Very sorry to hear this. Just remember he had a great life, and a better death than most of us can hope for, and remember the good times.

So sorry for your loss, we show our hairy ones love every day but the most loving act is putting our own heartbreak aside to let them leave us when their suffering becomes too much.

Just seen this. Thinking of you, woodbush. What a beautiful dog Zinda was. Really stunning. This is one of the hardest things any of us have to do in life, no matter how much we think we are as prepared for it as we can ever be, it is still very, very tough.

So be kind to yourself, over the coming days and weeks. It will hit you in waves but slowly that point comes when you can remember more with a smile, than tears.

I'm very sorry to hear about your dog, it's terrible when the time comes but it's for the best. I'm in exact same position with our little JR. He's nearly 13 but over recent weeks and in particular the past couple of days his health has deteriorated to the point were he can now just about stand up, he won't eat either. We all hope our sick pets will just drift away peacefully, but what's the chance.

Woodbush ...... You've done the right thing and I'm glad the end was peaceful for Zinda.

We love our dogs from the moment we have them, usually as tiny pups, and they have such a special place in our lives that you just have to complete the whole cycle of life and let them go when the time is right. I've had to do this 3 times now and all our dogs live for 16+ years. Our current old boy is 16.

It's never easy but it's almost a relief in a way to know that you've done the best you possibly could for your dog. Xx

I rarely come on the forum these days, so I have just seen this post.

Sincerely condolences Woodbush, it is like losing a dearest member of your family.

He's out of pain, you did the right thing.

He is very beautiful

Thank you all. I miss my boy and so does my wife. He's not suffering now, we are.

It's what you have to do when you love your pet. I'm glad in a way that he only suffered for a little while. It was done at home in the place he loved and went quickly without stress.

Again, thank you all for your kind words, it means a lot.
