Great news, love Friday Night Dinner

Untrue, there was a political programme called "This Week" after Question Time presented by a boke with a Weetabix attached to his head.”

Good for This Week to hit 1m - hope it doesn't do it too often though, might mean an end to the endless gags about nobody watching

Safe House could provide safe haven for ITV in terms of ratings but will it deliver? Chefs are being put under pressure - both by Greg Wallace/John Torode and by Alex Polizzi but what kind of audience will they pull in? Ballot Monkeys is another show trying a satirical (presumably) look at the world but will it work? Could Plus Sized Wars result in Plus Size viewers? Could The Impossible do impossibly well for Channel 4?

Why not have a go on the DS Ratings Prediction Game and try and predict how these and many other shows will do? Simply click
HERE, hit quote, delete the quote marks and get predicting!

Thank you in advance to everyone who takes part!

It be a poor version of the original that is airing on Spike TV at the moment

Yeah, the reason why the US one works is there are proper big-name a-listers like Anne Hathaway on. If we did it, it would be Louie Spence and Vanessa Feltz, presented by Stacey Solomon.

BBC Election Debate much lower than I expected. Very strange format that fell flat. I know it couldn't be helped but I doubt they will repeat that format in a hurry.

Emmerdale didn't fall as low as was being predicted, in fact may have been higher than last week.

Another point is that people need to remember that 99% of viewers don't know about commissioning decisions, so nobody will know that Car share has been on the shelf for decades. To them it's just a new series that week.

A few details from the DigiGuide update. BBC1 will have a special Question Time on Friday 8th at 8.30pm with HIGNFY at 9.30pm.

BBC1's Election coverage runs continuously from 9.55pm on Thursday to 1.00pm on Friday (David Dimbleby presents from 9.55pm, Huw Edwards takes over at 7.00am). There's a couple of TBA's in the afternoon at 2.45pm and 4.15pm which are presumably further Election programmes - I expect the rest of the afternoon schedule could be ripped up, depending on events.

ITV's Election coverage runs from 9.55pm to 6.00am. Then a Good Morning Britain Election Special, followed by ITV News Election coverage from 9.25am to 4.00pm.

Truly awful for ITV last night between Emmerdale. ITV's factual commissioner has been nothing short of a disaster. Looks like ITV need to give him the push. They should not be settling for sub 1.5m viewers at 9pm.

Well, that's certainly a change to what was scheduled in recent years, when ITV have usually finished mid-morning, so well done to them for that. I can't imagine BBC1 will finish at 1pm if ITV are going on until 4pm. Last time they were scheduled to finish at 2pm but carried on until about 4.30 and I can't imagine this election being any more straightforward so it'll probably take up most of the day.

One thing that's also going to be on that night is the One Show VE Day Special and of course the commemorations for that will be taking place over the weekend. It was pointed out that when they did the Fixed Term Parliament Act they forgot it would mean every election would now clash with the anniversary of VE Day, which amusingly means all the party leaders have to show up, which will be really embarrassing for whoever's lost badly.

For those that have forgotten, this is what actually happened to BBC One's schedules in 2010:

Thursday 6th May
21:55 - Election 2010

Friday 7th May
06:00 - Breakfast
09:05 - BBC Regional News
09:30 - Breakfast
10:00 - Election 2010
13:00 - BBC News
13:15 - BBC Regional News
13:30 - Election 2010
15:45 - as scheduled

Saturday 8th May
12:00 to 12:35 - Election 2010

Monday 10th May
17:15 to 18:00 - BBC News Special

Tuesday 11th May
17:15 - BBC News Special
18:00 - BBC News at Six
18:30 - BBC Regional News
19:00 - The One Show
19:20 - BBC News Special
21:00 - as scheduled

Given that ITV are staying on air until 16:00, I can't see BBC going off air any earlier than that.

Maverick revives dinosaurs for ITV

17 April, 2015 | By Matthew Campelli

Maverick Television is to turn Britain into a dinosaur-inhabited island using CGI techniques for an ITV series about the prehistoric creatures.

Dinosaur Britain will explore over 100 different species of dinosaurs, which once roamed the UK, by placing them in modern surroundings using the visual software. It will reveal hunting techniques, eating habits and possible causes of their extinction using evidence discovered from their bones.

The 2 x 60-minute series will also look at the types of species that lived in the UK, including the sauropods, which were the length of two double decker buses.

CGI techniques were previously used to explore the lives of dinosaurs for BBC1 series Walking With Dinosaurs (pictured). The in-house and Impossible Pictures production ran for six episodes in 1999.

ITV director of factual Richard Klein ordered the series with factual commissioning editor Andrew O’Connell.

Maverick head of factual Dan Goldsack will exec produced the series with Gareth Johnson as producer / director.

Interesting commission, but again something that will more than likely be below 3m.

This is also something we've seen before on Walking With Dinosaurs.

Nowhere near as bad as I'd feared. Amazing what you can get away with if the word "celebrity" is involved.”

Thanks!

And people still remember it. If all the people that watched it 17 years ago had mass amnesia then it would feel new. It's the same thing with Newzoids, people will say Spiting Image when they think of a satirical puppet show. Dinosaur Britain doesn't sound new enough.

It'll probably do better than some of Richard Klein's other factual efforts.

But only five years after the Walking With Dinosaurs follow up, Planet Dinosaur.

Which bombed.

Great weather, combined with the end of the Easter holidays definitely the two main factors in my view.

Horrible. But will ITV act? No of course they won't, being that they are still above EE.

I'm pretty sure Corrie decline has affected all the soaps, because this sudden drop like that has happened so fast. Stuart Blackburn is simultaneously killing them all off.

I wonder if there is a case for scheduling the soaps later in the evening during the summer ?

Corrie's ratings should rise during BGT live week when it airs at 9pm

That isnt a bad idea considering the schedules will probably be filled with repeats most of the time.

What did Emmerdale get the year ITV aired it at 10pm during the world cup
