Does anyone know how Transporter: The Series is getting on for Spike, and it's repeats on Channel 5?

I expected it to be a decent show given the movie it is based on but couldn't finish the first episode because the production was so silly.

There is also their other new show 19-2 if anyone has ratings for that?

Last night it didn't make Channel 5's top 3 on the Broadcast app, so it got no more than 0.46m exc +1.

Casualty is solid but it used to make such an impact when it was only on through Autumn/Winter and returned with a bang each series..

I would suggest avoiding the Casualty summer trailer. It gives some good hints at what is to come with some huge cliffhangers - but then by the end of the trailer, has resolved them. You feel like you just want to bang heads together for putting out something so pointless

Agreed - Casualty always worked best as an autumn / winter series.

Those days are long gone, sadly - the BBC has bled the format dry and it doesn't help that both it and Holby are on all year round. "Familiarity breeds contempt..." What else would the BBC put on, though? It's sad that Casualty is now little more than a useful schedule filler.

Not to mention the rise of the talent shows and multi-channel environment over the last decade that have contributed to Casualty's decline.

The BBC could have screened a decent film at 10.30pm on Summer Saturdays. There are few enough decent films on freeview anyway and with the restraints of scheduling relaxed a little due to the absence of MOTD, they could have started John Bishop at 9pm, Not Going Out at 9.45pm then the film at 10.30 after the News. I am sure they could have found a handful of movies from somewhere!

It would have also been good for Casualty to have a few weeks rest.

Unfortunately you would then get some saying that the BBC shouldn't be wasting money on acquiring content which is catered for elsewhere. Should the BBC invest in British programming or acquire overseas content albeit a film rights package ?

Davis Cup coverage on BBC 2 yesterday peaked at just over 2 million.

Probably do with the age skew more than anything. ITV need something like this that holds up well during Summer, but a drama rating around 3.5-4m would probably not be enough to warrant producing it when film rights and LE bring in more profit and younger skew.

It's at times like this when The Bill pre-revamp would have worked for ITV. It was popular up to the point where they changed it too much.

That's not going to stay in the slot for long I'd have thought. It would probably be fine to keep it for Spike though. The difference in violence/swearing/nudity between episode one and two was quite noticeable; last week it aired at 8pm, certainly this week's couldn't have done. They'd have been better off showing American Horror Story on the main channel which has just started airing from the beginning on 5*. A much better show and would appeal to a wider audience.

It's this time of year when arguably Casualty is most valuable to BBC1, as it's often the biggest/2nd biggest show on a Saturday night. If Casualty ever takes a break, it might be better to do it in the Autumn when there are far stronger shows in the BBC1 Saturday night schedule

It would be interesting to see the demos for Casualty, I suspect they are not very advertiser friendly!

And rating for the boxing inc HD ? Was a good scrap!

From DS report, boxing averaged 1.60m (10.5%) inc HD (12.5% in HD), exc +1.

Potter had a lower HD component than I estimated at 16% (2.76m inc HD, exc +1).

That's sort of golf's problem, though. As a sport, it increasingly just preaches to the converted and is gradually losing relevance to the rest of the population. The Ryder Cup is the honourable exception here - the format of that seems to capture imaginations - but the majors just feel like an irrelevance in 'major TV event' terms.

It'll be interesting to see how the Open squares up to the Davis Cup on BBC's One and Two, respectively, this afternoon.

has ITV turned in to challenge, the schedule is full of game shows this weekend.

Only problem is that Challenge has better game shows because there is no celebs in them.

You can enjoy a 30 year old episode of Bullseye, so much better than Smarmy Creep Walsh and Celebrity Chase. In its day Bullseye was a massive Sunday afternoon hit, attracting 14 million viewers, to its simple and enjoyable format.
