ok, so the title makes this sound scary, but has anyone used the Bravura London at home peels?

I am using the lactic acid one at the moment and it's blowing me away, such incredible results for something that costs about 10 quid!

I really recommend them. They do a couple of different ones that help various skin complaints - I have relatively normal skin that was looking a bit dull so went for the lactic acid, but think I'm going to buy the other two peels soon to see what they can do, too! I know 'face peel' brings to mind images of Samantha in Sex and the City with her red raw face but in reality they're nowhere near that harsh. The lactic acid peel makes my face tingle a bit, it goes a bit pink for an hour or so but the next day my skin is smooth, clear and glowing

Anyone else tried one of the other peels? Thoughts?

Not a peel, but along similar lines, me and my cousin both use Liquid Gold. I haven't seen any real effects from it, but it has been absolutely fantastic on my cousins skin. It really has made her skin glowing, plumper and more even.

I have seen a small effect but nothing like her. Maybe its skin type. I have dry skin and hers is oily - maybe it performs better on that type of skin. Do you mind me telling what your skin type is as I'm interested in checking out the one you mention above.

I've not risked it yet as waiting for my skin to settle after a breakout but I'm hoping it will help with acne scarring and pigmentation.

I've read online about people who have had scans of the deeper UV damage to their skin. Would peels simply bring this potential damage to the surface quicker? I'm sure someone would have pointed it out before now if they did considering they're meant to be good for collagen production and what not but I just thought about it and wondered.

I use the Elemis papaya enzyme peel, Liquid Gold (awesome on my super dry skin), Bravura's salicylic acid peel, Clarins' glycolic acid toner and Clinique's salicylic acid toner. Not all at once, obviously. But I use a form of acid on my face every day, usually twice.

As stated above, I haven't had much joy with the Liquid Gold. I also use the Clarins one and the FAB pads too.

Which of the ones you mention above do you find most effective? I am looking to try something different.

The Liquid Gold is absolutely the best I have tried. I'm surprised it doesn't work for you! I have very dry skin and after I've used it I wake up with plump, moist skin (which feels miraculous). Their moisturiser - I forget its name - is also brilliant, with a high level of glycolic acid but more moisturising ingredients. That might be a good one to try.

If you don't want to throw more money at Alpha H, do try Bravura London. It might be that a different acid would work well for you. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Ooh - Clinique's Turnaround Overnight moisturiser was very good. The serums and moisturisers in that range might suit you. I would go to the counter and ask for samples first, though.

You sound hardcore! I like Liquid Gold too but have to say I am finding slightly better results from Bravura (at a better price, too!)

My skin is a mish mash of types - I have an oily t zone and dry cheeks, and can sometimes find my skin dehydrated generally. My cheeks do go a bit pink after I use the peels, but within 2 hours they're glowing and smooth (and are far less dry than usual).

Deffo give Bravura peels a go - they're my fave so far and I've tried Nip & Fab, Alpha H, First Aid Beauty. I went for Salicylic acid as it was the most 'general' one but have just got the Glycolic acid one and it's great so far too.

Yes, skincare is one of my obsessions! Not in a professional sense, but I just love washing my face and applying lotions and potions.

Bravura are fantastic - I've been using them for years. I'm planning to try one of their acid-based toners when my Clarins has run out. Eep!

I have to admit I don't rate this one either. I think the glycolic acid % is very low.

At least it's not because I have the hide of a rhino then!
