Another Thursday, another three primetime ITV programmes under 2m.

TONIGHT: 1.97M
YOU'VE BEEN FRAMED!: 1.70M
FRAUD SQUAD: 1.99M
all including HD and +1

Just think, we're not even into summer yet. How grim are things going to look once BGT's done and dusted?

Channel 4 on Twitter revealing that Born Naughty - which had 2.3m including +1 - was up 42% on slot average and "more than double" for youngs. Impressive. But this other tweet of theirs is misleading:

Clearly rubbing it in about BB not doing all that well this series, but the above tweet makes it sound as though The Secret World of Tinder was on top when on the figure I've got it doesn't take a mathematician to work out it clearly wasn't. If they were in front in 16-34s between 9pm-11pm it was because of how well The Island did at 9pm, dragging up the overall average.

In Total People, The Secret World of Tinder was actually the weak link in an otherwise strong lineup of programmes, averaging 0.73m (4.8%). Even if an exceptional amount of those were 16-34s, I still don't see how it could have beaten BB in this demo.

So beware the spin on the @C4Press handle. Having said that, I do think Channel 4 is in a really good place right now ratings wise after a few very difficult years and is the most improved channel of 2015 so far. And last night's figures are a good example of that.
Channel 4 have been doing 16-34 tweets for months. Often they did it to mask how poor the overall rating for a programme was.

Channel 4 is doing very well but if it wasn't for their factual department ratings would be in the toilet. They've certainly improved as a channel. I think BBC2 have gone backwards.

I dread to think.

Nothing more than they deserve though. You've Been Framed on a Thursday at 8.30pm is not remotely acceptable. A Love of Dogs repeat even would have done at least a million more.

Also Celebrity Juice appears to be in serious decline. Another pretty limp figure for it last night (compared to what it used to get, 707k on its own is still good but by Juice's standards it is poor).

Terrible for Bit On The Side as well.

Losing Emma is really going to hurt the spinoff this summer.

Could be teatime before the soap report makes it, usual editor is probably on his way down to London for the soap awards.

I've given up complaining about the amount of YBF! on ITV. There seems to be more of it than ever at the moment.

Hadn't really noticed Juice's decline. They'll still be happy enough with it at that level.

You would think it obvious that the approach of these commercial broadcasters is wrong, and that they needed to change. But the people in charge still keep their jobs. Weird.

I suppose things will have to get to the stage where the company is actually under threat of non existence.

Yep poor for BOTS.

A bit of share info though:
Last nights share was higher than both the shares of the previous two years first Thursday shows. And it beat last year in general figures too. Really hoping this can beat last years.

Time bomb first Thursday gets 1.20 m (8.1%)
Power Trips first Thursday got 1.03m- (5.5%)
Secret and Lies first Thursday got 1.35 million (7.8%)

EastEnders had 6.33m (33.4%) if that helps.

Looks like I was wrong, DS have their soap report up http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...-thursday.html

But it is by a different editor.

That second Emmerdale looks low. What was it up against?!

At least it beat last years Thursday figure. Hopefully tonight might attract more people considering bad weather, people staying in due to exam season and a live show

Won't be surprised to see the channel line up as BBC1, BBC2, BGT, BGT +1, C4 and C5

Shouldn't that read ''outside of soaps andf news programmes'' as four BBC News programmes rated higher than Watchdog ?

Rating for Shark doesn't look great but of course a wins a win.

Can't believe a big deal is being made of "three programmes below 2m" when two of the figures are 1.97 and 1.99.

The main focus should be on Channel 5's who's biggest show of the year isn't even the biggest show of the night now. Imagine if BGT was rating lower than another show on the same night on the same channel. I expect there would be quite a few comments.

I think ED are being guilty of going to the 'someone in danger, come back to see what happens' well. That 8.00pm episode is always an albatross, I hope ITV drop it next year but without football I can't see them giving up that extra episode as they would have even more trouble with their schedule.

I think it's perfectly legitimate to point out that more is going wrong than right for ITV at the moment. I would describe it as a bleak season for them overall. Not much to take out of it. Ninja Warrior and BGT, that's about it.

If I worked in advertising, I would be looking to do more business with Channel 4 and less with ITV. I think they are delivering more consistently, and the right kind of viewer as well. Better value at this moment in time.

I watched Big Brother for the first time last night, and i can see why it has declined so much. The people who watched it in the first few years, like myself, are probably too old to relate to most of the housemates. I sat and watched a very pretentious girl talk about being 'polyamorous', and it was embarrasingly cringe-inducing. I dont think the younger generation are interested in BB either, so i can see the only way is down from here.

Have to say whilst viewing figures have been poor your comments do not reflect the general vibe I'm getting from reading the forums. A very different view to the above here: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2072198

Viewers haven't really given this series a chance from the outset, so I'm not convinced we can deduce that it's rating poorly because it's a worse than average series. In fact I'm very uncomfortable with that connection being made, especially with little evidence to support it.

Think the live feed may end up out rating BOTS tonight, Plus its much cheaper to broadcast.
