Hi,

We've connected our bluray player to the sound bar which connected to the TV. We've got picture but no sound. Any ideas?

Some vital information missing without which no-one can make a stab at diagnosing the problem.

Make and model of Blu-Ray player
Make and model of soundbar
Make and model of TV

How is the Blu-Ray connected to the soundbar (lead type and sockets used each end)
How is the soundbar connected to the TV (lead type and sockets used each end)

Once we know that it will be a a whole load easier to work out what is going on.

Sorry! They are all samsung, tv n soundbar are curved, don't know models. The bluray is connected to the soundbar via a double ended hdmi and the soundbar is connected to the tv via a double ended hdmi. This is what the soundbar manual said to do but it's not working

Don't worry I've fixed it myself it was thinking about how the sky box works that did it, I thought about how that was connected, ie to the tv not the soundbar so u plugged the bluray into the TV set the soundbar to tv and we have lift off, hurray!

I can only find one curved soundbar on the Samsung website (well two but the only difference seems to be colour).

I will assume that it is not something silly like you have forgotten to press the SOURCE button on the remote of the soundbar to select HDMI.

In which case it may be the audio format the Blu-Ray player is chucking at the soundbar. Go into the set up of the player and select PCM Stereo as the output format. This is the most basic format and it would be a pi55 poor device that can't understand it.

See if that produces sound then change the format to see what the soundbar supports.

Also try plugging the Blu-Ray direct to the telly and make sure you get sound out of the TV speakers. That will at least prove the player is outputting sound.
