My opinion on Corrie: Yes it does have a very loyal default audience. I know because I am part of that audience. I've never considered not watching it regardless of how bad it gets.
However I still find the show relatively easy to watch when it isn't trying too hard for contrived drama. As for ED, this week we learned that it is possible to execute a character driven stunt. Simply superb. So many emotional scenes, shocks, and drama. The stunt effects are nowhere near the best moments of the week and that is a good thing. The character interactions and writing was of such a high standard. It wasn't perfect but it was pretty close. Tonight's episode was unbelievable. Perfect conclusion to the week.
