Lumia 640 vastly overpriced in UK

once again British users are shafted. The Lumia 640 due for release in April is priced at $99 in USA and £ 169 in UK. What an absolute rip off it has become.

Yes it used to be the case of a straight $ to £ conversion which in itself was still a rip off with the exchange rate, but now its gone past this. $99 = £66, its more than double the price.

Where is your source for this? Habitually, U.S media advertise the contract acquisition price (i.e. $xyz + 24 or 36 month contract). This is not comparable to a SIM-free or prepay price.

Verizon and US cellular sold the moto g for $99 off contract so it isn't too far fetched to imagine metro pcs selling the lumia 640 for $99. That will only be for the locked version though, the unlocked version will be much more comparable to the UK in price.

Okay, so one price is carrier locked (they'll likely charge nicely for any unlocking) and subsidised, the other price is SIM free.

Not really comparing like with like on pricing there.
