I watched Bargain Hunt: Series 40, part 27.

Then I cut my toenails.

As expected. Hour-long Emmerdales always catch some viewers out, although not to the extent they used to.

Why do the trailers for EE never actually say when it's on ? Just seen one on BBC1 which simply said ''This week'' which is not particularly helpful if you're a new viewer.

With reference to BBC managememnt and EastEnders, that certainly used to be the case, but many of these old fossils have retired from the corporation and this is not the case now! EastEnders is a vital part of the schedule for BBC One. I can see many on here cringing with despair. ”

EastEnders may have its champions within management but they are few and far between, you are wrong with your old fossils remark, if anything it's the seasoned management that has a desire to hang on to EE while the new younger management wants a change. If any more old fossils retire then EE will have no one to cheer for them within the BBC.

EE in my opinion stopped being a vital part of the schedule some years back, the lack of promotion, channel changes ect have had a detrimental effect on the show, its not water cooler tv anymore, saying that the same can be said for ITV and Corrie, ITV apparently are not concerned about the mess Corrie is in, management in London don't appear to support the show and those that do are few and far between, new brooms coming into ITV appear to have no interest in Corrie because if they did Blackburn would have been sacked before now. The only difference is that Corrie is still a pivotal anchor in their prime time schedule as it can still command higher advert rates.

We should be happy that soap ratings are decreasing because it means viewers are trying new programming/alternatives. Less reliance on soaps by broadcasters could be a win for them and a win for the viewer.

I feel sorry for those people without:-
Newspapers.
Radio times.
TV times,
Weekend guides.
EPG.
TIVO.
Online guides.

But yes the one person out of a coma this week who doesn't know it's Mon, Tue, Thursday and Friday, will have to watch IPlayer then.

Just a guess, maybe it says this week to ensure it is not a complete spoiler as to when the " incident" exactly occurs rather than saying its at 7.59 on Thursday, Duff duff duff, boom boom boom, ...

EastEnders will always have supporters and detractors in management, the investment in a new set and other changes has already been signed off. But it has been mishandled by BBC management and some producers. Lorraine Newman & Bryan Kirkwood helped kill the loyalty while management didn't notice and threw it under a bus we with no promotion when it changed time or channels. Corrie is in a creative mess but its ratings are better than EastEnders, that's why the producer hasn't been replaced.

EastEnders not being stronger after the anniversary was one of the biggest mistakes they ever did. When people fall out of the habit of watching it's difficult to get them back.

How did the Thunderbirds programme do on ITV2 last night? Thanks

The Paul O' Grady Show returns on the 20th April at 5pm on ITV. Glenn will be pleased, it means he can stop watching The Chase now.

What do people reckon this Eurovision thing is going to get? It's a decent enough show for fans but I wonder how casual viewers will react to it.

I don't have the rating, but I can tell you that it had less than 0.28m. (exc. +1)

The three most watched programmes on ITV2 in peak yesterday were:

1. Celeb Juice - 10PM - 0.83m
2. You've Been Framed! - 7:30PM - 0.32m
3. Scorpion - 9PM - 0.28m

Hmm that doesn't bode well for the main show. I didn't even realise it was on.

Do you work for the Beeb or do you have friends or relations in the know at the coroporation. You seemed well informed. Perhaps the Daily Mirror helped?

It wasn't promoted at all. The main show has been non stop. The behind the scenes show is being repeated about 5 times over the next week on ITV2 and ITV.
