Are most chargers (except Apple) now mini usb?
What the deal these days with charging leads? I know years back they all use to have their proprietary connectors/leads, but am I correct that now Nokia (Windows), HTC, Samsung and even Blackberry are all mini usb? I ask because we are creating a mobile charging area in our reception at the office and I'm trying to establish how many different charging connectors we need to have to cover the majority of visitors. Thoughts?

Yup, MicroUSB, not to be confused with MiniUSB.

You could get Micro USB cable and then have some of the Apple Micro USB to Lightning adapters behind the counter.

micro-USB is quite fragile a connector, there are lots of phone shops replacing connectors - and it has problems with high current charging (e.g. tablets). The USB-C which is not yet on a phone promises to solve these issues and make a much tougher connector. Pretty much all chargers have a traditional USB-A connector (as on a computer) on them, so you can use any lead. |

Yes, micros USB is the norm, though I'd suggest having a Qi charging mat available too.
If you are providing a lead, the also ensure a standard Usb socket is available too, |
