badly priced - $14.95, but the P&P to the UK is about $20 from what I remember. I ordered 2 mugs and the total price, when converted into British currency, was about £40 – so a bit pricey for 2 mugs. But I collect these sorts of things so it was worth it for me – I’ve already got a ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon’ mug, a ‘Conan’ mug, a ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ mug, and a ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’ mug. Plus loads of t-shirts from such shows too.

At the moment the CBS Store only has 2 mugs (one with the neon orange logo and one with the neon purple logo) in terms of ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ merchandise, but I suspect they’ll add more as time goes on – t-shirts etc.

You can actually buy a 2 Broke Girls cupcake t-shirt, that's hilarious! What Jimmy Fallon merchandise can you buy? |

Very nice! That's some collection you have there. £40 is a bit steep for 2 mugs though, i wonder if there's any available on Ebay. Lol. Thanks for the link. The black and purple mug looks really good. How long did it take for the mugs to arrive in the UK?

Most of my Letterman, Conan, and Fallon merchandise I bought when I went to see the recordings of the shows in New York and LA, so that was cheaper. Having said that I spent about £60 on Conan merchandise when I was in LA, and about £130 on Jimmy Fallon merchandise when I was in New York. A decent selection of Jimmy Fallon merchandise is available here, but again postage is quite expensive and there’s a bigger selection if you’re lucky enough to visit the NBC Store in New York City. http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com/ton...g-jimmy-fallon Quote:
Easy money for Letterman/production company to still get royalties from the name.

I think Craig Ferguson still has a castle just outside of Glasgow too, where he lives when he comes over to Scotland for a break. He was last there for a few weeks in December/January. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...rket-5-5m.html |

Last night was one of those rare occasions where I knew f all about any of the guests. I'm an avid telly watcher but I could have told you nothing about those three. Never even heard their names in passing before.
Melora Hardin, Amy Landecker, Jack Antonoff I would like to know how this girl found out this particular skill. Like Corden said, soooo many questions. https://youtu.be/QUY5Haly-qI?t=1m42s |
