Not sure what the soaps has to do with it, there would still be a 9pm slot, and probably one with a lower lead in if there were no soaps on Fridays.

Bear Grylls was said to be a poor fit as it was aiming at a younger audience so was said to be badly scheduled.

A travel doc with Griff Rhys Jones sounds to be to be older skewing, matching the audience available on Fridays, but apparently that is still a poor fit?

New Entertainment shows struggle to get going even on Saturdays, so would also be branded as poor scheduling and viewers aren't used to entertainment on Fridays.

Any new drama on a Friday is said to be being burnt off, any existing drama moved to Fridays is said to be heading for cancellation.

Piers Morgan doesn't do that well, Paul O'Grady never did that well either.

Bear in mind even BBC1 struggles on Fridays quite a lot of the year when HIGNFY isn't on.

I'm predicting 9m for BGT. Have ITV been promoting it well this year?

I've seen the trailer a fair bit so ITV have been promoting it.

I imagine it is part or the contract with Currys for the pre weekend shopping advertising slots.

Ninja Warrior could be a surprise hit tonight.

Considering the good weather and the frankly terrible lead in, it's doing great, I wonder how it would fare in a mid week slot or at 9pm. I imagine 5 will have more projects for Dan in the pipeline.

ITV will walk across the BBC tonight. Heavy 'Super Saturday' promotion, probably due to two new shows launching in one night. I think both will be a hit. 9-10m for BGT I reckon.

Expecting sub 4m for the two new ITV shows and sub 10m for BGT. The BGT +1 figure ought be decent thought once night time falls.

Will Atlantic collapse or can it stay above 4 million?

guessing we wont get any ratings for Thunderbirds?

The BBC might as well not show Atlantis. I expect 3m. It's also pretty nice this evening, so I expect there will be a small drop for everything tonight.

It was very good actually, Very like Total Wipe out (down to little details like the beside course interviews and laughing at people falling off things) but solidly made light entertainment- This is the first time in a long time itv have had me wanting to watch from 7pm onwards- Shame it's taken nearly half the year for them to wake up and put together a decent supportive Saturday line up

Tonight's schedule is what people here always complain doesn't usually happen, a full schedule of new programmes, not a 'one show schedule' like it often is.

yeah cos Jedward are real rating winners wherever they go !!
You do have some strange conspiracy theories Andy.

And even on Sky's ITV catch up service today's episode was only available in SD when I last looked.

What was the point of making it in HD if you have to live in another country to watch it that way?

Why wouldn't it have been in HD this morning on ITV HD?

Yes ITV having a go. Atlantis is very weak given its axed and the BBC haven't got a standout show for the first time since Strictly started last year. So its back to the worthy but dull. ITV will be hoping the audience hasn't forgotten where three button is at 7pm.

Well if they do it will be the first time on a Saturday since September 2014.

The schedule last year by the way - 12th April 2014 was this:

BBC ONE
19:00 Pointless Celebrities
19:50 National Lottery: In it to Win it
20:40 Casualty
21:30 The Guess List
22:10 BBC News

ITV
19:15 Britain's Got Talent
20:30 Amazing Greys
21:30 Law and Order UK (repeat)

2013 of course had The Voice on BBC One with The Cube and Jonathan Ross following BGT

Well as every time BBC has won Saturday night we have had the same comment about ITV not turning up then I think it only right to point out how weak BBC is tonight. Atlantis will be lucky to be 3m+ and IITWI is only a 3-4m show these days. I dont personally like anything ITV have on tonight but it deserves to win the ratings IMO.

How much better does ITV look this year, I do think it's a shame Thunderbirds isn't getting a shot at kicking things off at 6.30- Not like they have much to lose really

Yeah I woud definitely have kept Thunderbirds at 6.30 but it is easily better schedule than last years. More 'family friendly' I think right up until 9.20.

I agree - and possibly from next week they should have repeated Newzoids and The Delivery Man after Play to the Whistle to really make a night of it as I can't see Wednesday 9pm working out well for either.

BGT could possibly hit the 12m mark?

Until I saw the advert tonight, I thought Newzoids was going to be a Saturday show, quite an odd choice for Wednesday 9pm. Maybe it would have been better in the Friday 9pm slot or even held off for Saturday when PTTW has ended?

I doubt it. 10 million tops and I think I'm being quite generous.
