Ours arrived too
loving the fact that we have youtube back on our telly after the app disappeared from our Samsung tv. It was so easy to set up and is simple to use. |

Mine also arrived today and I tried it out. iPlayer, STV Player, Demand5, Netflix and Amazon Instant all seem to work well and no problems as of yet (touch wood).
I also installed an app called Vimu player that has DLNA support from networks shares so I figured it would be good to play video files from my NAS. I tried some SD files and they work fine but HD files make a horrible crackling noise, making it pretty useless. If anyone knows of another app that's similar and works, please let me know. |

But, being Plex, it works just like Netflix, so I can start watching on one platform and finish on another. |

I use Plex and it is near perfect. I have the Plex server running on the NAS, where I also have the collection. Plex has a native app for the AFTV which is not only good, it is the best app for any platform Plex has made.

I've got a QNAP TS-453 Pro, which has four HD bays filled with 6TB disks in a RAID config. So, after parity I have just under 20TB. This is used for backups of all computers, as well as a virtual server, Squeezebox server (for music) and a few other tasks.
Despite all that, I can still play HD streams without issues via Plex as it has a relatively grunty Intel CPU and RAM. It's quiet, takes up very little space, and works a treat. Plex is brilliant, but does take a little backend work to make sure all the titles are correctly labelled. You can't mess with their file formats and naming conventions, otherwise the shows just don't show up. But as long as you play by their rules, your video library looks like something you'd see from Netflix - i.e. professional. |

Don't you have to pay for Plex to get decent usage out of it (ie unlimited use from your downloaded files)?
