Jailbreak your iPhone and you can show anything apparently!
I reckon they'd use just "BT" as the network logo, it works nicely and is short like "3" or "O2" and not the stupidly long "Vodafone UK" which on many handsets wraps. But who knows what they'll actually do. "BT Mobile powered by EE" could scroll across your screen ![]() |

Cutting back from offering AYCE data to a 1GB monthly data limit max on PAYG for the same £15 or even more would be suicidal.
There needs to be a good amount of data such as 5GB or 10GB in case you really need it i.e. if you go away somewhere where you have no access to wifi. And not just for sim only contracts. Surely they can continue to offer AYCE data even if the price increases up to £20 to £25. But to have no access to wifi for a few weeks with a max of 1GB per month to struggle badly with should not be just your scooby doo. |

I guess since BT Mobile is launched I can now talk about it as I have been on the trial for several months.
Very impressed with the 4G performance (I think it is double speed) and I have no hesitation in recommending BT as an MVNO. |

It certainly shows it is using 20Mhz. Overall fairly similar to EE, However i find the latency & speed better on a native EE sim.

I love how some people on here talk like "surly they can't cut data?" Well yes they can and with less competition I suspect it will be happening. Unlimited will not come with a £15 price tag. That prob will be 500mb once we lose the competition and get forced o pay more for less.
Then you will have the most congested and network in which you pay more for less. If you detract from "oh I get a better signal" and look at this from a wider perspective this is not a good move for the consumer at all. |

Also if you try to tether, speeds seem to be capped to 4Mbps or less making it effectively useless. |

Not bothered about only having 30mbps but I'm not liking the ping results on Lucan's post, when I had the Dan and Phil sim I was getting in the high 20's low 30's not sure if this is typical but it made things seem much quicker over three's 4g which gets similar pings to Lucan post

![]() What? A 4Mbps connection is useless? What are you doing that 4Mbps isn't adequate? |

At the moment I'd kill for a constant 4mbps from three.

*4Mbps sporadically. It will half load a webpage and then stop. If I do a few speed tests it might hit 4Mbps for a second before it dies.

So by right the European Commission should be the authority who will investigate and determine the remedies that need to be put in place for Hutch to buy O2. However, for BT's acquisition of EE the correct authority is the UK's Competition & Market Authority.
The problem here is that they can't be independent of each other as what is decided in one affects the other e.g. Do you decide on BT/EE on the basis of there being 3 networks or 4 left for things like spectrum divestment. There really is an argument here that these should be looked at by one authority either the CMA take Hutch/O2 (which Hutch definitely won't want) or the EC take on BT/EE (maybe a better choice given the CMA's lack of experience in big mobile acquisitions). Alternatively I guess they could talk to each other but they'd all hate that.

A while, but this one is going to take longer as the competition concerns are bigger. I would say March 2016 and we'll be at the stage where roaming might be enabled cross network and we'll start to see the networks come together.
Hutchison say they'll keep both Cornerstone / O2's network and Three MBNL live too, although they will almost certainly pool the transmission and allow cross network access. I strongly suspect the O2 brand will die as although the stronger, is an old Telefonica brand which is dying out due to the Europe wide sale of assets. I should imagine a year from now all O2 users will be moved over to have Three displayed, and there will be a big brand push to reposition Three, rebranding of the arena, big national campaign etc. Just think a year or 18 months from now you'll do a network search and you'll see: Vodafone UK Three UK BT Mobile UK I called it on the BT Mobile naming too, people said that the word mobile was old and that it would be called something else, but they are going ahead with BT Mobile. But look on the bright side as with the EE saga a three simm will work in a o2 and vice versa |
