Normally the ads are front-loaded so the breaks are more frequent at the start of C5's movies but then towards the end you get a long uninterrupted chunk.
The rules on this are quite strict so I can't imagine any Ofcom rules were broken. But obviously the inclusion of 5 News Updates enables them to carry slightly more ads. They do this on the digital channels as well, entertainment news of some kind usually.

Antiques Roadshow a little lower than normal although still a decent number. Very poor night for C4 and E4 didn't really make up for it. Another strong number for More Talent. That'll be 0.7-0.8m with +1, which on top of the 1.6-1.7m from Saturday gives a very impressive total.”
MasterChef has really impressed me this run. When you think of its demos as well, it's a bigger show than people give it credit for.
C4 not at the races at all yesterday. Interesting you mention E4 as well because I was looking at those Big Bang Theory ratings and thinking they were quite disappointing and it's rare you can say that about BBT. But you wouldn't expect E4 to be coming in behind BBC Four, Dave and even Sky1 in some of those slots.
But then I looked back, and by my reckoning those were the
68th, 69th and 70th screenings respectively of BBT episodes that
week on E4 !

They're doing precisely what I hoped they wouldn't do and are slinging it in every slot that needs filling for easy ratings, except by doing that they are lessening the demand and its ratings are becoming far more ordinary. You really can have too much of a good thing.
