From DS. Not bad in the TG spot, although about half of the last TG, what was it getting in it's previous slot.

Caribbean with Simon Reeve averaged 2.58m (10.8%) at 8pm

From Digital Spy:

Poldark continues with 6.3m, Mr Selfridge brings in 3.4m for finale

Poldark continued to exceed 6 million viewers with its fourth episode, according to overnight figures for Sunday (March 29).

The latest instalment of the BBC One period drama was seen by 6.29m (26.6%) at 9pm. Earlier, Countryfile interested 5.78m (28.5%) at 7pm, and Antiques Roadshow gathered 4.67m (19.6%) at 8pm.

On BBC Two, The Sea King: Britain's Flying Past appealed to 940k (4.6%) at 7pm, before Caribbean with Simon Reeve averaged 2.58m (10.8%) at 8pm. Louis Theroux: By Reason of Insanity concluded with 1.98m (8.4%) at 9pm.

A celebrity special of ITV's The Chase entertained 3.12m (16.4%) at 6.30pm (93k/0.6% on +1), while Off Their Rockers continued with 3.20m (15.3%) at 7.30pm (169k/0.7%). Mr Selfridge wrapped up its third series with 3.42m (14.5%) at 9pm, with a further 392k (2.4%) tuning in on ITV+1.

On Channel 4, Great Canal Journeys interested 1.24m (5.2%) at 8pm (402k/1.7%). The latest Indian Summers dipped to 900k (3.8%) at 9pm (288k/1.8%).

Channel 5's documentary World's Scariest Animal Attacks brought in 765k (3.2%) at 8pm (68k/0.3%). Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters thrilled 1.26m (6.0%) at 9pm (237k/1.8%), before Step Brothers amused 441k (5.6%) at 10.45pm (66k/1.6%).

On ITVBe, TOWIE's latest episode brought in 506k (3.0%) at 10pm.

Not bad considering it was out of slot. Thought it would be a million lower.”

That share is almost identical to the poor shares for EE/ED earlier in the week although the raw number is higher presumably due to more people watching on a Sunday night.

I do, and I liked that, I enjoy seeing the pair of them riffing off each other and having a laugh. I thought the whole Japanese bit was very cleverly done, but I dunno what the general audience made of it. I have to say, given the audience laugh at any old rubbish, I was disappointed Dec's "Straight Outta Kempton" joke died on its arse.

I guess his original appointment was very much a Simon Cowell pick rather than an ITV one. But I think it potentially works in his favour as I could see him on BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4, Sky... whereas someone like Mulhern just seems so ITV.”

No, I think he seemed a bit of a leftfield choice when he got the job because he didn't seem to be your bland Saturday night host (I know he'd just done a lottery quiz, but you know what I mean). Of course he's always had his radio show as well. He's happy enough to work outside the mainstream and I think that stands him in good stead. I dunno if on YouTube they have that clip from Party In The Park where he had to fill for twenty minutes while they waited for Elton John to turn up (and then when they cut to the stage a stagehand started swearing extensively right next to a microphone),

Well, indeed, you can't blame Dermot for that, the whole concept was flawed. They never decided what kind of audience it was aiming at, whether it was a panel show aimed at a post-watershed audience or a big light entertainment thing, and it fell between two stools. Dermot did his usual professional job at it.

Yes, there's no excuse for Corrie to fail on a Sunday night at eight o'clock, it's a Sunday night at eight o'clock. A brilliant slot.

Coronation Street's rating is poor. It had the best pre watershed slot of the week and it failed to capitalize on that.

The show is floundering and needs some serious help with both scheduling and storylining. It can not withstand a move around the schedules anymore, it just simply isn't as resilient as it once was.

Worst rating of the weekend must be Indian Summers still dropping to under million.C4 must be getting worried having already ordered a second series.

Just checked Digiguide and that is listing it as the 1966 movie which was called Thunderbirds are Go. They made two movies as I recall (one starring a puppet of Cliff Richards son singing with puppets of the Shadows!!!)

Digiguide must be wrong, though, as this is a 30 minutes slot so cannot be the movie and fits the normal length of a Thunderbirds episode.

Not a repeat either as the first episode is a feature length one hour.

Digiguide has nothing listed yet for 6.00 - 7,00 that Saturday. But is showing a repeat of the Big Star, Little Star episode in the 5.00 - 6.00 slot for Thunderbirds this week.

Virgin listings for ITV are still TBA for the whole day.

Breakfast would be about right if it only gets 2 million or so but if it does unexpectedly well then then ITV will have eggs (and bacon and french toast) on its face putting it on there for week two.

It is particularly odd that they would move it there so fast given that from today they are putting Boom Boom idents into seemingly every ad break on ITV 1 taken from the Thunderbirds music and complete with a flash image of a Thunderbird.

That is going to drive ITV viewers nuts if it carries on all week - or maybe it is an attempt at boosting ratings via a You're back in the room style hypnotic suggestion - you WILL watch Thunderbirds are Go!

The Sun will announce any move out of prime time with the headline 'Thunderbirds are Gone!' no doubt.

Well I'd say it's still quite resilient. It got a similar rating to what it would have got anyway on a Friday. Of course there are more viewers around on Sunday though, so had ITV not made every possible attempt to stop people from watching it it may well have been a million higher. It should be rating higher than that on a Sunday. It didn't because it got what I am going to call anti-promotion from ITV.

Tonight's episode should be over 8m with Sarah's return.

Caribbean with Simon Reeve went up again. Similar to the Sue Perkins series. Nothing gets Top Gear numbers Sunday at 8pm on BBC2 except Top Gear, but these are good ratings.

We're up to episode 7 of Indian Summers and it keeps inching downwards. That suggests series 2 will return lower. It's still around 2.3m though so it hasn't collapsed like New Worlds or Cucumber.

Gotham was certainly hit by its mid season break, returning with a series low 2.13m for the double episode on March 16 (exc. +24).

Note to broadcasters of US dramas: don't believe the hype around fast-tracking, it is HORRIBLE for ratings trajectory. One uninterrupted run from Jan/Feb is best scheduling policy.

Excellent for Poldark.

Fast turnaround in broadcasting episodes works when the series is uninterrupted. Shows on the main US networks always take breaks. Shows on cable usually run uninterrupted lilt Game Of Thrones.

Channel 5 were unlucky with Gotham.

Of course, if they'd waited until January you'd have had idiots on the US subforum throwing their toys out the pram and trying to legitimise an illegal activity because they haven't the patience to wait two or three months for a more sensible scheduling pattern which would have seen us steadily close in on US transmissions anyway.

Even if a later launch meant Gotham started a little lower than that frankly ridiculous 3.94m, which I concede is possible, it would have been better off in the long run. The 13 week break has cost it well over 15% of its audience. A huge blow when the overnight audience hasn't been as good as expected, and C5 must be thankful it hasn't fallen further in the overnights in light of this new information.

An abnormally quiet Sunday on multichannel, largely due to a lack of top flight domestic football, meant Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway (531k/3.1%) narrowly topped the day in that sphere.

http://www.itvmedia.co.uk/

A strong repeat performer all series, something which we ought to bear in mind when we assess its overall ratings performance. It's rare for a daytime repeat of an entertainment show on one of these diginets to rate well enough to figure in these top 10's let alone beat everything else.

Just breaking on Broadcast that C4 has ordered fast turnaround doc How Safe Are Our Planes? (from ITN) following the Germanwings tragedy last week.

It'll replace Three In A Bed at 8pm this Wednesday (1st April).

To be honest it has had difficult competition with drama on BBC 1, first The Casual Vacancy and then Poldark and ITV had Mr Selfridge at the same time

The Saturday schedule for 11th April features a lot of new and returning stuff:

4.15 The Boat Race
6.35 BBC News
6.55 Pointless Celebrities
7.45 Atlantis
8.30 In It To Win It
9.20 Casualty
10.10 BBC News

6.00 You've Been Framed
7.00 Ninja Warriors UK
8.00 Britain's Got Talent
9.20 Play To The Whistle
10.05 ITV News

Good to see BGT back at 8pm, 7pm was a bit too early for Spring (7.30 would have been fine but that wouldn't really work for the rest of the schedule. Slightly surprised to see Atlantis actually getting a decent slot for its swansong.

Also, ITV are launching comedies Newzoids (9pm) and The Delivery Man (9.30pm) on Wednesday 15th April. Seems a strange night for them, the lead-in isn't exactly compatible (the launch of Give a Pet a Home). Also I would have thought they'd be the other way around.

On BBC1, MasterChef pops up on Sunday at 7.30, Monday at 9, Wednesday at 8 and Friday at 8.30. No Thursday episode due to the Leaders Debate (8-9.30, followed by a Mrs Brown repeat).

I think it's fair as it's the most popular show on the channel and even on ITVbe, is usually the top show on multichannel in total for the entire day, in the Top 3 at least. It'd be unfair not to post that. It's hardly dropped despite the move.
