Those are for half hour segments, not the full three hour programme.

Thanks for that. I don't know what to make of that, whether it's good or bad? Suppose it's not bad for a channel that's way down on any EPG, but I'm sure Weekend Breakfast gets near 300,000 for their shows on BBC News Channel only? With that and the fact it's an established news show with a *big* presenter - and I don't use that term lightly, I'm not so sure it is.

Hopefully GMB will axed, awful trashy rubbish.

Breakfast got 526,000 for its Sunday 5th April edition on the BBC News Channel (i.e. the hour between 8-9am which is not simulcast with BBC One, when the latter is screening the Sunday morning Match of the Day repeat).

Given that Breakfast tends to use lower-profile BBC journalists to front Breakfast on Sundays, I would say that 526,000 is pretty good going for early Sunday morning on the News Channel.

Phenomenal for GoT on Sky Atlantic. Highest ever Sky Atlantic rating.

Meanwhile GoT received a series high for it's premiere on Sunday night on cable channel, HBO getting a demo of 4.2 and 8.00m viewers. It thrashed all the programmes on all channels in the US despite being on cable.

Think late Sunday morning may get better ratings on the news channel then early morning. Andrew Marr and Sunday Politics is sort a invite to the BBC News Channel these days.

BREAKING NEWS

Peter Kay's Car Share has finally appeared in BBC1's schedules! Provisionally set to begin Wednesday 29th April at 9.30pm, continuing the next day at the same time.

The lead-in on Wednesday is the return of Inspector George Gently and on Thursday it is Question Time Election Leaders Special (both 8-9.30pm) so not exactly the most suitable lead-ins but oh well.

This means that it'll be up against ITV's new sitcom The Delivery Man. Oh dear...

But Andrew Marr and the Sunday Politics aren't simulcast on the BBC News Channel; they're only on BBC One (unless I'm misinterpreting what you are saying).

Car Share on twice in a week? Is it good or a burn off? And George Gently opposite ITV's Newzoids followed by Peter Kay opposite Delivery Man. That could hurt the ITV comedy hour.

All those potential slots and BBC One pitch comedy against comedy??? Sure they'll come out of it smelling of roses though.

That's fantastic sort of rating I think. Least no one can say people can't find BBC News Channel etc...

Sure, if they want it, they'll find it.

That rating is averaging not that far off the GMB figure, which is broadcast on a mainstream channel.

Confirmed: Spike UK's first live sporting event - BAMMA 20, Saturday April 25 at 10pm. Exclusively on Freeview 31.

Also confirmed: Friday nights at 9pm and 10pm for Season 5 of The Walking Dead, brand new to Freeview. Starts May 1.

A shame for new comedy to clash. Newzoids and The Delivery Man have two weeks to build up an audience.

I was talking about people turning into the news channel instead of watching BBC One as they are both very dull viewing.

BAMMA will do well as there isn't loads of choice on Freeview on Saturday night.

MIC'S rating looks awful for its series opener. Is it usually that low? Putting it at 9pm against GOT was stupid.

According to BARB, that 8am-9am Sunday slot for Breakfast (which is not simulcast on BBC One) is the highest rated slot of the week for the BBC News Channel, with 526,000, week ending 5th April. The audience for the News Channel on Sunday morning diminishes afterwards: 9-9:30am gets 501,000. 9:30-10am gets 393,000. 10-10:30am gets 265,000. No other Sunday slot on the News Channel features in its top ten.

I don't know what Andrew Marr and Sunday Politics gets at the same time on BBC One, but I'd imagine that Andrew Marr at least gets more than those figures; it is quite an agenda-setting programme, with high profile interviews, "boring" as it might seem.

Including +1 it had 680,000. If anything that would be higher than average.

It's a great rating. Around twice as popular as anything shown on ITV2 yesterday. Also well up on what TOWIE has been getting since it switched to ITV Be.

It's probably the most watched of these dreaded constructed reality shows now.

Gently on at 8pm Wednesday does not sound like an ideal slot either.

With rolling news the audience is different throughout the day on the news channel, The people watching at 10am are most likely not the same as the people watching at 8am.

According to Wikipedia, series 7 averaged over 1 million. Is that incorrect? Didn't see its +1 figure originally but if that's getting nearly half the original than surely 10pm would've been a better time with the younger audience tuned into GOT?

Sounds like Wiki lists the officials rather than the overnights.

It could still get close to that sort of number, especially if there is much of a crossover with GoT but I doubt it.

It's a good slot for a feature length drama. Gently was on Thursdays at 8.30pm and did well there. But we see drama struggle on Wednesday generally. Can it buck the trend?

Fair enough but the original point you made was that you thought later slots on the BBC News Channel on Sunday mornings after Breakfast get "better ratings". Judging by the BARB figures I cited (which are pretty typical for the News Channel), they don't.
