Wimbledon, an FA Cup Final which looks likely to include at least one big team, and the new series of the show which was the highest rated programme phtside sport last year, but other than that, nah. Not a exciting summer of sport, especially when compared to last year/next year.

But let's not forget BBC. Totally abysmal. And does anyone know what - if anything - they've got lined up between now and Strictly's return, FIVE months away?

What was that?
![]() Did something overtake it in the end? I must have forgotten that, I apologise. But regardless, still a big rater and probably the most interesting set of ratings that'll happen this year in terms of whether a programme builds on its previous success or has now peaked. |

Fun fact: last night's BGT rated higher than any episode of the most recent series of The X Factor, The Voice or Strictly Come Dancing, with the sole exceptions of Strictly's final and its Blackpool special.

There's Emma Willis' Games how so I'd think that'll take Pointless Celebs slot in summer- I think they've given Atlantis a tough time to justify cancelling it, if they'd had it inheriting the voice lead in it may have not disgraced itself- BBC do need something for Q2 next year though- It looks pretty bare since shifting TVUK

Next Saturday it's the FA Cup semi-final and no Pointless
![]() They also have the FA Cup final on May 30th, which will at least nudge into primetime and possibly go quite far into primetime should the match not be finished in 90 minutes.

Saying that have BBC One had a 10m overnight average this year outside of EastEnders Live (and that's to 2dp. To 3dp it pulled in 9.97m excluding BBC Three's repeat)? They've held up a lot better in the 5m-9m range than ITV but I don't think anything else has gone over the 10m mark.

The point was that essentially it outrated all regular episodes. The final is obviously going to be higher and the Blackpool week was a special week and the ratings for it were more than half a million above all the other episodes. Regular Strictly was doing mid-9s last Autumn, so it outdid that.
Personally I think special episodes are ones outside a series like at Christmas. But that's just me. |
