Really? Surprised at that. Thought it would have been a lot more. Shame as it was a great show.

Genuinely gutted at that rating, wtf do people want- A spectacular concert as a Special event and it doesn't break 2 million- I guess the UK just doesn't care about the contest outside of May but the BBC deserved more for their effort in running it

No problem. It's nice not having to wait ages on a Saturday for our ratings fix.

Eek! There was always the potential for it to post an absolute stinker of a rating I suppose so I'm not massively surprised.

Terrible for a Bank Holiday, surely a record low for BBC One on such a day.

The BBC had a terrible night, and for a Bank Holiday really surprising.

Corrie and Emmerdale held up better than I thought they would for Good Friday.

With figures like that you can see why tv channels do not attempt to do anything special.

I guess though you could say that it is self fulfilling - why invest with programmes when the viewers are not there, but then if there is nothing special to see ...........

Must have been a high total viewers if a 3% share Difference leads to million viewers difference for the soaps.

Although I bet the BBC thought they were doing something special with the Eurovision thing, just the viewers didnt want to watch it.

To be blunt about it, it was only a special event for Eurovision fans, and whilst they're a passionate bunch that's not an awful lot of people it turns out.

The BBC's recent approach to Eurovision hasn't helped things; we've hardly entered songs to get people interested in the contest and the subsequent results have dampened the ardour further.

Also the title made it sound like a cheap clip show. I think if they had called in Eurovision's Anniversary Concert, or something along those lines, it may have attracted a few more viewers.

The shares for the soaps are awful. The second Coronation Street had competition in MasterChef as an excuse but I'm not sure about the others.

To air on the ITV main channel at 3am on Monday's.

I'm still annoyed at ITV's scheduling of Thunderbirds. They have nothing better to air in the 6pm/6.30pm slot so why not try it out there permanently? It may be more attractive to children but so be it; at least it'd look like an effort is being made rather than a repeat of You've Been Framed series 625 episide 7.

Are we sure that Eurovision rating is right? It seems too low, particularly with nothing of note against it? Did it even offend the default audience that even they didn't watch it?

If this thread was in any way representative, based on number of mentions alone which isn't very scientific I know Thunderbirds would get about 6M tonight I think !

You can't just casually walk in and drop the default audience bomb on us !

We were having such a nice morning in here and getting along famously, now you'd have to fear the worst...

Good figures for 'Gogglebox' Channel 4 of course will milk this to its death

I am pretty desperate for it to rate well, partly because I love the franchise (and watched every episode more than once when I was young) and partly because I want ITV to be proved wrong in moving it.

As said previously, why promote it so widely when they're going to be moving it from a reasonable - though not brilliant - slot after one episode?

Indeed I do...

BBC News 10pm 4.47m 23.1%
ITV News 3.7m 19.9%
Agenda 1.1m 8.8% though it was steadily dropping throughout and finished with 731k
Question Time 2.6m 22.7%

I don't get Sky News figures.
