I've not posted on this bit of DS before so forgive me if I've misjudged the tone!
I've recently started a fashion and beauty blog centred around disability. I'm in a wheelchair myself and realised that differently abled body types really aren't represented in the beauty world, so I wanted to attempt to change that.

I've received a lot of good feedback about it so far but hoping to reach a wider audience. Any comments would be appreciated. Obviously the blog is for everyone and I'll be posting all sorts, I just thought it would make a nice change. Enjoy!

Read your blog LightMeUp and I agree with everything you say. You are 100% right about how to wear your shorts/trousers if you have scoliosis. Molly, you are very pretty and I love the way you have teamed your shorts with gorgeous leggings. Skin looks fantastic and your makeup is just right. I think you could add a little fun by using hair chalks, see hairchalk.co.uk, for Christmas I used purple & turquoise to my white/grey hair!

Lots of people who do not have a disability face challenges with regard to body shape, I think you may get some ideas from those sources, for example using patterns or strips in clothing fabric to accentuate or detract different parts of our bodies.

Can I offer some friendly advice? As someone who works with the top beauty & fashion bloggers/youtubers on a regular basis, my number one tip would be to move your blog to a more recognised blogging platform (like wordpress) and purchase your own www address (loads of guides to do this found on Google if you're unsure)

This is for two reasons - 1) it will increase the ease of your blog being found via google searches etc, meaning you'll hopefully get a larger readership
2) PR and digital agencies tend to use certain rankings and methods to identify bloggers whom they would like to work with (giving free products for review etc). One of the main things they look for is something called DA (domain authority), which you'll only get a decent score on if you have your own www address. It is also considered more professional by some

You might want to look into some SEO tips if you fancy it too, as this will also help in you being found via Google.

Anyway, obviously if you're happy with using Wix then stick with that, I just wanted to let you know some industry "secrets" as you seem very dedicated to blogging and there is definitely a big gap in the market in regards to disability & fashion/beauty, I think loads of brands would be interested in working with you if you fancied pursuing that route.

What a great blog.
My little girl has fibular hemimelia and is due to undergo a double amputation this year. She will wear prosthetic legs after the operation, and having low self-confidence myself, I naturally worry about how she will perceive herself. I hope that when she is old enough she will have your attitude to life (and fashion). I will always tell her that she is beautiful; but I thinks blogs like this one will help her to see that beauty is really about having a postive outlook and embracing who you are. There is no reason why she can't wear and do exactly what she wants!
