These are the top 20 programmes for the week of 6-12 July (from Broadcast).

All ratings include +1. No show is included in the list twice.”

If the ratings include +1 the gap is very narrow between CS and EE.

Highly unlikely due to Eastenders. Maybe at 8:30pm though, if it's still going on. Not exactly a blockbuster schedule on BBC One tonight.

That's an excellent timeshift for the Friday EastEnders. Bear thing that happened to it was the end of the omnibus.

I am also noticing the 30 day catch up is helping as well. It adding around 0.16-0.18+ to the add episode range recently

Golf action finished around 19:57; coverage is currently scheduled until 20:30, with Hair presumably delayed to another night as University Challenge and Only Connect are put back half an hour.

Was there any serious competition to The Ashes on Pay TV ?

Agreed. Really can't see the fuss in just switching over.
Maybe if Rory was in the play off they would of kept it on BBC1

Sigourney Weaver has filmed a guest stint in the seventh series of Doc Martin.

Quite a coup for them.

Only Connect on at 21:00 because of the golf, The Open won't be mentioned in five years time when it fades away because its on Sky.

I'll be interested to see what this delayed and long day of golf gets in the ratings as it seemed to go on for hours and also, switching to BBC Two to see if Look North was starting at 6.30, there was a quiz show.
However, for all Sky get exclusive live coverage after next year, the BBC are guaranteed two hours of highlights every night, so I'd think ratings for these will be high.

1.42m timeshift for Friday's EE! Where the hell did that come from?! Was it a big episode?

Some decent timeshifts for Corrie (especially the second Monday episode, the Wednesday episode and both Friday episodes). It's still doing decently in the consolidated numbers for the time of year.

It was a normal episode.

The Great British Bake off is in the Next Week section of the new TV Times for the week of 1-7 August along with New Tricks, The Great British Menu and Earth Natural Wonders and the big upcoming disaster in Emmerdale.

So much new stuff next week it could be the start of Autumn rather than mid summer August heh

Some nice new programmes there for the beginning of August and hopefully a good week of episodes for Emmerdale.

It would be nice to see more fresh and worthwhile programming throughout the whole year rather than blocks where we find wall to wall low rating factual. It seems weird that we have little to view on a Saturday evening when Bakeoff shows that there are huge numbers around.

Two things as well might explain the high and impressive, after some terrible ratings this summer, for CS. The weather has been dreadful in the show's heartland last night and also the golf will have had non fans expecting their BBC favourites switching over. There's also the post Deirdre bump which might have had some ex viewers tuning in.
It will be interesting to see how the first Monday Open in my lifetime peaks on BBC One when the report comes in.
