It's here! It's actually here! Somewhere in the depths of the BBC they've found the Car Share tapes and now it graces the world... but how will it rate? BBC One and ITV go head to head with dramas as The C Word and Home Fires battle it out; which show will win? Inspector George Gently returns on Wednesday so how will it do and will it dent Newzoids further? The election is slogging to a close but will the Question Time special poll high? Nick and Margaret don't really care... they're playing around on trains! Will the show keep you on the right track to win the week?

Most impressive.

Any thoughts on how Empire might do for E4 tomorrow? The marketing has been extensive so 1m+ seems likely. Good slot for it as well as there doesn't appear to be much direct competition from the main channels for those 16-34s.

4.8m for Safe House according to Overnights TV. Don't know if it includes +1.

I've got that on my planner and will watch after all episodes broadcast. Enjoy this sort of stuff better without full week interval.

Jenny Bradley's bizarre behaviour sent Coronation Street back above the 7 million mark on Monday evening (April 27), overnight figures show.

Corrie was easily the most-watched show of the day, bringing in 6.95m (34.9%) at 7.30pm on ITV as Jenny slapped Maria in an argument over Liam and Jack, while the audience rose to 7.11m (32.3%) at 8.30pm and 139k (0.7%) on +1 as Jenny infuriated Maria and Sophie by lying about what had happened.

EastEnders attracted 6.14m (29.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as Karin Smart returned with bad news for Max, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 334k (2.5%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 5.81m (31.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 106k (0.5%) on +1 as Robert struggled to save his marriage to Chrissie.

That EE rating is low. Corrie and ED up on last Monday but EE down .

Poor rating and share for EastEnders on a Monday. And people can say Corrie isn't good at the moment but as it is higher than EastEnders no changes will be made. None!

EE is poor at the moment according to the soaps forum and Corrie is most definitely improving.

That is a shocker for EE. Share and audience down. Other soaps lost some share too but their ratings at least went up from last week.

Three sub 3m programmes for BBC One last night. Can't have helped EastEnders being surrounded by this lot in fairness.

SNP Interview: 2.38m (11.9%)
Who Will Win the Election?: 2.19m (10.0%)
New Tricks: 2.57m (12.1%)

Awful night all round for BBC One. That maybe boosted Corrie but EE shouldn't be so low.

EE is poor at the moment according to the soaps forum and Corrie is most definitely improving.
If the Soap Awards were held straight after Live Week EastEnders would win Best Soap easily. Now the vote might be closer between 2 or 3.

EastEnders is treading water at the moment.

Channel 4 capitalised on BBC One's misfiring election output with an excellent figure for last night's Dispatches.

The Secrets of Sports Direct pulled in 2.05m viewers at 8pm. (inc. +1)

Christopher Eccleston's Safe House tops ratings but loses 700,000 viewers

Christopher Eccleston's Safe House continued to top the ratings outside of soaps, according to overnight figures for Monday (April 27).

The ITV drama's second episode brought in 4.57m (21.4%) at 9pm (219k/1.4%), losing around 700,000 viewers from last week's opener. Earlier, Wild Ireland interested 3.04m (14.3%) at 8pm (129k/0.6%).

On BBC One, Evan Davis's interview with SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon was seen by 2.38m (11.9%) at 7.30pm, while Who Will Win the Election? followed with 2.19m (10.0%) at 8.30pm. New Tricks entertained 2.57m (12.1%) at 9pm.

BBC Two's Alex Polizzi: Chefs on Trial continued with 1.28m (6.0%) at 8pm, before Inside Harley Street gathered 1.38m (6.5%) at 9pm, and Jack Dee's Election Helpdesk informed 1.15m (6.7%) at 10pm.

The Secrets of Sports Direct brought in 1.75m (8.1%) for Channel 4 at 8pm (298k/1.4%), while Skint was watched by 1.26m (5.9%) at 9pm (205k/1.2%).

Over on Channel 5, Police Interceptors thrilled 638k (3.0%) at 8pm (86k/0.7%), and Gotham entertained 789k (3.7%) at 9pm. The latest episode of Person of Interest aired to 568k (3.6%) at 10pm (78k/1.0%).

Game of Thrones brought in 999k (4.8%) for Sky Atlantic at 9pm, while E4's Made in Chelsea dropped to 386k (1.8%) in the same timeslot.

Those numbers are better than what has surrounded ITV soaps at times lately.

Probably got to go down as disappointing that Safe House lost that many when you look at 9pm overall. Where exactly did the viewers go? The alternatives weren't exactly strong.

Good to see Jack Dee's show rating well for BBC Two. I enjoyed that last night. Between this, The Last Leg, Screenwipe and also C4's Alternative Election Night, viewers looking for a light hearted take on the election are spoilt for choice this time around.

I see C4 are also doing overnight coverage of the results this year with Paxman. Something tells me the BBC and ITV won't be too pleased about that, more so the latter.

Somebody asked the other day how The Goldbergs was doing for E4.

The figure I have for yesterday's episode (S1, E6) at 7.30pm is 0.22m (1.1%). It was the 3rd most watched E4 programme in peak, so at least rated better than Revenge (8pm) and Virtually Famous (10pm).

Plus EastEnders has done better while surrounded by programmes with similar ratings to those of last night.

I do love a catchy programme title:

ITV is piloting a cookery panel show fronted by talk show host Jonathan Ross.

The Jonathan Ross Cookery Panel Show will test two teams of celebrity contestants on their knowledge of food and skill preparing it during a series of rounds.

Broadcast understands the pilot will be made by Ross’ indie, Hot Sauce TV, which produces his chat show alongside ITV Studios.

Described as a “mouth-watering, light-hearted celebration of food in all its forms”, the show will look at high cuisine, comfort food and fast food favourites.

Good for the Goldbergs relative to everything else. Revenge has been tossed around by E4 this season, why put a 22 week drama in the 9pm slot if you have to keep moving it for MIC?

Virtually famous should have joined the panel show scrap heap after series 1.

Somehow I don't think Sports Direct will get a lot of customers now

A drop for Safe House, but should stay above 4m for the last two episodes. The Leader Interviews were never gonna catch viewer attention. EE down 250k on last Monday so hardly a big drop, fine rating for CS though, decent rating for Dispatches on C4 over 2m inc +1.

BBC One will be hoping for better ratings the next few evenings, with Car Share, George Gently & Question Time in primetime. I just watched Car Share on iPlayer - not sure if it is more BBC Two in its style, all 6 episodes were pretty good. I can see it opening to around 4.5m but dropping to 3.0m by the end of its run.

The 1st episode was not exactly strong though so I can see why some drifted off, people will not watch just for the sake of it anymore it seems.

Eastenders ratings are getting lower and lower by week it doesn't help the storylines are boring. Eastenders needs to start improving and needs another big storylines because It is crap and boring atm. This shows me eastenders is not as strong as corrie with the loyal viewers.
