What do you look for in a new phone?
I'm curious what people look at first when they're picking a new phone and I can't seem to find much data about it - so I thought I would ask all of you.
- Camera - Battery Life - Processor - Screen Size - Price - Operating System / Apps - Memory / SD Capacity Which do you look at first? Which is most important to you? |

I look for the following
High quality Camera Solid Battery Life Screen Size [Don't want a phablet but don't want something to small 4.5-5inch] Operating System / Apps [Android or iOS] Memory [Depends on data plan size at time] Features [Visual Voicemail/VoLTE/WiFi Calling] There isn't any one thing that I look for it's a bundle of things. So basically a complete package a phone that everything comes together and works well with. This time I picked an iPhone 6 it has been a solid phone this last month and don't regret it at all. I suppose the biggest thing that is crucial to me is will it last me 2 years or so. Knowing that I have VoLTE/WiFi Calling support was a important part of the choice as that will be very useful as LTE expands across UK. |

Battery life
cpu speed ram spec Ability to swap battery and sdcard high quality screen (amoled) network capability (2x mimo ac/n etc.) operating system support volte and wifi calling are software lockouts, you at the mercy of your provider if the phone will work with it. |

I really suggest you go with price.
A year or so later you might then know yourself what is important to you. As to me, flaky new stuff like Volte will have to find me, I certainly have no interest whatsoever in looking for that. |

Screen size, battery life and 'form factor' i.e. how comfortable/nice it feels to hold it. Once you're happy with those, you can pretty much customise most phones to however you want.

1] Price - not willing to spend over £200
2] Processor - want as much power as poss to future proof it 3] Ram - as above 4] Battery - got to last a full day and be removeable/replaceable, never know how long I will keep the phone 5] expandable memory 6] HD screen 7] Camera 8] Operating system It has taken me a year and a half to buy/pre order a new phone sticking to the above I was looking at a 2nd hand Lumia 935 and lg g3, but I couldn't bring myself to shelling out that sort of money on a 2nd hand phone. My wait for my new phone, elephone p7000, looks like it has been extended to may before release from china, they might be waiting for cost of parts to come down. My pre order was charged straight away as well. http://www.gizchina.com/2015/03/25/e...ch-in-may-now/ |

I find the advancement of technology really exciting and interesting and I'm one of those who's not just happy knowing it works, I want to know how it works!
For me having a handset with features that aren't actually available yet is the best bit. So VoLTE and WiFi calling are important so I can get testing when they launch. ![]() Other than this and on the flip-side, my phone is a work tool..... 1. Biggest screen Size that will it go in my pocket comfortably. 2. Speed - Efficiency of operation for the main Smartphone functions (Contact handling, Calendar, call's, Texts, Email, Sat Nav). 3. Display should be IPS LCD if possible. 4. High speaker volume so I can do hands-free without a Bluetooth kit (my car is very old : ) |
