Freezing cold here up north - I'd expect it to be close, if not beating last week's figure.

ITV don't really have any other option in these circumstances, after their news channel went tits up.

BBC One never likes this time of year, and especially since Doctor Who has been moved, they don't have that much to crow about on Saturdays in May. I suppose there's the Eurovision, but not a lot else for them to boast about in the ratings.
Of course, they can always shove on a Pointless repeat, of which they must have a couple of thousand by now ( yawn).

BBC One didn't have to show it as there is a BBC News Channel.

They did show it at various times during the morning and early afternoon. Almost as if they changed their mind half way through the day, maybe the duty controller that took over at teatime was anti-royals, and the one on this morning was a royalist!

Don't start talking common sense on here, apart from anything else it won't be appreciated.

BGT ended at 9.16 but was scheduled to run until 9.20 according to the EPG so there will be a full slot and a tapechecked rating tomorrow.

You have too wonder where the soaps will be in 5 years time. In 2010 they were all in rudest health. Now in 2015 have all lost millions over that period. Will 2020 sees the soaps dropping to lows of less than 5m? The decline over the years has been steep and the channel controllers cannot be complacent. They will not survive if something is not done soon.

I fear Corrie will never be able to get to figures over 9m again.

Very interesting figures which do not exactly match with the numerous anti EE posts we have seen today.
Some typical Ratings Thread logic today where all the soap figures are pretty poor but somehow EE is in the worst state. It seems people only see what they want to see.

I think it will come close on BGT final week.

Corrie is in the worst state of quality for 2 years now, but let's not forget that EastEnders has got the savior DTC at the helm, he whe would turn EE around and get its ratings back up to top soap. The truth is this has not happened and EE has even dropped again YOY despite some anniversary pulling in 10m+ just a couple of months ago.

Corrie is performing poorly under a poor producer. Let us see how it does under a competent one.

Yeah, well pointed out.

The bosses of BBC One must be slitting their wrists at the moment what with ITV being so resurgent.

Newzoids, The Delivery Man, Slow Train Through Africa, Ice Rink On The Estate.....I mean, the BBC might as well throw in the towel.

The truth is apart from BGT and a couple of half decent dramas there is not much filling up the schedules at the moment on any channel.

First look at Corrie's fire stunt in new trailer:

http://www.itv.com/coronationstreet/...ria-court-fire

Looks like ITV are going all out with this one as it already has two separate trailers. I imagine this will get heavy promotion over the next few weeks. It looks really impressive actually.

@jamie_shepherd
Our ITV #RoyalBaby special peaked at 4.8 million viewers y'day when Kate came out, taking 30% share! 2.4m average. So proud of everyone!

I think that's a great average for well over 2 hours of live coverage of not much happening. I'd take a guess this is up on last Saturday times.

ITV's @BGT was Saturday's most watched programme, audience peak of 11.2m/52% share. BGMT topped the digital ratings with a peak of 1.7m.

Peak down a bit on last week but still strong and the share suggests fewer people were around than last week.

That she's not tweeted the average suggests it was below 10m, but that isn't entirely surprising with it being a Bank Holiday weekend. She'll only have a full slot average as well.

What was the point of BBC One building up the story across the day, only to gift itv with 4.8m viewers at the crux of the story at 6pm? They were happy to cut into Saturday Kitchen for the announcement of the birth but not an umpteenth repeat of Wall-E for the image that everyone wanted to see? OK, there was the BBC News Channel but who's going to seek that out on a Saturday evening?

Heads need examining at the BBC. It makes you think that what happens in W1A isn't far from the truth at all.

BBC One would be foolish to cut Wall-E to show a few seconds footage of a baby. Film rights on BBC One will be quite expensive.

BGT share down, I wonder when the peak was.

And now what ?

BBC News continues to thrash ITV News, that's what. With more than twice the number of viewers for the main bulletins. And on May 7 the BBC's election night coverage will put an overwhelming distance between itself and the ITV equivalent.

Yes, it's all well and good that ITV beat the BBC to the punch on this one occasion - every dog has its day and all that - but nobody really noticed in truth, those that did appear to have largely shrugged their shoulders and normal service shall be resumed very quickly. So why are we going on about it as if it's something extraordinary or remarkable? It's neither.

The BBC were in the middle of a feature film but covered it extensively on BBC News and later bulletins. More than adequate, most people would agree.
